Overwatch from Blizzard (May for PC, Xbox One & PS4)
 

Hello

Didn't see a thread started on this but here is one. It's a different style game we've seen from Blizzard, the fine folks who have brought us the Diablo series but here is the multi-player shooter (6 v 6) they have come out with. The official site is here with tons of info about the game and a slew of characters (21 in all) to choose from.....

Here is a recent footage of gameplay on the PS4...12 minutes worth and the game is actually looks good....if you like the cell-look.....a.k.a Borderlands....




...May will be busy along with some choices to make between Battleborn & Overwatch with both looking pretty good.

There was some controversy over the victory pose of one of the female characters. It was quickly contradicted by the fan base with:

there is a thread about it some where. Some of us have been in the beta for months now.
its a lot of fun. I'm torn between getting it for PC or xbox one. I'll probably get it for PC, tho, since i'm terrible aiming with a controller vs mouse

Sorry..but for some reason I'm having trouble actually embedding videos now....I'll hit the "copy embed code'...paste...see the code and all but after the post all I see is a blank white spot where the video is...no idea why or what it is.

Love Diablo and Blizzard is outstanding...just a bit different style of game from them and a bit off-the-wall as well. The beta for Battleborne starts 04/07 thru 04/17. I'm playing the Paragon beta now and like it....f

We had a pretty big turnout at PAX East for the console version of the game, although it's only PC for me. I just can't do controllers for this type of thing. :) The Penny Arcade guys had a match at the show too on stage which was a lot of fun to watch. The reaction seemed good at the show, hope people love it.

Gamespot put together a nice little 3 part documentary on how Overwatch came to be as well - from using pieces of the failed project Titan, the inspiration from old school 90's shooters, and the focus on the heroes.

I got back from a work trip just in time to get a few games in before beta ended. I'll have to buy this on PC since trying to use a joystick to aim would be way too frustrating for me

Is the beta that's hitting I think next week open or closed to those who pre-order? Being a fan of Blizzard, I'm curious as how this will pan out considering it's not their type of game or known to be famous far.

It's open a few days earlier for preorders, then open to anyone and everyone after.

The somewhat similar Battleborn has a single player campaign, but Overwatch is multiplayer only.

Yeah, there's no single player campaign but there are bots/AI to play against.

Did not know about the AI Bots part but that's fine. I'm playing Paragon (PS4) and it's solo with all AI with friendly and foe with AI minions, co-op with human team against AI team or PVP. Without a campaign' story mode with coop it'll have to come up with a bit more to entice players but the game does look good and fun

I can't wait to not play this or Battleborn.

Multiplayer centric games can go to hell. I'll avoid this like I did Destiny and the Division.

I'm looking forward to the open beta so I can see if my wife will be as obsessed with this as she was with Splatoon.

You do know you can play Destiny and Division as single player games, correct? Now I could see closer comparisons to Evolve and Titanfall, but not Destiny and Division.

Any PC folks want an early access code for the open beta? Started yesterday, so you'll get a couple days before it opens up for everyone. I just have one extra.

Nope. XBox Live Rewards was sending out some codes for early access, but I checked my email and spam and didn't see one :(

Warming my heart to see folks on Reddit or NeoGAF enjoying the game for the first time and having positive reactions. I'm biased, but this is already my favorite game Blizzard has put out :p

I have too many good memories of playing WoW so that will probably always be my fav Blizz game.
After WoW, I started playing CS:GO so Overwatch was timed perfect for me, haha.

Supposedly Battleborn as well. But that's why I said centric. Meaning "oh you'll have more fun playing MP."

Going to put this in the battleborn thread too...but I think this game is going to tank big time. Much like the other. Anybody who had a 360...Brink come to mind?
