Only 162 minutes? The average has really dropped since I left.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
We really need some new content. Since by Baze is still a work in progress, I'm pretty much just doing enough arena to stay in Top 50, and after GW, there's really nothing to do but sim.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
When are they going to release the fan favourite?
Also I hope that they start making improvements to Ships as they haven't touch them since they were released last year. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Well, I finally did it. Quit cold turkey after 18 months of playing daily. The game is truly amazing to entice me to do that.
Seemed like a good time. I left having achieved #1 in Arena, having built a seven star, gear 11, fully zeta'd squad that could beat any team I played against. That'll change in probably a week, so I'd prefer to go out on top. It was a good addiction while it lasted, but it's time to get my life back. |

They provide no updates and just sit around collecting cash. Fuck them. |

Sad to see you go JuryDuty but I understand. I'm just going through the motions now.

I agree with Jury and Lopo as well. All I'm doing is the 600 guild energy per day, and pretty much I'm checked out of everything else. |

Anyone still plodding along with this?

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I'm still playing, but it's tough keeping up with the Joneses. Between getting kind of a late start and rarely paying real money, I feel like I'm a couple generations of characters behind everyone else.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I still am. I don't spend a dime on it though.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Same. And miss you Pin! I think there still is a good number of Talkers left.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Wow, pretty cool that it sounds like quite a few people are still playing. The community was the hardest part about leaving for me. Great team for sure.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I love Star Wars, but man do I really hate this game now.
Having said that, I am still "playing". -screwy- |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I was kicked from the guild last night. Really bummed, very surprised. Kicked, then informed of it. Not how I would've handled it. It's unfortunate.
I was told I'm not active enough. Was surprised because there were new rules about expectations and how to get kicked and I wasn't breaking those rules and wasn't warned personally, as far as I know. They didn't say it's any other reason, but behind it, too, could be that I'm not one of the top players (that new Sith raid is nuts and if you don't have the right squad rosters it's easy to end up Rank #45 if you're lucky), could also be I don't always have the best roster for each situation, though I'm really trying hard to remain F2P and just when you start chasing one set of characters it turns out you should've been chasing another set of characters. I don't know. I understand that officers want to change the direction of the guild. I wish they'd handled it differently. I honestly can't remember the last time I was cut from a team and it has a similar feeling to being dumped. I've joined another guild in the meantime and they seem nice and have an expectation level I think I can commit to and while I have an open mind, the pain is real and it truly won't be the same since its not with you all. I may check out the other Star Wars game that Supermallet mentioned, see how that goes. It's just a game, but it sucks. |

Gave this up almost a year ago, I think. The grind was just utterly tedious.

I'm not a part of the guild anymore but with the new Sith Heroic Raid if you aren't powerful and contributing, you are a liability. I have no idea why you were cut though.
Personally, I'm pretty sick of it, and really am only sticking around for the DVDTalkers still in the guild. |

With the exception of Killer, all the guild officers are external to DVDTalk. They have a real "elite" mentality to running the guild, and there is no room for the "casual" anymore, which in my opinion, was the best part of the guild.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Is that the Guild from the merger debacle?
I suppose there's a way to start a guild with people that's truly casual if we want but I don't even know how to get that going. I wonder if it's less about being "active" and my roster just isn't strong enough. That's my hunch. |

I wonder if it's less about being "active" and my roster just isn't strong enough. That's my hunch. You could easily start a casual guild, the problem is that this game very much rewards very active guilds. A casual guild won't get strong enough rewards to really matter. I think it would be more frustrating than rewarding, which is why once I got out just counted it a blessing and haven't gone back. Don't get me wrong--I LOVED this game. It's really great in so many ways, but once I left, I felt it was time to stay out. And it did open up a couple hours each day to do other things, even play other games that weren't as demanding. But dang it's hard to give up on something you've put so much time and strategy into. :( |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
It was fun but the carrot kept moving and it was just a race to keep up with the <s>Skywalkers</s> Joneses. Couple that with the guild size of 50 (which is just insane) with varying degrees of interest/commitment, it became a nightmare.
I loved solving the number problems and being crazy efficient with the guild we had. But it began to get exhausting dealing some of the, um, more vocal members. The merger debacle was a last-ditch effort to satisfy everyone and spread the power around. When it became clear that 50% of the people only cared about themselves and were not interested in shuffling power from the top to the bottom to benefit all 200 people in the long-term, we fell back to a single guild. By then I was spent. I don't regret the time with the game or you fine people, but I've never missed the grind! |

I noticed when you and a couple others were removed and wondered what had happened. I'm not a very strong player, but I am active though I don't always hit my 600 energy. I mentioned that in the LINE chat once and was told that it was OK to just do my best. I often used to expend crystals to make sure I hit the 600, but now I just get as close as I can. The struggle to figure out which characters to chase is real. I ignored the Hoth snow guys for forever until they became critical in Territory Battles. Then Territory Wars started, and I decided I wasn't carrying my weight until I maxed out my CLS, R2, Zarris, Zhan, and 5s, and those are now among my strongest characters. Except then I needed Jedi Training Rey and I had ignored the veterans too long to get them up to speed. And then Nightsisters became the big thing so now I'm working on those. Plus the Heroic Sith Raid and Dark Territory Battles. It's a neverending hamster wheel. |
