Re: For Honor - PS4/XB1
Remember there's been talk of extra play modes being added. I would be surprised if we get a king of the hill and capture the flag modes.
I didn't have any issues downloading the game it was quite fast. Unfortunately Ubisoft has decided on P2P servers instead of dedicated ones.
I personally loved the game part of the re-playability comes from character level and gear progression and customisation and that keeps me involved.

The open beta will include the new Elimination mode, a best-of-five series of four-on-four battles with no respawns, which will be available alongside the Dominion, Brawl, and Duel modes that were in the closed beta. Nine heroes will be playable in the open beta, while a full roster of 12 will be available when the game launches.

I wonder if we have to DL the beta again or can we keep what we have?. I saw something pop up yesterday "File Added to For Honor"...so if that's the case then cool. I think the open beta might help but this coming in at the 1th hour......I don't know....

Re: For Honor - PS4/XB1
The best part of the game by far was the adrenaline and pure joy you get by being part of a great fight. Fights are like a Chess battle. Which each round or fight you have to adapt and be aware of how your opponent is going to adapt. It all comes down to understanding your own hero plus your opponents hero and the actual players tendencies. That's where the magic of this game lies.

So can we use the "old beta" or not because last night when I got on another file was added to the beta...that's like number three so far. I'm actually glad it's a open beta instead and may appeal to far more...it's just being sooooo close to release date....

I've got to check the forum because I got another "update" last night....I'm going to set some time up this coming weekend for a second chance and if anything see how the servers are going to react to this open beta when day 1 players were complaining they couldn't even get in certain matches. I wouldn't be surprised there were a lot looking at the game and slightly disappointed it was a closed beta....we shall see...

This game doesn't run on dedicated servers it's peer to peer.

Re: For Honor - PS4/XB1
Well I found the answer to the "if you had the closed beta" question....
http://www.dualshockers.com/2017/02/...ta-preloading/
Users that played in the previous closed beta for For Honor the other week will be able to download an automatic update — if they already had the closed beta client still installed — on all platforms to convert it into the open beta. If you had the closed beta client downloaded but deleted it, you can simply redownload the client again, which will then activate an update to bring you into the open beta once its finished.
In total, the closed beta weighs in around 20-30GB (depending on the platform you’re playing on), so definitely make sure you free up some space if you need it for the beta client. The open beta for For Honor will be running from February 9th – 12th, arriving just a few days before the game’s final release

Re: For Honor - PS4/XB1
I like it so far, but not enough to go out and get. I think this is one where you'll play for awhile, then be tired and move onto something else. I played for about 6 hours.
The combat is fairly complex, and there are many different combos and different scenarios that can play out.

Forgot this started last night but I'll give it a go again. But I get the same feeling...good and a rush at first but doubtful playing it long and over several days....except for the true diehard MP players out there.
And on another Ubisoft game...Ghost Recon: Wildlands will have a open beta later this month.

Re: For Honor - PS4/XB1
The rest of the modes that they introduced this weekend were far worse than the main mode in the original beta. Unless there is some crazy cool single player shit we haven't seen yet, this one is a hard pass for me.

I'll pick this up when it's $20 in two weeks... it's Ubisoft after all.

I've seen a few friends on my list playing....I know I saw something the other day servers were down and some big patch. Several game sites gave it scores around "8 of 10", tips on playing, etc.... I haven't checked the official Ubisoft For Honor Forum lately to see what's up and being said. I want to see and wait after a month to read feedback on playing though.

I haven't posted because I've been playing so much. I'm already a prestige 4. Finished the campaign on hard. The game isn't perfect but it's a blast.

Re: For Honor - PS4/XB1
I finally got around to picking this up from the library and finished the campaign over the week. Honestly it was the perfect rental. The campaign didn't overstay it's welcome (took about 5 hrs to finish) and gave you a chance to play as each of the character classes. It reminded me as a really polished version of Dynasty Warriors. Overall, check it out as a rental or pick it up when it's dirt cheap.
