Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like things are starting to stabilize somewhat. I'm not getting all those freezes on captures. That's a big improvement. I still notice that sometimes it helps to force close the app and then reopen. I have to do that when things aren't popping up or when friends see things I don't.

Definitely more stable the last two days. Radar still broken though....

She doesn't usually want anything to do with these sorts of things and now, boom, she's telling me all about her latest captures. She even called me on my way home from work to tell me there's a Pikachu lurking around our neighborhood, I should go get it.

Not sure if related but the Pokemon section of my local target was absolutely ransacked the other day (and they usually have a bunch of stock). Extremely smart to release this prior to Sun and moon even if there's only a residual affect. Plus all the money it's making them. That projection about this game making apple alone 3 billion over the next year is ridiculous.
I actually thought Nintendo got hosed making only that hardware peripheral (which isn't even out yet) but even that should sell like hot cakes at least early on. |

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Past several days have been very stable whenever I had a chance to get on. Saturday we went shopping at Oak Brook center (wife had a Apple store appt and I hit B&N for a couple Criterions) and there were Pokemon all over the place, including several stops. I managed to snag a 415 Raticate that was higher than anything else I already had.
And there's news from SDCC that trading is coming. |
Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Ever since finding some great areas that have massive amounts of Pokestops I'm hooked on this game. Lvl 12 currently and my best catch so far has been Snorlax and Dratini :)

Looks like they did a bunch of nerf/buffing. Seems vaporeon is still a beast but not nearly as strong. Some buffing too. My Lapras special attack went from 70 to 120. Going to go out tonight and capture a bunch of gyms and test out what works and what doesn't. |
Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Just reading through the Reddit thread for Toronto that the Pokemon nests for rare Pokemon has changed since yesterday to go along with the nerd/buffing of the pokemon ones as indicated by flair. I'm only at Lv. 14 and I have seen guys taking over gyms that are at 33.

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
If you plan to spend money on this game the best value is the item bag upgrades. I was able to get my item count up to 950 (max is 1,000) for $20. I'm transferring my pokemon all the time for extra candy so i don't see the need in upgrading Pokemon storage. With item bag i kept having to trash items to make room. Well worth the money imo.
They also need to fix transferring Pokemon. It's a PITA to transfer 20 pidgeys when you have to individually select each and every one  They need to make it as easy as trashing items. |
Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
The zoo in Topeka has 15 Pokestops, so they decided to do a Poke Safari as a fundraiser. From 6-8:30 they were going to set lures, and you could walk around catching Pokemon for $3. They were expecting a couple hundred people and over 1600 showed up. They are doing it again this Thursday.

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
This game doesn't have any play if you're at home watching TV is that right?
|
Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Depends if you get spawns or not. I get spawns all day on my couch, but my buddy at work says he never gets any spawns where he lives.
New update is available. Rather than fix the footsteps on the radar, they just removed them completely... |

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
So there was an update today for the app. Looks like you can change your outfit and colors. One thing I noticed is the poke stop right outside the hospital where I work is gone suddenly. They must be removing them now per complaints

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
They better get their own Tracking fixed ASAP if they shut down these sites:
'Pokémon GO' Cuts Off Access To Pokévision And Other Creature-Finding Apps |
Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Without in game tracking or something like poke vision, I'm pretty much done playing for awhile. No real reason to go higher than level 30 since Pokemon are capped at 30. Not to mention the grind from 30 to 40 is insane.
At 100/150, I've pretty much caught and evolved everything in my area. The rest I'll have to get from hatching eggs. I guess I'm down to walking eggs and driving to 10 quick gyms with three friends and cashing out every night. |
Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Question about gyms.
How come when visiting a blue gym, I don't have the opportunity to join it, only battle? Also, what's the deal with this, I went to a blue gym, again, and battled and defeated the one guy holding the gym twice? Yet wasn't able to take over or do anything special. |

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
I've never once used game tracking or any poke vision type sites nor do I know anyone personally that has.

Whereas I view this as more the spirit of Pokemon. Catching them in the wild without knowing exactly where and when they spawn is how games should be.
Were you playing when the tracker worked? Playing now is like playing blind folded. I just walk around with my phone in my back pocket waiting for it to buzz so I can catch another 400cp pidgey. Before that it was me intently watching the in game tracker hunting down the Pokemon I actually cared about while hitting stops on the way. Much more fun to see what's around you and hunt it, in my opinion. Now all I can really do is walk around downtown blind and hope I run into something interesting. Not nearly as fun, but at least it hatches eggs. |
