It's never good when a game takes over your life and seems more like work than fun. Thanks for all your efforts and help.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

And I want to be crystal clear on this: it was never the guild that did that. The guild, to me, was just a social construct which I enjoyed that added raids which presented problems that needed solving. Once those were solved, it became mundane.

Zeta meant you had to focus on ships which are otherwise completely disposable so I found myself farming characters I didn't want just to get through those hoops. Then I see how OP Clones and Barriss (another character I didn't farm in the beginning like everyone else) and it just broke me. I felt like I was being forced to start over by going after her and GS.

13 months on this game and because I didn't play "the right way" or spend enough or focus solely on Arena to keep the crystals coming in means I didn't have a chance for anything but mediocrity.

The raid is going well. I think it launched 8 hours ago, and there is only 1/3 left of P3. Obviously the new EPs are helping. I just watched a video of Chirpaltine and realized I misunderstood the strategy. I quadrupled my last P3 damage. Total derp on my part.

Pin, sad to see you go but totally understand. Thanks for steering the ship and doing a great job at it.

We are well into P4. I'd imagine it will be over by the time I get to work in the morning. Glad we didn't skip a beat. I had a feeling people would start dropping like flies if heroic tank became an issue. I want to make sure I'll have a use for the hundreds of carbanti that I've been farming in a month.

Yeah. I appreciate what you done pin: bringing me to CE and giving me the opportunity to meet great people. Having been in SH4 and how crappy it was, it gave me a better appreciation of what we have in CE. If CE falls apart, that's when I'm done with this game. Otherwise, I'll keep up with my dailies and try to place Arena in the top 50.

BTW Pin, I see that Univek is in a different guild since I still have him as an Ally. Was he unhappy being part of CE?

He's in a guild called Take A Break. Curious what their MO is. Maybe a place just to collect guild coins without running raids?

Haha! I have no idea what he's doing or what that guild is. Josh is probably correct. The way he described his decision to me was cold turkey quitting too.

I gotta be honest, I find each day to be just a little bit harder than the last to meet all the commitments. Knowing there is no "end game" kinda grounds me. I'm over the coolness of the game, I'm running on pure OCD.

^ That's it.

BTW, your leaders have begun to use an old chat that includes me. David asked zap if he wants to "go merc'ing" for a while. I have no idea why with all the cooldowns and lockouts. But keep an eye on people getting selfish.

Ok. I've got to be honest, you're one of many that have talked about the time involved with this game. It takes about 10 minutes a day to do everything other than challenges and arena. In what world is 10 minutes a day a commitment that cuts into your daily life?

Not trying to be a dick about it, I just want to know why everyone has suddenly soured on the game. I've never been big on arena, which is probably why I'm still playing.

Everyone clearly was ready to leave a while ago but at least they waited to see if we could do Tank on our own. It still would have been nice if people were warned. I have a feeling we are going to lose a lot of people because of the uncertainty of who is leaving next.

I wasn't in the DVDTalk guild, but I recently quit the game as well. It was fun about a year ago, but has turned into a complete grind, unfortunately.

It's not 10 minutes per day... it's 10 minutes between refreshes for Arena and Challenges. It's 15 - 20 minutes (if you have that straight) to do GW. It's logging in to get your bonus credits at 6am, Noon, 6pm, 9pm, etc.

So while I guess the total play time isn't a ton, it's designed to make you check in quite often -- which, again, if you're OCD or dedicated to it, can become cumbersome.

Edit - one more bitch... I have needed 5 Vader shards for 10 days now. Not a single drop for me to 7* him... it's almost as if the game is designed to know what you need and keep you dangling just a bit longer. I refuse to spend crystals to refresh.

You described what I went through towards the end of farming him as well. Just wait until you get him to 7* and he starts showing up all of the time. That's a real kick in the nuts.

That's what several CE members have told me.

I was at 94/100 forever before I quit. No way was I going to waste precious fleet credits on him.

Yeah, all those chunks add up, and I have trouble getting to the 600 energy expended even when I hit all my bonuses, don't let my energy max out, etc. so I don't feel like I can afford to miss anything.

Exactly. For a while there, I would log in when I woke up, play for about 40 minutes (all my dailies and arena), then log in again at lunch to get the bonus credits, more cantina, etc. Then again after dinner same thing. Then before bed, same thing. So while I could probably finish the entire game in about 45/min a day, because of the construct of the cooldowns, it really consumes your thoughts.

Since Pin's announcement, I'm logging in once per day, at lunch to do what I can in about a half hour. Two days ago--for the first time in nearly a year--I just forgot to log in. I guess that shows my state of mind right now.

I'm hanging on because I did farm Barriss early on and have 18 Zetas right now. I want to Zeta her and just see how she plays.

It's really better just doing one session a day...I feel like I got my mornings back...

They need to find a way to streamline everything. But all they do is add new stuff - tournaments, ships, raids, etc. Now they are talking about adding Ships v. Enemy, ship based raids, guild v. guild. I mean, come on. It's too much.
