Middle Earth: Shadow of War (Mordor sequel; PS4 / XB1; 10/10/17)

Accidentally leaked by Target!

As for the Gold Edition:

Presumably this is what WB announced they'll announce on March 8th. Target lists the release date as 8/22.

This is a day one purchase for me. The last game was simply incredible and I have been hoping for a sequel. Cannot wait.

I find it odd the Nemesis system was never copied for other games. I wonder if it's a complicated system to implement for other games? Or the Publisher and or developers have a patent on it where others can't legally use it?

It's one of those games that might start off a little hard, but it quickly rewards those who stick with it. By the end of the game I could take on countless bad guys and have no problem of winning.

And the Nemesis system is awesome. It kept the game living for a long time. I made it my goal to take control of every single orc on the board, and my last game save has exactly that. Cant wait to see the updates ofthay, and the enemies and landscapes.

I'm sure I'll give it another try at some point. I don't like to give up too easily. I've given many a second chance and wound up loving them. Arkham Asylum was a big one. Just don't have the penchant for playing these days of anything. And I really want to get into RE 7 having played only minutes thus far...

I somehow played the majority of the first game without even engaging the nemesis system. Still very much enjoyed the game, but there was, and still is, a ton of hype for this mechanic that was completely lost on me.

One hundred percent down for a sequel, though.

I was just wondering if there was going to be a sequel. Absolutely loved the first. Best LOTR game by far.

Well...many, many fans of the game have been wondering and asking about this for last few years. But all seemed lost especially if you try to access Monolith Studios web site you get a front page with a lot of Shadow of Mordor stuff and seeing the latest "News" from November 2013????

But it's now called Monolith Productions and under the umbrella of Warner Bros Entertainment who calls all the shots. There hasn't been anything solid but just rumors and hopes for ages.....till now...

Shadow of Mordor sequel hinted at in local retailer listing

Hard to say if true, a tease, hack, false, real or what but the title seems real. I could only hope for one....one of my best blind buy experiences with a solid combat system. I will say this sort of screamed having a two-player co-op section to it; maybe not the whole game but just parts.

I got about half way through Mordor when it first came out, but then set it aside for one reason or another. When I went back to it a year later (after a long update), the game wouldn't recognize my old save file. So I said fuck it, and never went back.

This will shock the gaming world much like the original did.....

...granted the visuals were not up to par with the current gen, the gameplay made up for it. No telling what the story will be around but if they can keep the base & foundation of the game intact while taking advantage of the power of the current gen consoles along with the PC's; this game will rock everyone.

...still like to see some sort of 2-player co-op side stuff...the first one would've been perfect with Lithariel involved.

Judging by that cloth map in the pic above, the game world looks way bigger. Hope it's more varied looking than the last game - I had to keep looking at the map to know where I was, since it all looked the same.

For $300, I expect a nude college girl to come play the game at my house while I watch. That's more than it costs for a freakin console!

I'm sure it's good, and I did enjoy the first one, but why must you buy the gold edition to even get the full game?

What is this, Game of Thrones?

About the difficulty of the game: It was definitely frustrating for me to keep getting killed by the chieftains in the early going. Once I did enough side quests and minor kills, I had enough strength to really start cleaning up.

I'll probably go day 1 on this, and maybe for the DLC too since I played it all in the original game. No trinkets, though.
