Personally, I'm pretty sick of it, and really am only sticking around for the DVDTalkers still in the guild.

I'm sure we can make room for you in Sith Happened but we aren't casual in the least.

Is that the Guild from the merger debacle?

I suppose there's a way to start a guild with people that's truly casual if we want but I don't even know how to get that going.

I wonder if it's less about being "active" and my roster just isn't strong enough. That's my hunch.

I'm sorry that happened. I had joined a guild in XBox Injustice 2 and got booted for the same reason. I played every day and was contributing, but just wasn't on as much and winning as high as others and got booted. Really sucks and feels horrible, so I'm with you.

You could easily start a casual guild, the problem is that this game very much rewards very active guilds. A casual guild won't get strong enough rewards to really matter. I think it would be more frustrating than rewarding, which is why once I got out just counted it a blessing and haven't gone back.

Don't get me wrong--I LOVED this game. It's really great in so many ways, but once I left, I felt it was time to stay out. And it did open up a couple hours each day to do other things, even play other games that weren't as demanding.

But dang it's hard to give up on something you've put so much time and strategy into. :(

It was fun but the carrot kept moving and it was just a race to keep up with the <s>Skywalkers</s> Joneses. Couple that with the guild size of 50 (which is just insane) with varying degrees of interest/commitment, it became a nightmare.

I loved solving the number problems and being crazy efficient with the guild we had. But it began to get exhausting dealing some of the, um, more vocal members.

The merger debacle was a last-ditch effort to satisfy everyone and spread the power around. When it became clear that 50% of the people only cared about themselves and were not interested in shuffling power from the top to the bottom to benefit all 200 people in the long-term, we fell back to a single guild.

By then I was spent.

I don't regret the time with the game or you fine people, but I've never missed the grind!

I was told I'm not active enough. Was surprised because there were new rules about expectations and how to get kicked and I wasn't breaking those rules and wasn't warned personally, as far as I know. They didn't say it's any other reason, but behind it, too, could be that I'm not one of the top players (that new Sith raid is nuts and if you don't have the right squad rosters it's easy to end up Rank #45 if you're lucky), could also be I don't always have the best roster for each situation, though I'm really trying hard to remain F2P and just when you start chasing one set of characters it turns out you should've been chasing another set of characters.

I don't know. I understand that officers want to change the direction of the guild. I wish they'd handled it differently. I honestly can't remember the last time I was cut from a team and it has a similar feeling to being dumped. I've joined another guild in the meantime and they seem nice and have an expectation level I think I can commit to and while I have an open mind, the pain is real and it truly won't be the same since its not with you all. I may check out the other Star Wars game that Supermallet mentioned, see how that goes.

It's just a game, but it sucks.

That's a bummer.

I noticed when you and a couple others were removed and wondered what had happened. I'm not a very strong player, but I am active though I don't always hit my 600 energy. I mentioned that in the LINE chat once and was told that it was OK to just do my best. I often used to expend crystals to make sure I hit the 600, but now I just get as close as I can.

The struggle to figure out which characters to chase is real. I ignored the Hoth snow guys for forever until they became critical in Territory Battles. Then Territory Wars started, and I decided I wasn't carrying my weight until I maxed out my CLS, R2, Zarris, Zhan, and 5s, and those are now among my strongest characters. Except then I needed Jedi Training Rey and I had ignored the veterans too long to get them up to speed. And then Nightsisters became the big thing so now I'm working on those. Plus the Heroic Sith Raid and Dark Territory Battles. It's a neverending hamster wheel.

I was always impressed with your dedication to the game and our guild... Once I quit cold turkey, I was uber-glad to have done so. It just became a chore instead of fun.

I wish I could get you into the guild I'm in now, but it's full at the moment. It's called FathersandSons and was literally started by a dad and his kid. It's super casual and you'd probably be one of the stronger members. We only just started finishing HAAT about a month ago and just had our first member unlock general kenobi. 😂😂

They don't ever seem to care how much damage you do or how strong you are, just that you show up and contribute to whatever active event in any way that you can. I understand that philosophy isn't for everyone, but I personally don't like my games to feel like work. It kills time when I'm bored. Nothing more.

The Casual Elite guild was great as far as the DVDTalkers were concerned, but from the start I always felt it was more about the elite and less about the casual. My interest in the game actually improved after I left. I feel like if I stayed, I probably would've just deleted the game altogether like others have.

Just saw this now. The way they put the departure was that they communicated to you guys first, and then facilitated a transfer to guilds that suited your playing need. I guess that wasn’t the case.
Sorry Spatula!

It seems like every Raid, there’s a shake up in terms of membership. This is no different plus it sucks a big one.

