God of War (4/20/18- PS4)
I guess we don't have a thread for this already? Anyways, should be coming out in a couple months. A Collector's Edition was announced today at Gamestop for $150.

I absolutely loved God of War 1 and 2, but never did finish 3. I really need to get around to playing the remaster, although as much as I loved the hack and slash I felt a little bored of it which is why I never finished playing it. Still really curious how they shake up the formula in this one.

GOW may be my favorite game series of all time so naturally I can't wait for this one. I think I will play through the series again this year in chronological order. That'll make my 3rd run through of all the titles ..

I had GoW 3 spoiled for me, because a friend invited me over to play Street Fighter, but he just couldn't tear himself away from GoW 3. He ended up finishing the game after playing for an hour, reassuring me he'd stop before the ending. I wasted the better portion of my night, and had (at the time) a great new release ruined for me. This same friend had a habit of doing this with the Arkham series as well, which is why I've never revisited the series. All that being said! I actually want to play this game, it looks vastly different from the previous games, count me in.

Ouch.
I can’t wait for this, I’ve loved every game so far. I’m very interested in how these changes are going to work.
But if there’s side missions that require babysitting, I’m out.

Holy cow, I thought this was coming out later in fall. Gamers are going to be really busy with a flood of new games coming out in March followed by GOW.

Stone Mason's Edition up at Amazon and Best Buy too. $119 is a little tempting w/ GCU. I'm just wondering if it's going to be limited like Horizon Zero Dawn was. Or overproduced like Uncharted 4 was. For now I'm sticking with my $40 Target preorder.

Yeah, I placed a pre-order for the Collector's Edition. Those four little trinkets don't seem like they'd be worth the difference to me. I would like that Kratos & Son statue though. My Aloy statue is my favorite video game collectable ever. They did such an amazing job on it.

BTW : I thought this was interesting -- the Digital Deluxe version on PSN for $69.99 comes not only with some bonus digital content but comes with a physical enamal pin. Never seen a physical bonus with a digital purchase before. If you use that 10% off coupon (I assume it works on pre-orders, but don't know that for sure as the fine print didn't give details of exculsions) it would be $63 this week.

Yeah, that statue is what might get me to preorder. It's made by the same company too, Gentle Giant. So it should be on par as the same quality as Aloy, which I also love. The detail on that one was nothing short of amazing.

Oh, so the design on the top is supposed to look like his axe. I think they missed the mark on this one, it looks hideous.
The game still looks fantastic though, it better fucking deliver.
