Hawkeye trailer:

...and...!

Featuring upgraded visuals and framerate, haptic feedback for each hero, significantly faster load times, improved destruction and Heroic detail, Marvel's Avengers on Next-Gen consoles is a redefined adventure. Available March 18, 2021
As deeply flawed as the game is, Kate was really fun, so I'm hopeful for Hawkeye's mini-campaign. Maybe the PS5 bells and whistles will be nice too.

I still haven't opened my copy! At least the Steelbook looks nice.
Will wait on the PS5 version, I guess.

Yeah I bought a cheap copy a month or so ago and planned on waiting until the ps5 upgrade. Glad to see it's coming next month.

If you play it just for the campaign (and the free DLC mini-campaigns), I'd bet you'll mostly enjoy it. The combat is terrific. Each character feels very unique. The upgrade trees are extensive and very compelling -- almost too much so, as I would've taken to a couple of the Avengers much more quickly if it didn't take so long to get some of the better abilities.

Co-op is a mess, especially during the campaign which bounds back and forth between "single player only!" and "okay, now you can play with other people". Being forced to play as particular characters can be a bit of a drag. I really disliked playing as Iron Man early on, and the last couple of Avengers don't unlock until very close to the end. It has the fewest supervillains of probably any comic book game in existence, which is truly baffling. The shallow, repetitive endgame is not worth any time or effort.

So, why couldn’t they license the actual actors, at least likeness?

Could be. Also, is this not optimized? It says in description, just hadn’t been updated yet? And where is free dlc, is it story related? Or that not out yet either?

I forget what they call the campaign, but you start as Kamala Khan, play as The Hulk after a few missions, and then get to play as Iron Man (well, Tony first, IIRC). The single player-only levels force a character on you, although there are some portions that allow multiplayer and will let you choose between whichever characters are available.

wait. i started as Tony, then upgraded suit to Obsidian. i never saw this Khan chick. i saw something from Maria Hill, went to her, her office. then went to this area where i had to kill all these guys, as Iron Man. other Avenger's there too, but i can't even get passed this first round of bots or whatever. that can't be good. but, i didn't see anything with Khan...

"Reassemble" is what the campaign is called. I think you're in one of the other modes.

it said single player campaign so i clicked on it. meet Maria Hill at this base is how i started. and you're telling me even Colbie Smoulders couldn't give her voice? at least having one is better than none.

It's not an MCU game and has nothing to do with the MCU. You know how in the new Spider-man game he is not voiced by Tom Holland? It's like that.

If they had the MCU license they would have used at the very least the costume designs instead of making their own (poor) imitations. But yes, if the opening that starts you out as Kamala doesn't clue you into the fact that it's not the MCU, I'm not sure what to say.

As I said I said I didn’t see Khan intro mission at all. I explained where it started me. They are still same characters for most part. I mean they have the main MCU characters, they have Maria Hill. Ms. Marvel (whoever that is? Was that the bad Annette Benning in movie)? This female Hawkeye or something. I mean from what I played, seemed fluid and good movement. Maybe I started wrong SP mission and mission I went into was too high level since I was getting ass kicked. I’ll have to find this Reassemble mission to start campaign. Could have sworn this said it, but who knows.

I know this may seem like a dumb question but I have to ask:
you realize all of those MCU characters are based on characters from comic books, right? This game is also based on comic books.

Ohhh. What does that have to do with anything? These games are obviously as a result of movie series. And just thought it was a tie-in with actual actors and stuff. I mean they are pretty similar likenesses and nothing really than how they look in comics.

Ms. Marvel is Kamala Kahn, a character from the comics who hasn't been featured in the films yet. She does have Disney+ series coming though.

These games are not part of the MCU. There are many different interpretations of these characters in different mediums. Fiege probably doesn't want them tied into the MCU. And paying all of the actors to do voiceovers and paying for likeness rights would have blown the budget of the game.

I see where I can track Reassemble mission, but I can’t get to it. I even deleted save data to start from scratch, but always starts with Taking Aim and go meet Maria Hill...
