I'm hating Puyo Puyo because I suck at it. I rock at Tetris. But I'm stuck in Adventure Mode because of Puyo Puyo. I know what I need to work on, it's just difficult. I'm having trouble planning chains.

So like seven Final Fantasy games are half off at their lowest price ever and I don't know if I would like them and there's no time to get them from GF and there's no demo.

I think only three (The X/X2 collection, XII and World of FF Maxima) even have physical releases in the US. If you've never played an FF before now (not even VII), and given your preference for easy games, I 'm not sure you'd like them. All of them involve a lot of grinding. I'd say put X/X2 in your queue and try it out (I would say get IX if it had a physical release, I adore that game). Don't worry about the sale prices, these are the lowest they've been but they are only matching the lowest they've been, and they will go on sale again.

Yeah that's good advice plan for next sale and add x/x2 to the queue. And for all the talk of loving rpgs I haven't cracked open the dragon quest nor octopath demos. Disgaea is also on sale for 3 of them and I haven't touched the demos.

FF games go on sale all the time, always for that price.

You might consider XV Pocket Edition which is a retelling of FF XV story in a simpler game with easier gameplay . It's only $14.99 now and still has a lot of content

I thought that turn-based RPGs were the cornerstone of the FF series but that's a video of an action RPG. Makes the decision easy.

Final Fantasy games haven't been traditional turn based in like 20 years.

The Gunvolt games (and it spinoff) are finally on sale for the Switch, so I nabbed them!

Banner Saga Trilogy is on sale at Target for an insane 80% off at $9.99. Looks like it is sold out online but may be available in store. Three great games. It’s a weird way it is distributed— the cart doesn’t have all the game content on it but it triggers a download of the rest. No codes to redeem, you just need memory space in the Switch.

Also the SHMUP game Pawarumi is 85% off in the eShop right now on three day sale for $2.99. It’s normally $19.99. It was a well received SHMUP and looks pretty nice.

Come on folks - Super Mario Odyssey or Luigi’s Mansion 3? What shall be next?

I've never played Luigi's but some kid was playing it at a brewery this weekend and it did look pretty cool. Mario Odyssey is fun and very easy overall, just remember the ending comes about half way through the game content wise.

The last classic turn based FF game (main title series, not including mobile) was FF10 on PS2.

However, in this case, I think the only one that's not turn based that's on the switch are XII and 15 Pocket edition. 7, 8, 9, 10 (maybe not 10-2) and World of FF Maxima are all turn based, IIRC.

Both are great. Luigi's Mansion has so much charm, I'd highly recommend this one first. Played it with my son and had a blast.

I thing Mario Odyssey is a better game, but they're both great and it's almost October. Perfect time to play Luigi Mansion 3. That game is a lot of fun and so cute.

Especially if you have someone else to play with. One of my favorite local multiplayer experiences this gen (although it does take a little bit to get to a point where it’s two-player).

Cool, thanks all. I think I’ll go Luigi for Halloween’s sake and play it with my son.

Started Luigi tonight with my daughter. It's taking a bit to unlock co-op mode.

And dying all the time isn’t the end of the world as you keep powering up and advancing the story. It’s a cool game and I love that it has a launch sale ($19.99 instead of $24.99 for the first week or two). Made by the Bastion and Transistor guys, has been in Early Access on Steam for over a year to iron out bugs. It’s really well reviewed. I tried it and I suck. But hopefully will get better.

How far have you made it? I've died 9 times so far and made it to the end of Elysium but keep dying on the bosses there.

I never thought I'd see a Microsoft owned character in a Super Smash Bros. game...
