oh man, if i was still a Nintendo fanboy this game would make me jizz. but alas a child i shall not be anymore (a manchild peharps) and thus the appeal has dissipated...

I'm sure it'll be good but I'm not really connecting with the elements in the game. Reminds me of Super Mario Sunshine for me. Good game but just not connecting with some added element to it.

I'm really excited for this. I like Zelda but I'm a much bigger Mario fan so this has been the game I've been waiting for on Switch. I like that it looks to be a new style but also that it incorporates some of the elements from the 3D games like Super Mario 64. Already have a copy pre-ordered from Amazon and look forward to spending next weekend with it.

This will be the second game I'm buying for my Switch. Which is good, because I need a break from Mario + Rabbids

I've never been a big fan of 3D Mario games, but will get this anyway. Still debating between physical vs digital.

This is easily the game this year I'm most excited for. I have a ton of vacation time so I'm taking the week after it comes out off.

I actually prefer digital now but if you Amazon Prime or the Best Buy Gamer's Club thing, its hard to skip out on the 20% off a physical copy.

Also, if you are a Gamer's Club member, this is one of the games that qualifies for $10 back in rewards if you pre-order. So that plus the 20% is a pretty awesome deal.

Yeah, I prefer digital too but it's the 20% off from Amazon Prime that's tempting me. I'm not sure if this is a game i'll want to revisit regularly.

Yeah I do all digital as well, but that Prime discount and lack of storage space has be considering it.

I played the Super Mario Odyssey demo at Target for a little bit last night while the wife and kids were shopping. It looks and plays better than I thought it would. And I imagine a pro controller is only going to make it that much better. I didn't want to play too much since it comes out in a week, but I'm more excited for it now after playing it.

Same! I was at my local Target enjoying the demo, and while I didn't know the demo was timed I snapped a pic of the screen, and just as I was about to keep playing, I noticed a small child watching me. He was giving me that "can I play?" look so I handed over the controller and the demo reset...-eek-

In happier news Mario Odyssey's song "Jump Up Superstar" is now available on iTunes. Also, if you haven't guessed I'm crazy hyped for this game, so much in fact I bought an enamel pin based on Cappy. I've seen this same pin on eBay, most of the sellers are claiming its the official Nintendo pin given away at expos. The pin itself was only worn by Reggie and Miyamoto, and not handed out to attendees.

You can get one of those pins here!

i haven't been this amped for a Mario game since Mario Sunshine, and Odyssey really feels like the sequel we never got.

I got an email from Best Buy that read:

Hello [Goldberg74],

Thank you for choosing Best Buy to pre-order Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch. We noticed that your order does not have the Super Mario Odyssey Cappy Collectible Coin: SKU 6090300, included with your purchase. We want to make sure that you have this item, so we have added it to your order, free of charge.

There is no action needed from you. We hope you enjoy your Nintendo Switch products and we value your continued loyalty to Best Buy.

Sincerely,

Your Best Buy Customer Care Team
I guess I'm getting the game for $48.00, a $10 Reward GC, and a Cappy Coin.

Cool.

There may be more buzz about this game than I had thought. Nintendo had a demo tent set up today at Chicago's Navy Pier, and there were huge lines to get in to play and another long line to get a picture taken with Mario.

This game has me jiggy. Though I’ve only finished 1 Super Mario game in my life. Not even the very first on NES. And I only beat Super MARIO 3 bc of some cheat I was able to use. Played them all though. Just never finished for whatever reasons. Would love to play this, the new Zelda, but definitely want to finish the one that was last on GameCube. The name escapes me. Not sure worth getting a Switch just for a few games. And I just love all the Xbox games, even though I have a hard time sticking wit one to completion again for whatever reasons...

Ehh it's Navy Pier, there's a long line for everything

Tried playing Mario 64 DS yesterday. The water level is unplayable with that shitty analog nub . Also can’t play as Mario from the start is bullshit

Re: Super Mario Odyssey (Oct 27,2017)- Official Thread

Yeah, it is sort of odd that Super Mario 64 DS starts you as Yoshi rather than Mario. It’s still a great version of the game though. I played the water level with the D-Pad on my DS Lite but haven’t played it on my 3DS. I’m not the biggest fan of the Circle Pad but I’ve gotten used to it. I’d say Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario 64 are my all time favorite Mario games.

I still haven’t bought a Pro Controller yet. I was thinking I’d get one for this game but just haven’t wanted to spend the $70 for it yet considering I don’t mind the Joy Cons. Still might pick one up though.
