I'm sure this will be fixed, the backlash is non-stop lol. I'm glad this happened, other devs will take note and hopefully it'll be streamlined in every game going forward.

I do wonder if the 6, 6.5 type scores are fair or just piling on at this point? I'm having fun... but if this was called Space Balls Battlefront 2, maybe it wouldn't be as much fun to me?

I think people are willing to overlook a lot of bullshit so they can play in the Star Wars universe. Would you even have looked at this game if it weren't for the license?

This was on my must buy list until all this happened. I saw some of this coming based on beta play, but I figured it would be really hard to screw this up, but I guess I was wrong. I'll bite later on after this gets sorted out and after a price drop. I'l be curious as to how active the first one remains.

At this point I might just shelved the game and wait till the dust clears to see what EA & Dice plan on doing....or not doing. At this point they're going to face backlash from either side on this Loot Crate issue no matter what they do.

What's the other side? Is there a side asking for more loot boxes or loves what they are doing? Seems like the other side plans to ignore them or doesn't care. Unless you mean the other side is EA?

They should. There are many companies out there like Rocksteady who could do amazing Star Wars game without shitting on gamers like EA has done.

Gacha games already saw some legislation from the Japanese government, enough so that many of the game companies self regulated (stuff like clearly posting drop percentages and having a max amount to be spent) in fear of more legislation coming down. So it's not like this is unprecedented. It is a form of almost unmitigated gambling that is somewhat accessible to minors (though you should never allow a minor to make PSN or Live purchases without some kind of security).

Maybe it's to make up for the short campaign? I saw a full play-through uploaded earlier; 3 hours and 47 minutes. You can knock that out between breakfast and dinner with time to spare.

It's over 188 days of non-stop playing. The most hours I've ever put into a game is 600. This type of pay-to-win scheme should've been gradually phased in over years so that we wouldn't notice how fucking ridiculous it is. But EA's unbridled greed was just completely over-the-top.

To present a counterpoint, if you're having fun and if the unlocks aren't essential, I think it's an ok model. I have no idea how long, for instance, it takes for someone to take a myplayer and progress him to 99 on NBA 2k, but I'll get to at least the mid 80s because I love the game. If it's a grind, then the game is doing it wrong.

Of course, the article said base game content, so that's a bit different.

Why continue when they'll probably alter the rewards, costs, the what's and how's. It's such an outcry on this there will be some major changes that effects major parts of the game. I don't think it effects the Arcade and SP as much for sure and that part you can still jump in and play ok to nick at the challenges. I will say at least EA is trying to listen and get to the problem/issue now listening to players and reading feedback. They could be like some out there that ignore or wait or try to water down the issues & concerns players have....
