As the thread title asks, how many hours per week do you guys spend playing video games?

With so much entertainment mediums out there (TV, movies, music, streaming etc.) along with gaming, there's just so much to do to keep ourselves busy with so little time outside of work, eating and sleep.

As for me, I like gaming, but I barely have the time to do it. I would say my hours are at most 5.

I'm like you. While there are certainly some times when I really get into a game and have free time (and can play for many hours at a time), over the long haul I don't think I average more than an hour a day. Full-time job + real-life commitments + other sources of entertainment that I don't want to give up (movies, tv, music, internet) = limited time to play games.

I voted 11-20, but it varies quite a bit. Sometimes it will only be a couple hours a week if i'm busy, other times i'll get to relax and play for a few hours at night or on the weekend. Sometimes I'll get an hour in at work too

Yup, I got 4-5 new PS4 games this past Christmas that I haven't even touched yet because they are "story" type games that require so much of a time investment that I don't really have. It's next to impossible for me to sit down after work or on a day off and spend 5-7 hours playing a game. If I did that, I would get nothing done.

TV and Movies are the biggest entertainment mediums that occupy my time outside of work.

I voted 1-10. With a full time job, a house, and a wife w/ two kids, it's damn near impossible to get any more than that. I used to be able to take some vacation days here and there to stay home and play some games, but now I use that for sick time with the kids and projects around the house.

I play 1-10 on average. But there'll be some weeks where I focus on reading or binge watching a TV show. In those weeks I might only get in an hour or two.

I've got two young children with a stay at home wife. This leads to very little down time where I can play games. Every once in a while, I'll tell her a few days in advance that I'm going to bury myself in the basement to play, but that's rare.

1-10 per week.

I'm single with very few obligations, I get maybe 1 - 10 hours a week in, it just doesn't keep my interest like it used to.

It's tough to average for me. I either play a lot in one week (for me, "a lot" in one week is about 5 hours, but concentrated over a couple days), or I play nothing at all. No in between. It's kind of dependent on if there's a new game out or not, and how busy I am that given week.

Glad there's 1-10 option. I rarely play, but when I do I'll sink a number of hours into it at a time. 10 max per week sounds about right.

The easy answer...it depends.

For the last 4 months my game time has been 0 hours.

Now with Dark Souls 3 and Uncharted 4 coming soon my gaming is closer to the 0-10 or 11-20 per week. Once I finish those games, I'll probably be in a lull again.

1-10 vote for me... but if you narrowed it to 1-3, that'd be my window. It sucks because my brain loves the idea of a new game and settling in to a great experience... but then it takes me 6 months to get thru a 10 hour game or I never get to a game at all.

I don't have a routine. Some weeks I won't play any games at all. Some weeks I'll practically do nothing but. I'm not even sure what my average would be. I tend to go all-in on one game at a time, so it depends more on what comes out and when more than anything else.

My average is pretty high due to my addiction to marvel puzzle quest.

It varies, but generally from 5 to 15 hours a week.

Pretty much my exact excuse - except I have 3 kids. I actually try to squeeze an hour in every night after the kids go down and I get any work stuff sorted for the next day. So I'll play after 9 until 10-10:30. It's been this way for about a month now. Took a break from the DVR catchup.

It kinda depends. I'm in the 11-20 hour range for the week, but when games like Red Dead Redemption were released move me more to the "I have no life" section. So it all balances it out to a couple hours a day. I'm including the one hour I spend with my daughter on the wii that she gets after homework. She never gets tired of me hitting her with a red shell on Mario kart.

I probably average 20-30. I have a full time job and married but we're not having kids so I have plenty of free time.

1-10 for me. i work fulltime and have a wife with 2 toddlers. We are having another baby in November. Gaming time isn't what it used to be.

its my post work ritual everyday I even go home at lunch and play just to reset its great! I'd say games take up all my free time which you have a lot of if you are an introvert, have no partner or kids

I dont consider it an addiction playing as much as I do has actually helped me cut back on smoking and evening snacking because I keep my hands busy and helps with mental health too.

It depends. Some weeks, I'll really be in the mood to play games, others, not so much.

I haven't played my console in weeks.
