Odd question. My guess is it'll be a launch title for PS Now on the PS5.

Seriously. If ever there was a time, now is the time. Or at the very latest, Black Friday this year. There isn't going to be a sweeter spot to get a machine and games at a great price.

Re: God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
Picked this up yesterday.
Hoping to dig into it once the classes I'm teaching finish up. |

He asks because he doesn't have a PlayStation, just a Sony TV that he can do PSNow on. I think you'll be waiting a while OldBoy.

Re: God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
Got a few more hours in last night but it was all spent doing side quests, which basically just opened up for me. Most of the time was spent on one that involved a dwarf castle and freeing a dragon. Still a long way to go, i assume.
Oh and FYI to anyone who may watch his videos. Angry Joe's review has, what I consider a spoiler. He may not have known due to not playing any of the older games but early in the video he shows a clip where: Spoiler:

Re: God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
Not yet finishing the game but I'm loving ever minute of it. Hopefully we see a dlc with new quests and bosses.

Re: God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
I've been spending time doing side quests and favors too. Those realm tear things are tough, i've had to give up on a couple of them

I got one-hit killed by a monster out of one of those void things too, but on another one, I just got an item/artifact, with no monster. So each one is different, I guess.

Is that what those little black voids are that I've run across? I clicked on one and a monster clearly far stronger than I came out and 1-shot me. Pretty funny actually. I haven't touch another since. lol
For those that want the "Souls" experience, I guess :p |
Re: God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
Good to know. I'll start doing them again and just deal with the kills when they happen. I think I skipped 2 or 3 after that first one messed me up.

My tip-that-you're-probably-already-doing would be to deck out Atreus as soon as possible. Prioritize his skills over Kratos'. Max out whatever your favorite rune for him is. Upgrade his armor and bow. I'll lead with Atreus' runic attack and have him rapid-fire a bunch of arrows, and that'll go a long way towards softening up those guys. Keep moving. Don't forget about your own runic attacks. Have Atreus keep firing arrows as soon as he's reloaded. As for Kratos, there's no shame in attacking from a distance. Seriously, though, keep moving. Keep off the moors. Best of luck t'ya. |
Re: God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
How do you use Atreus's Runic? I know I have the one where a wolf comes out but I haven't used it yet. And I do stick to ax throwing at times, depending on the enemy. This was definitely a situation where I wasn't expecting it. The guy popped out of the void and killed me before I even realized what happened.
Regarding upgrades, I have been working on Atreus mostly. I've upgraded the bow skills much more than Kratos'. |

Thanks. I just upgraded it last night so I guess I should start using it.

Yeah, I saw that bit on Reddit. It definitely would've been a nice surprise to see it on my own. Speaking of, I just reached that part yesterday. Does anyone who's finished this know about how much story is left? I'm really liking this game, but I'm getting the itch to move on to something else. |

The squirrel is EXTREMELY useful before the start of a battle...it will usually dig up enough rage to fill your bar, then you can switch it back to another one after the cool down is done...it allows you to use your rage much more freely late game. I had a lot of fun trying fights that were purple, because even on hard, late game it gets easy (and you are locked out of the god of war difficulty unless you chose it right away)...but there was one hard fight late game against an optional boss that had me thinking Dark Souls after a while.. |

I really suck at this kind of game and I'm dying a lot but I'm still loving it. I just can't remember 87 different button presses. The graphics are just stunning. This really lets the Pro shine.

I finished up everything but the Valkyries in Midgard and Alfheim, and Helheim is next on the list. |
