I hated NBA Playgrounds. Such a dumb idea to have to grind to unlock your roster of players. Hope they chuck that out the window and just give us an NBA Jam update with a full roster (but doubt they will).

You might just get a straight-up NBA Jam title instead.

I do not know, or care to know, much of anything about basketball. But I loved playing NBA Jam when I was a kid, so I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

This looks like a lot of fun and season mode is enough to tip me to buy this

This comes out Tuesday with a new MSRP of $29.99. I got a message from PlayStation that I would be receiving a refund but never got one. My $15.99 preorder still looks active in my Game Library so I guess we will see come Tuesday. There's no pre-order page up in the PSN Store to confirm at present.

I can't download the new version. The CS at Sony has no idea what's going on. I own the pre-order but it's not tied to this game. Hopefully they will figure it out soon.

It sounds like unless you either put a ton of time into this or spend money to unlock things that getting more players is ridiculous.

That's exactly how the first game was too.

The review I watched made it sound worse. Like it takes forever to earn points to unlock the character packs and they’re really expensive. I haven’t played either of them but was kinda thinking about it. Probably will just pass though.

I had no idea you had to unlock characters... I can see the appeal in that but I want a quick pick-up game from time to time. I'll pass until the price drops - considerably.