I'm afraid that wasn't the case. I logged into my game to find I'd been kicked. At first I thought, oh, maybe because I told them I'm out of town for the weekend and they're doing that thing where they bring in ringers and were making temporary room. But no. When I went to Line, I'd been removed from all chats and had a message from Mino that this has happened. At that point he offered to connect me to a guild, if I like. But no, there was no prior communication, I was cut and found out after the fact.

And to me, that's the frustrating part. We had standards of commitment, I was meeting those. I don't have the strongest roster, but I was communicating with officers and taking advice. Plus, I was told it was because I'm not active enough, not that I'm not powerful enough. The way this went down is just a bummer. Even a week later, it still feels like it just plain stinks.

Yeah, they will be changing the guild name to get rid of the "casual" part of it, thought no money will be required. I have been lucky where in I was farming characters that became critical for raid. I don't spend a ton of money, I always did the daily crystal pack when that existed. It sucks that they didn't contact you, or give you new expectations, it sounded like they did in chat. They probably had these new people wanting to join, and just cut lower people to make room. It stinks it happened, but I think they felt it was that or total loss of guild.

I’m not sure if Obey will chime in here or not but I think it was a matter of weeding out the “weaker” players in order to clear the Heroic Sith Raid. Otherwise, our guild’s strongest players will have gone and joined other guilds. This is the same thing that happened for Tank and is the same thing that’s happening now. I believe that if you would had unlocked JTR, they would had let you be. I believe that there’s a minimum number of JTR needed per guild in order to clear P1 so that was probably part of the decision. Was Cloud Strife part of DVD Talk too?

BTW, who’s left in the Guild from DVD Talk? Myself (Lopo555), Obey, Davidh777 (Seatlecub), DarthCruz.

We just had two people quit the guild this morning, so there's currently 2 spots available. I'm not an officer so I have no way to invite you, but if you want to apply I don't see why they wouldn't accept you. The guild name is "Father and Sons"

Edit: I put in a good word for you just in case

I'm Harmacist.

Yeah they definitely cut some "weaker" members without the ideal toons for the raid. They didn't want a guild merging like last time. As much as it stinks how it went down, there is 0 chance we would've beaten the raid without the new members like we just did. It seems like the new members were all in a guild together so, this kind of was a mini merge. I'm just hoping the dropped members find a nice landing spot.

I saw that you joined. Awesome!!

The conference shouldn't be an issue at all. Just mention you'll be away in the in-game chat. Or I'll post something for you if you can't get online.

FYI, they dont mind if people post in the chat, in fact they welcome it. Occasionally the officers will make an announcement so it lets them know that members are actually paying attention and involved. I remember posting in that chat was frowned upon in the casual elite... It's pretty much the opposite in this guild.

I'll let them know your situation.

Yes, they do have a group set up on Discord, but people rarely post in it. One of officers may send you a link to it once you're settled in. The in-game chat is much more active. They mainly use discord for the important stuff so it doesn't get lost.

Yup I got Booted. I was on Vacation and Had 3 days with no logging on. I also signed up for 2 Territory Wars but did not attack because I was busy on vacation. (I'm pretty sure we still won those - my contribution to TW is always minimal.) I logged on to find out I was booted. No warning. No chance to ask if I could wait until after the Heroic Sith Raid. I was and still am on the Discord server. I was asked if I needed help finding a new guild (which I said yes to)

Not a big deal though - Went on the SWGOH forums the next day and put my profile and desires out to guilds who were high GP and that were doing the HSTR. Turns out my roster was more desirable than I thought. I had offers from 4 guilds within minutes and picked one that I seemed to fit in with the best from the conversation with the guild leader/recruiter. They were also going through a small purge and had some heavy hitters leaving (mostly voluntarily from their discord messages. Even with their losses they were still hitting their raid tickets and I just saw they picked up some more heavy hitters and got their GP over 150 million.

There's plenty of room. Pretty sure we are only at 39 members. We could definitely use the help if anyone here is still interested in the game and looking for a guild. I'm not an officer so I can't send out invites, but I don't see them turning anybody away at this point. Especially anyone with a halfway decent roster.

I’m still on the Discord server and read your messages daily even though I haven’t logged in to the game with a few exceptions. I sometimes miss the building the toon and farming shards but in terms of gear and mods not at all. That gear 12 looks painful. Also I don’t miss the timing of TW, TB and the Arenas grind. Just when I have the urge to ask Mino to come back, I read your server and the urge goes away.

I never dealt with him as an officer but as a guild member, I thought he was fair personally.

David, on the other hand, even though he’s full of knowledge, comes across more as to what he wants to do and what’s good for him. Personally, I never had an issue with him either but there was one time, we had a Raid start time that we agreed upon but because he wouldn’t be able to hit it, he started earlier than the slotted time, which pissed off a lot of the members. Ahovv quit after that.
