I've been playing a little less since I started playing WoW again. My daughter still plays a lot

Slop, you really going to be playing this in May of 2018?

Yes!!! I'm at level 365 and ranked Platinum in competitive working my way to Diamond. I have met awesome people in this game. If you play on Xbox One and want to meet some good competitive players hit me up.

Just cause members aren't writing about it doesn't mean we aren't playing. ;)

^^Nice. Just wondering. My brother was thinking of buying this and it made me realize I posted on this thread, thinking the game would be dead by now. Never looked back in to my original post. Do rookies still have a chance?

Speaking as a rookie, Overwatch is very friendly. High level players have experience and some cosmetic thingies but nothing else -- no special armor, weapons inaccessible to newer players, etc. The character types are all very different, and pretty much anything one experienced player throws out you can be countered/evaded by a neophyte. The teamwork element is a benefit too. It's not "every man for himself" out there.

It's different if you're playing ranked matches, but with quick play, the playing field is surprisingly level.

No offense, but your prediction isn't even close if you think the game is somehow dying based on the reaction from this particular forum that gets little traffic as it is. Aside from still charting on NPD last month as well as on international sales charts, the last public figure at the start of August had over 15 million accounts created, more then double since launch in May.

It will be interesting how many active players on consoles given the shooter competition coming in the next month, but it's insanely popular on PC, especially as the competitive scene ramps up. Trust me ;)

Match making groups you by level and skill, so it's not like you would be grouped up with people that have played hundreds of hours at the start.

So I played this the first couple of weeks and stopped (internet sucked and life happened). What things have I missed? Seems like there is FINALLY some rankings from what I can read.

A new character (Ana), a new map (Eichenwalde), and competetive seasons.

Yeah, lots of games promise this, but Overwatch actually delivers. It probably helps that the player base is huge.

what are you secrets/pro-tips?

Secrets? Practice Practice Practice... YouTube is a wonderful source for hero selection and strategies. I main Lucio and am hovering around the top 10 percentile for competitive and quick play. I'm also in the top 25% with Reinhardt.

I play with different groups but they all love having me because I play a good support. On competitive matches I usually average about 20K plus healing with 20-30 eliminations and 7 deaths and 5 minutes of objective time.

We usually go with a 2-2-2 team meaning 2 supports usually Lucio and Zenyatta, 2 tanks always a Reinhardt and depending on whether we attacking or defending Zarya or Winston or Dva. A competent Zarya is invaluable. Then I love have a Pharah and any other offense hero or a great Mei.

Try to practice with and get familiar with 2 of each hero category if so you will always be an asset to any team.

A quick suggestion stay way from Torbjorn and Bastion you will be rendered useless on higher levels and for now also Widowmaker she needs to be buffed and you will be the ire of your teammates if you pick her.

Hope this helps.

Cool. Thanks

I've been working on Zenyatta and Zaria. I noticed the 2-2-2 set up when watching the competitive matches they were streaming around a month ago for some tournament.

Re: Overwatch from Blizzard (May for PC, Xbox One & PS4)

Yeah now there's a 3-3 that's becoming popular. 3 tanks and 3 supports. The key is having a very good Ana.

In my wife's very first Quick Play, she got a quadruple kill with D.Va's self destruct, popped an achievement for it, and got Play of the Game. I think I might be outclassed.

That's awesome. The game is very noob friendly. As you progress you'll find players get better at avoiding ultimates and you have to be a bit more clever at surprising your enemies.

The Overwatch Halloween season event is almost upon us!!! I expect it to start anywhere from tomorrow through Tuesday. Tuesday being the most likely scenario.

All I wanted from the Summer Olympic event was the Mercy skin. And I never got it. I even bought 10 loot boxes.

My luck will probably never give me this Mercy skin either... even though she is by far my most played character. :(

Well good news for those that were upset about missing out on Summer Games loot. All Halloween Terror items can be purchased with in game currency.

I saw that. Going to wait to the last day to spend the currency to get the Mercy skin if it doesn't come in a crate. Because there are also some sprays and voice lines I would love to get. Lol

Heck, Mei even has a great intro for the holiday.
