Wish there were more time between the release of Injustice 2 and this. Two AAA fighting games shouldn't come out that close to each other (and Guilty Gear Rev 2 came out in-between them at well)

They have said it will look significantly better on Pro. No comment yet on Scorpio support.

I'm just waiting to read how the X1 version holds up to vanilla PS4 (which itself is apparently sub-1080p).

That's weird to me. It's a rather confined arena and doesn't appear to be that visually impressive.

81 Metacritic score right now. Sounds pretty good.

Reviews are kind of all over the place, some boast about the mechanics and fun factor of it all, others complain about the general lack of content.

I certainly wouldn't call them "all over the place". They are almost entirely positive, but with some minor quibbles. It's not Breath of the Wild, or Horizon Zero Dawn, but the thumbs are pretty much all pointing up.

Basically, if you like Tekken or pick up & play fighting games you will love this.

Wow, just wow. I've been waiting for this game quite a while but wary of the fact it never looked like much graphically. On top of that, it seems to be a technical mess. Might have to pass and stick with Tag 2, which was mind-blowing on the last generation.

I'm with you, Rich - I can't imagine what about this game is possibly pushing the engine so hard.

I'll tell you - it looks fantastic regardless and it plays GREAT. I have been sitting here for an hour in Treasure mode just battling and having fun and winning some crazy shit every time like a tree hat or a Cold Tofu t-shirt. Good stuff!

Forgot to mention that the XO loading times are also supposedly roughly double.. that sounds awful and also lacks explanation.

Play all my fighting games (save for Killer Instinct, obviously) on the PS4 since my fancy Street Fighter v Tekken PS3 fightstick works on the PS4. I have a nice 360 Street Fighter IV fightstick as well, but that doesn't port forward.

Ah. Unfortunately it's the dropoff from PS4 to XO that sounds worst, not the lack of 1080p on PS4. Still shocked at how much they had to cut to get this one-on-one fighter to run on the One.
