So how do you fish? I have a rod, but it's not in my wheel of weapons.

Also, I was about to get in a vehicle and looked at my map to mark the waypoint and when I went back to the game, that vehicle and all others in view had disappeared. Other than that, the game is damn fun and addictive.
Both of these were problems in FC4 as well. A shame they didn't bother to fix either. The weapon swap is annoying as hell. Also, earlier I ran across my first copter, but decided to run in the nearby building to loot it, come back out and the copter is gone. Haven't run across another yet.

Hmm, you should have seen him on the map. It's impossible to miss. Southwest of the starting island. It's a larger icon than all the starting ones.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

I agree on the Loot & Weapon on the body issue...I'll want the loot and end up getting the gun they have instead...but that's been in it the "Con" area...

I will say I've been more than happy with the friendly NP/AI in the game as to getting more involved and pitching in. I've got about 75% of Holland and about every encounter some show up...it's been all out war on the roads. I saw one last night run over, took control of the Mortar and just fire away. Much better in this one than in FC4...

So far only Boomer and Grace but Grace is good...like real good. They made the "Specialist" smarter and act like a real player. Paint the target and if she can't get a shot, she'll say, "Moving to another location"...and she'll find one with a clear view and it's automatic....and jump in a truck with a Machine Gun in the back; she'll do the driving and it's a bit reckless but still lets you use the gun. Can't wait to try the others and see how good they are.

I've actually have two missions tied to John Steed's Ranch which is basically a huge fortress with enemies all over.....this will be fun.

...and got Marked a second time last night...not saying nothing....

....night before took down a couple of Copters, last night (4) Planes and (2) Copters....one Plane down by a Rocket, one by Truck Machine gun, one downed by several NP Friendly's and one down by me in a copter in a head-on collision.....both Copters downed by rockets...that's a Bad Weapon...haven't tried the Cluster Heads yet....

...and The Widowmaker Mission is by far the most fun I've had....and not saying a thing there either except....probably killed more in a few minutes than I do in a full day....means everything....

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Saw a random person being attacked by a turkey, after the turkey killed her, it started attacking me, fumbling, I pressed R1 (instead of L2/R2), accidentally attaching my equipped explosives to the turkey instead of shooting/hitting it, setting off the explosive, resulting in a dust of feathers and blood.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

In order to use the fishing rod you need to open the weapons wheel (L1) and then hold (R1) which opens a second wheel which Shos the rod and the things you can create from plants.

Last night I defeated Faith Seed. Her battle was a little annoying, but not too difficult.

The first time I saw a helicopter I flew it, landed, fought some guys and then one of them jumped in the helicopter and flew off with it. Made me laugh, but pissee me off as well.

I have about 6 of the squad members unlocked, and I have been going through them one at a time to get the necessary kills for each to grab the perk point.

I am hoping that one of the perks is to automatically pick up loot from dropped bodies, similar to the perk in Shadow of War, but I don't recall seeing one in the menu. Would really be a big benefit.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Maybe this is obvious to everyone else, but I was 10-15 hours into the game before figuring out how to buy weapon accessories. I was wanting silencers and kept checking every vendor I came across, thinking they'd be at the top level of one of the menu items, not realizing I first needed to select a weapon I owned and could then customize it. Figured that out last night and it made a world of difference. With a scope on the bow and scope and silencers on a pistol and sniper rifle, pretty much every encounter was 10x easier. I've got John Seed's region up to about 80% resistance, so guessing I'll finish that up tonight or tomorrow. This seems like a pretty good step forward for the series. It feels a lot more organic and a lot less like a checklist than 3 & 4.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

I've felt Far Cry was the superior series, since the initial release at the same time as Doom and HL2. This one is great ... with one exception.

The game is supposed to be a sandbox. That's what Far Cry is. That's what makes it different. When the game jerks you out of that then it sucks shit.

It does this in two ways, both of which feel like they were farmed out to external teams who didn't understand the game. First are the missions where enemies rush you ... almost always timed. Sneak in, plant a bunch of bombs undetected because you are the sneaky stealth shovel assassin guy .. and then the scene switches and you need to kill 800 enemies that are rushing the compound. Not cool.

