Atari 2600 - Pac Man 8k Homebrew

Too bad Atari didn't release this instead of the monstrosity that they did release. Perhaps there wouldn't have been a video game crash.

Naw, it's a big improvement but the crash was going to happen any way you look at it.

Unfortunately, there would have been massive cart limitations back in '82 which is why we got the flicker fest we did. The 4K and 8K releases are a big improvement over that monstrosity.

The official release from 1982 was also 4K. The whole reason the guy did the 4K homebrew was to show what was possible with just 4K.

The guy who did the 8K version is letting people download it for free. This is the most recent version that I could find:

Oh, 8k as in kilobytes, not pixel resolution.

They should have held off on the release until they had a few more decades' worth of Atari programming experience and knowledge.
