Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
http://kotaku.com/ubisoft-announces-...ium=Socialflow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xjS...ium=Socialflow And now it’s time for an annual Ubisoft tradition: the announcement of an announcement. Per this lame teaser, Watch Dogs 2 will be officially unveiled on Wednesday at 12pm Eastern (June 8, 2016). Fortunately, Kotaku has already learned most of the important details about Watch Dogs 2: It’s set in San Francisco, it stars a black hacker named Marcus, and we’re expecting it for PS4/XB1/PC this fall (unless they’ve delayed it for some reason). Two days ‘til we see the game in action. |

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I liked the first game, although it had a lot of issues. I'd probably get this, but not at full price.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Rumor is that it is set in San Francisco.

Neither is it a rumor about being in San Fran... I thought we were making fun of the oldboy... my bad

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
No problem. I am interested in this game but will likely get it when it is about 30-40 bucks. We will see how it plays out come tomorrow.

Coming 11/15/16
Looks like that teaser has been taken down |

I guess I am in the minority... but I really liked the first game.. day one

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
This game looks more fun than I expected. I just might get it on day one.

I have seen that argument a lot and laugh when people not only comment once but over and over again trying to persuade people to simply dismiss this game. There was nothing in the game reveal videos that look like they will need to be downgraded.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I like Watch Dogs on a conceptual level, I hope they figure out how to make it into a good game.
|
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I find it a little odd that they are ditching everything that they set up in the first game to go with a completely new location and character. Didn't the first one sell pretty good?
|
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Yeah Shea - you missed the point of the video. Ubisoft promises an exceptionally polished game on most of their titles only to delivery the exact opposite.
New trailer looked amazing...definitely not picking this one up until I see it action though. |
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I get the point of the video as I have seen it many times. At what point do we just move on and see what happens with this one?
|
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
When Ubisoft delivers?

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I really enjoyed the first game. It had flaws, but it did a half decent job at the first game in the series. This looks like it takes everything and improves on them. Looks very nice in the videos.
And someone mentioned why they decided to set this in a different city with a different lead character, well they have done that repeatedly with the GTA series and i prefer it that way. I would not want to keep revisiting the same city and character. I do hope they make it a little easier with the cops in this one. In the first game th cops went from nothing to all out chasing far too quickly and were much harder to shake than in the GTA games. Made it feel more unrealistic and more of a pain when playing. |

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
When I saw the announcements for the first game I was amazed. It looked really revolutionary and advanced. I actually thought it would be too hard for me. I think I didn't get the game on release date.
When I played the first game I realized that the game was nothing like the previews I've watched. But after a few hours I was just having so much fun. I didn't get all the achievements, I didn't care about several aspects of the game, but the game gave me 30+ hours of fun. Being from the SF Bay Area, I expect the new game to do the same. But, San Francisco is really small. I could walk through all of SF in one hour. Remember, SF is just 49 square miles. |
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
This comes out tomorrow. I've got a copy on the way from GameFly. Looks like no early reviews but impressions are trickling in now. I'm looking forward to messing around with it later this week.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Apparently Ubisoft has (temporarily) pulled the plug on PvP Multiplayer, so most review scores are tentative or incomplete.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I ended up spending lots of hours with the first one. Looking forward to it. I really want to play Mafia III as well. Might get Mafia on the cheap next week, play it, then grab this on discount. This fall is crazy with all the big releases.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I played with this for an hour or so. I don't really feel the urge to keep playing. I dunno maybe it's just because I just started and haven't unlocked a lot but as of now I'd rank it 6/10.

I am a little farther than you and I can see your point. The game feels empty and does not do a good job of getting you into it. That being said, around hour 2 things started to click for a me a bit. My advice focus on main story missions for a while and you will get pulled in.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Reached the five hour mark. The game just....meh. Much like Mafia 3, the city itself feels lifeless and devoid of personality. It also feels about as empty as Batman: Arkham City. And I'm finding it nearly impossible to identify with the main character and his narrative. At the point I'm at there really isn't a purpose to what he's doing or why. Mechanically, its very similar to the first game along with its convoluted control scheme. I'm trying not to be down on it but overall it's definitely not something you need to pay full retail for.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
I'm liking it a lot more as I play more. Controlling cars is hilarious. Sending the cops after people is fun, too.

Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Finished..25 hours
As far as story goes...typical 6th grade video game bullshit... As far as an open world game...fantastic. I loved taking down missions and never triggering an alarm or being seen. I feel the upgrade that lets you drop your stun/regular grenades almost breaks the game but in a good way. After the disappointing open world gameplay of Mafia 3 (which at least had a fantastic story) it was nice playing such a polished creation. If they could have combined the story and acting elements of Mafia 3 with this game, it would have been game of the year. I would have liked to try out the online hacking, but still not word on when they will fix it. |

Then it just got a lot more fun - a lot has to do with how much there is to do in the game and how interactive and lively the NPC's are - a ton of work went into this game - it's not boring at all like GTA V - when you free roam in this game, there is usually always something going on to where you can sit back and just watch - very cool. Someone mentioned the story is pretty bad, I agree but I'm not going to lie (and some youtube reviewer feels the same way I do), I got caught up in it. it moves fast and you'll always want to see what happens next but I should note, I might only be halfway through so I don't know if it gets worse or better. Game is excellent - I don't think I've ever played a title that is so freakin' lively and colorful like this before. |
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Anyone playing on PC? How's it run?
EDIT: Nevermind - it's not even out on PC yet. Carry on. |
Re: Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XB1/PC, Fall 2016?)
Wrapped it up last night, everything except the MP missions. I think I'm around 15 hours and went about 95% non-lethal. For me, it will be instantly forgettable. But if you can grab it for around $20 I think it's worth a buy.