Second are the "plot" scenes. It yanks you out to some cut scene "press enter to move on" nonsense. Or, worse, the "you must walk slowly" dreamtime shit that the previous games did.

These break the wall. No longer are you playing Far Cry, now you are in some other rail shooter scripted crap game.

Rant over. I really liked both the Widowmaker mission and the "baby delivery" mission. If the game is "Rural America at 11" then both of them ramp it up to 12. Lighthearted joy.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Got 100% of the John Snead area and it opened a new mission but I also think a issue/problem...

I had...and still have his Ranch to take down...got totally sidetracked on all these side missions that popped up....more on those later. But when I hit 100%..."something" popped up...not saying what...that sort of changed "something" on the map...not saying what or where....

....but my Rye Mission is gone....which is around the Snead Ranch. Even though I'm at 100%...his Ranch is considered a Cultist Stronghold and still shows. However, in my menu and mission log, Rye is no longer there...and nor he is at his Airfield. I guess I'll do Snead's Ranch and see if Rye's Plane Mission pops up or not but it's no where in the mission log.

...rough night last night...died at least 10 Times....that stupid plane must have popped up every 15 minutes and I swear it has Heat Vision because no matter where we were it fired and dropped bombs on us all the while reinforcements kept popping up.

...whenever one does the "Raising the Steaks"" mission...use Molotov Cocktails...brings a new meaning to Hot Barbecue.....

...and my new favorite Gun...Double Barrel Shotgun w/Incendiary Ammo

...and best moment last night...when a NP shot the Copter Pilot, he fell out out, then copter starts spinning going down and took out two pickups and three bad guys

...and I too liked the Widowmaker Mission...that's one of those you would like to replay over several times...Roadkill Mania!!!

well I have enjoyed every single Far Cry game so far (I loved Far Cry 2 and the mechanics they put in it, but can understand the hate. The malaria thing does get a little bothersome, but its exciting when your gun jams in the middle of a firefight and you gotta think fast), and the best in the series for me was the first one (I would LOVE to see a remaster of that game).

I do agree that the third one was very good, and in comparison its very similar, but probably improves significantly in areas. Its a different locale, but I think this new one in rural USA works very well indeed. A lot of reviewers have found it an average game, but really not sure what they expected. I have gotten exactly what I anticipated in a really fun blast of a game that has good production values and tongue in cheek attitude.

Well had a busy weekend so not had a great deal of time on the game, but I did manage to complete the Alien Artifact mission and got the weird gun that acts very similar to the magnetic gun in Half Life 2. I don't think it pulls things in, but fire it once and it pushes things away from you. I did it twice to a dog and the thing exploded second time. LOL.

I also saw my first little glitch. I saved a person and after recovering from an near hit with an explosion they stood up with a shotgun sticking directly out from their tits. It made me laugh.

I am pretty close to getting my second boss battle and probably have that done by the end of today if I get a chance to play. This is a game I will keep coming back to as its fun just to shoot things up from time to time.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

I have played about 4 levels on the arcade. Two of those were pretty good. Two were pretty bad. I am looking forward to this future DLC that comes out, pretty sure it will be good.

Not played any multiplayer yet, and with a piss poor net connection I ted to stay away from that side of things.

I want to see that screenshot. I have also had a couple of strange glitches, which I have saved to my videos and will eventually get around to uploading to my youtube.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Couple things... it seems to me that animal take about a billion shots to go down, that is if they don't run away while you're re-loading. Makes it really tough to kill animals - tougher than humans.

Also, does it take for-fucking-ever for the shop menu to open up for the rest of you? It's so bad, it makes me not want to shop for items. Also, what they fuck can you not just buy the one ammo you need, instead of paying all that money to re-fill your entire stock, even if you only want one type of ammo?

So much of this shit wasn't really thought through.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Well I thought you can buy individual ammo in the shop? I know I have bought incendiary ammo, grenades, Molotov's etc. on their own. But I tend to just buy the restock, makes it easier.

