Every Target near me has them listed in stock. I'm tempted to pick one up but I think I'm going to wait until Christmas. By then we may have a price drop and the library should be much better.

Best Buy has them in stock online right now.

Snagged one plus Zelda. This is exactly what I need right now. Major shit going on and the distraction will be most welcome.

EDIT....and it's gone.

Went to my local Best Buy and they had about 20 sitting behind the counter at the service desk. I picked one up as an impulse purchase but think that I will return it. With as little use as my Wii U got and the only Nintendo franchises I have interest in being Zelda, Metroid and Mario I can't justify keeping it.

On another note, after the NES Classic fiasco I figure Nintendo decided they better not screw this up otherwise the people ill be out for blood.

I ordered one from BestBuy.com and one from Walmart.com so my two sons could each have one. I placed both orders on Jan. 12th when the preorders first went live. Both were in store pickups.

Best Buy pickup went great. Got there around 11:15 last night and was out the door before midnight.

The Walmart order still was showing arrives by Tues. March 7. On Twitter, Walmart assured me that my preorder would be there in the store regardless of what the order said. Got to Walmart at 8am and they couldn't find any record of my order at all. So somehow one of the first preorders doesn't get fulfilled from their initial shipment? They seemed to have a bunch waiting for people that had done preorders within the store. They didn't have any in stock to buy at that point.

Luckily, I made it to Target by 8:30 and people were still in line buying them. I got one with about 9 left after me.

I'm assuming my Walmart order will eventually come in, but I'll just cancel it unless I find any friends that need one.

Target is OOS in my town, but is available in surrounding towns.

targets around here all show the grey joy-con version in stock, the red/blue all sold out. I'll be at Target later this afternoon to see if they really have them. I will get one eventually but probably not immediately.

Same here, is everyone picking up the red/blue or is the grey in higher shipment numbers?

I was totally expecting this to turn into a Sophie's Choice post...

Out of like 20 people in my line, all bought the red blue version except one person. But, Target had 40 grey and only 20 red blue. Seems like the red blue is more popular, but less were shipped than the grey.

My Best Buy online order was cancelled due to shenanigans. Walmart online order hasn't budged since I placed it, so who knows when that would have come. But PrimeNow comes through.

And now I realize most of the titles I ordered via the Visa Checkout promotion aren't launch titles.

The Amazon primenow consoles were only neon. Ditto for the Walmart orders that have been opening up off and on the past few days. I'd assume the grey version shipped more since it's more of a standard color.

Went to my local Target, near my work, a little before 11am just to get the U version of Zelda.

They still had a stack of Switch consoles unsold/unreserved, maybe 10 units.
Should sell out by this afternoon. This is definitely gonna be easier to come by than the NES classic.

They had a shit-ton of the Zelda games for the Switch, but only 3 copies for the U.

Surprised everyone seems to want the red/blue one, I only ordered grey myself.

Playing around with the system now and updating it... the tablet is a little thicker then I thought. I kind of expected it to be thinner like a modern tablet. Although I can't imagine how much worse the battery would be in that case.

I'm sure the comfort level of the Joy-Cons depend on the individual, but so far they feel pretty good to me.

Just got back from picking up Zelda for Wii U at Best Buy and they had a couple consoles sitting on a display table. The box is smaller than I thought it would be. I was a little surprised they still had some left.

Pro Controller is in stock right now on Amazon...

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Swit...pro+controller

I'm really tempted, but $70 is too damn expensive. And I really want to get used to using the Joy-Cons since I know i'll be playing this on the go a lot.

I've had the Switch hooked up for a little while but haven't actually fired up Zelda yet. My wife is already addicted to Snipperclips. We played through the third puzzle in world 2 in one rapid-fire succession. Some of these puzzles are incredibly short -- on the order of seconds -- while others take a few minutes.

Yeah, if anything, I would pick that pad up for $40ish at Black Friday.

I know, that's like a year away  . But I am still up in arms about their accessory pricing.

It's not much different then any other companies pricing. The last Xbox One controller I bought was $69.99.

I disagree, it's MSRP is already $10 higher then a regular Xbox One or DualShock 4 controller. And both of those are regularly on sale - I bought the new White Xbox controller for $40 (and it's $39 right now on Amazon!), so $70 is outrageous to me. I know it's a new item, but it should have at least been on par with MS and Sony pricing to start with.

From the Home screen you need to go up to your account "page" on the top left corner, it should show it under your Profile.

I dunno, it's not like the WiiU controller was on sale regularly. That said I did get one during the visa checkout Best Buy sale so keep a look out for that if it comes around again.

The online store is so sad with how empty it is... :(

I think the pricing on accessories stinks too. I've never been more annoyed at a launch in this regard. However, when I bought my XBONE at launch the controller was $75 for the version with the charge kit included (Pro controller equivalent), I remember thinking that was to high too.

When something is new and volume is still low prices will be higher. When things are more mature and supply plenty you do expect deals to be had, but today is literally launch day so not sure its fair comparison to compare a launch day accessory price with a 2 year old accessory pricing.

re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Thing is, MSRP on PS4/XBone controllers has always been $59.99. As you note, you bought a version of the controller with an included accessory.

I'm not so sure the pricing has anything to do with being closer to launch. the JoyCon sets, for example, are also outrageously priced but this is probably because of all the gimmicky BS Nintendo insisted on building into them.
