The environmental effects actually factor into gameplay on conquest now which is great. Good luck sniping in a sandstorm haha.

Amazon dropped the ball on this one for me, and then they picked it right back up again.
Preorders like mine aren't arriving today on release date, but on next Tuesday, October 25. It's not just me, many people are asking about it on the Q&A section of the item page. It's a bummer, because as a Prime member I get guaranteed release date plus 20% off new games so $47.99 ($51.72) is my best deal. However, it's not coming today. Not only that, if I order it today, the item page says it will arrive on Sunday and meanwhile, the original order is already too far along in processing to cancel so I have to refuse the package.
I contacted Amazon about this and they gave me a $10 promotional credit, plus let me reorder today and they're paying the 1-day weekend shipping so it arrives tomorrow. That's $37.99 plus tax for $40.94. They also said when I refuse the package I don't have to worry about the return shipping and that item's cost will be refunded to me. I thought all of that was very generous.
I think they simply messed up on the release date. Most release dates for this sort of thing are Tuesdays and here's a Friday one. Something in their system simply didn't click the right way, it's unfortunate.
I have Sunday night and most of Monday off, if anyone wants to squad up, thanks.

Well, I wouldn't sweat as it appears that the servers got destroyed today already, and that they're down, but should be back up by the time you get the game.

I put this in, but I can't play it!
It says that I don't have enough system storage to install, but I have 140 gigs free, so WTF?

Nope. Tried that. Deleted a couple things, and it still says there's not enough system memory (I have over 150 gigs open). I re-installed those games I deleted and they installed just fine, so the issue is ONLY with Battlefield1, so WTF?

Finally got it to install, don't know what I did, it just finally happened.
Anyhoo, played some of the campaign. Starts off strong, then it gets dull. Ran into a glitch (a tiny one) where you need to kill a tank to progress, but the tank was killed and nothing was progressing, then I shot it some more, then it finally moved on. Dumb.
Played some multiplayer - it feels like Battlefield multiplayer, which is a good thing. But I suck - I got killed 10 times for ever one person I killed - I kept getting killed by players I couldn't see at all, and each time I got a kill, it was pure luck on my part. Felt like I'm late to the party, even though the game just came out.

Loving it so far.
Actually had a decent multiplayer round tonight and was near the top of the board, which for me is rare

I played it today a fair bit and about half way through the campaign. Really fantastic. Love the level with the windmills where you have to collect parts for the tank. Stealthy action levels like this have great replay.
Not tried multiplayer yet, but will get around to it. One thing that is very apparent with this game is the fact that COD have really dropped the ball on not returning to older style games. Still so much potential for old style war games, but they seem to be more concentrating on modern or future style warfare. That's all well and good, but I would love to see releases returning to WW2 and other historical battles.

You'd think DICE would have that part figured out by now, but it always seems to be an issue when BF games launch.
I'll try and join you if I ever see you on, but like I said, its way more complicated than it should be.

Bf1 has a menu where you can access Bf4, which went through some new updates, but on the PS4 you still have to stick in the disc - maybe not if you have Bf4 digitally.

It is well worth getting Blu. I have still got to get round to multiplayer, but even if its half as good as the campaign then its something special. Great game so far.
I had a funny glitch in the game last night. On a stealthy level heading through a village i had killed a number of soldiers using a gun with a silencer. So i hide behind a wall next to a door and lure a soldier towards me. I see through the walk his silhouette getting closer and wait for him to go through the door to shoot. Only he keeps walking right through the wall and sees me at the last second. Set the alarms going and that was the end of my stealth. Made me laugh and didn't spoil the fun, but looking forward to a patch.

Our local library finally ordered some copies, so I put in a request. I'll play through the campaign and dabble in the multiplayer for a bit, and then pick it up down the line once they have a good deal with all of the DLC. I think I ended up getting B4 Premium for like $20 on sale that way.

Yeah this is a 7.50 rental from Family Video for me. Beat the campaign during the first day since it's about 5 hours and spend the next 4 days playing MP. Enjoy my time and then wipe my hands clean of it.