Oh, and use the meat you collect to lure in animals in hunting. Some of the perks definitely help in hunting though.

Last night I did discover that clicking on the bow in the wheel you can then use the triangle to change ammo. Also square for guns to change shooting choices. It had been bugging me not seeing it before now.

And sorry, I didn't capture a screenshot of Double Barrel Tits. LOL

Update: I just did the race where you use the wingsuit to fly down through rings.Tried about 10 times before I figured the best way. When using the Wingsuit ONLY use the left stick. Do not bother touching anything else. The right stick makes you look around, but its a massive hindrance when using the wingsuit.

I agree with not touching the right stick when you are flying a plane, as well. It just discombobulates you and had me damn near hit the ground on more than one occasion.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

I might have found my solution or fix with the Rye & Sons mission not in my log....but it has to do with Seed" Ranch which I took out last night...I was soooo close to taking everyone out with throwing knives....just two left and one I hit was those long coat armored guys and didn't aim for the head....

But a note on the counter explained my pop up mission with the main Town, Fall's End....I'm still avoiding spoilers as to the fate & outcome but hope I can still get Nick Rye.

I have liked trying the various Guns For Hire to see what they have to offer...one I had last night used a SMG but his perk was to collect resources for me. So far all have been pretty good in support and don't hold back. I marked a Wolverine which made a beeline for the woods after being shot and the Hired Gun got in a pickup drove thru the woods and hunted it down and killed it.....

....I too have seen the glitch of weapon sticking up....one of those I killed with a throwing knife, I moved the body and he's laying there with the Semi-Auto sticking up thru his chest....that looked weird but funny...took a screen shot of that one...

....I did find something new though...just take a Copter and fly around some of the "Gray Areas" on the map and land....that will open up unmarked areas and might find some places and things to do...

...and yes the Triangle changes the ammo on the Bow, Shotgun and Rocket Launcher....just need to remember to switch back......still like the Bow with Normal, Fire and Explosive Arrows....

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

You can buy the different arrows in the Gun Shop, along with different types of bullet.

Well I beat the second boss today and I am pretty close to having the third boss battle, but I have decided to spend time doing a lot of side missions, and collecting things. During the second boss battle the game has an onscreen direction for you to press a button in response to someone being hit. I didn't hit the button and it worked out pretty good. Curious to know how it would have played out if I had hit X.

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Far Cry 5 Doubles Far Cry 4's First-Week Sales, Is Ubisoft's Second-Biggest Game Launch

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...me-launch.aspx

I liberated Holland last night...that final part seemed like it would never end...still good.

My issue of not getting the Rye & Sons mission fixed itself also...don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't completed Holland but several characters are tied together. But i was able to do the Wingman Mission and get Nick in my Specialist Loadout.

Not so much as a complaint but they might have overdone the amount of missions in the areas. My final stat shows 36 of 52 missions done....that's a lot left over for an area already liberated.

It took awhile to get the Plane Flying down but bottomline.....Don't Touch/Use The Right Stick....prefer the copter by a long shot....

Re: Far Cry 5 - 3/27/18

Well another couple of hours on it and i have unlocked the John Seed final battle. It was just about to start when i had to shut down and head to work this morning. This game is a bit like Wildlands in that you look at the map and think Jeez....too much shit to do (except WAY moreso in Wildlands). Having said that, i have cleared missions and tasks from about two thirds of the map. Most challenges completed and got full squad and almost every perk upgrade.

One thing about squad members, i wish they had it similar to Wildlands in that when you highlight a target you hit a button for your team member to respond. Many times i have zeroed in on a target, put them as a priority and then sat waiting for them to be taken out.

The enemy planes also spawn too frequently and zero in on your too quickly for my liking. They are not hard to take out, but its just a pain having to stop and deal with them so much.

Thanks I was able to get the Black Market Perk and buy some Incendiary and Explosive arrows last night. I'll test them out tonight. Is there any reason to carry an RPG around if you have these?

What's the easiest way to take out planes? I encountered my first last night and was not able to shoot it down with my rifle.
