Ellie performing revenge
Just finished her side, now onto Abby's. Loving this brutal game and especially the flashbacks with more into their past stories.

This is a really good video about the game. It's about 20 minutes and focuses on the game's themes of empathy and anti-cultism, and the reactions from "gamers." I don't think I've seen a take on this game that's as close to how I felt playing through it. Really glad to see someone articulate it this way.
Obviously contains spoilers for both this game and the original. NSFW for language, violence, politics, and more.

I have started ..."The Second Story"...Day 2 I think....and I now see why the uproar, pushback and division among players on either it's great or just bad. Those who played the first one, you had two central characters who were opposite of each other go for a long, long dangerous journey across country....that well for me got attached to and became my favorite game chacters...now along with Jin in Ghost of Tsushima...then only to find and see that's suddenly changed....then find out you're seeing it all thru others that well for the most part; you have a Love & Hate Relationship with.
Visually, action, adventure, setting has been a fun, frustrating, roller coaster ride of emotion but I've taken a few days away from it now. Don't recall or think of any other game that has done this or for that fact could do this; Play as two with all ties to one......

Well finally finished it yesterday...a huge WOW factor....a roller coaster of emotions that had me glued and wanting more yet almost dreading playing the next part. Fantastic story...and yes, I agreed with The Ending as being fitting yet leaving the door open for ...several possible stories to continue. Actors and Motion Capture...simply the best I've seen; much like TLoU1 which I felt more like being ina Sci-Fi Stephen King mini-series than game sometimes...couldn't wait till next episode....
Overall...it deserved the 9.5-10 scores...though early on I wasn't so sure as to the direction the game/story might be heading after some surprises....in the end they maybe should've called it...The Last of Two of Us....having played this and Ghost of Tsushima...both were deserving of Game of the Year and frankly should've shared the award. Both Ghost and Last of us shared somewhat the same thing...side characters with their own stories that all tied to the main...and both a surprised awesome final......
Hats off to Naughty Dog...they and Sucker Punch are really truely masters at doing not just games but adventures...and two of my favorite Game Developers.....what a ride ith both games....

Just finished this. I am conflicted. While I think it was a very good game, I'm not quite sure it matched the first one. I am very torn on the split gameplay. I think the biggest issue is that I could never get behind the Abby character. I get her motivations, but it absolutely did nothing to make her likeable. But, on the flip side, that's what something good does; make you feel something,
I will say every time I thought the game was over, it kept going. Like at 4 different points I thought to myself this was the end only to have it keep going.

There's a new 60fps patch if you're playing on a PS5. (Still 1440p, if you're curious.)

finally played this since it didn't appear it was getting a true ps5 upgrade. wasn't sure what to think at the midpoint but enjoyed the back half more than the front. i thought it was a little long and repetitive and the overall story could have been a bit tighter, but well done for the most part.
if i had one complaint besides the repretition it was the throw you in a dark space with monsters that can one hit you coming from all directions is kinda eh at this point.

I saw several videos on the review and some even almost played the entire first part...but only a few showing the differences between the Remake and Remastered. i played the Remastered and Part 2 and no doubt a game/series worth all the praise with a heck of a emotional ride. As good as the NEW PS version is and looks, not sure if I could play again especially knowing playing Part 2 would have to be done and that one was a serious emotional rollercoaster. Here's a good trailer/video showing a lot of the detail improvements between the two.

How far for revenge is too much? The second game really make you think of this. Are Ellie, Joel, Abby good people that have to do bad things? Or are they bad people because they do those bad things? It's incredible the world that Naughty Dog built and fully rendered environments for you to run through to escape enemies to never explore that environment again.

Without divulging too much...majority of everyone who played both thinks there can be more especially with the ending. And there's been several theories as to the How & Who. They be hard pressed to top or even equal the story behind TLoU1 let alone 2...BUT....seems the door just opened so tiny bit....

Just finished the game, don't think it was as good as the first, but still great.
While I eventually didn't mind Abby, I was still Team Ellie all the way through.
Even during the end of Seattle Day 3
I'm curious how this will be adapted on the show, it's way too long for just one season.

I've heard they are going to split the second game into 2 seasons, though I don't know if that was official or just people speculating.

Yeah, I mean if you hated Abby for her actions, her side of the story is so much harder than Ellie's. If you wanted to see her dead, you get many, MANY options...especially in that damn hospital battle!

Finished my second playthrough. In my first time I hated Abby and her sections. Now I can see her justification for what she did.
Both Ellie and Abby had their reasons for justice/revenge. I still side more with Ellie in the end though...
I assume ND is working on Part three? With the development time between 1 and 2 my guesstimate is 2026?

Don’t count on the multiplayer TLOU to come out anytime soon.

Not a massive cut per se, but does seem to point to the fact that the MP game is further away than anyone expected, which should not be surprising since no official date has ever been announced.

Layoffs were communicated internally at the Santa Monica, California-based studio last week, according to two sources familiar with the situation. Departments ranging from art to production were impacted, but the majority of those laid off worked in quality assurance testing. The sources said at least 25 developers were part of the downsizing. Full-time staff do not appear to have been part of the cuts. Naughty Dog’s headcount was over 400 as of July.

Bloomberg reported in June that Sony had diverted resources away from the project following a negative internal review by Bungie, the recently acquired live-service powerhouse behind Destiny 2. One source now tells Kotaku that the multiplayer game, while not completely canceled, is basically on ice at this point.

I saw that and I'm really wondering what's going on with all these Layoffs across the entire industry it seems.....last few weeks it's been a story here and there about this Dev Hit By Layoffs.....I didn't expect it from ND at all but this is sad...
