Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Pretty happy that I finally have a team that can auto-win the tier 3 Savage Opress challenge every time. That battle was getting very annoying.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Sorry, still not understanding the GW retreat tactic. Please explain to me like I'm a 5 year old. :)
I'm halfway thru my GW and about to face a big roadblock... a +3 level Dooku who will most likely rip me to shreds. I have some suicide squaddies to throw up against him too (well, levels 1-15 if I can use those). Thanks |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
As long as the opponent has taken a turn, you can click the gear icon and retreat.
This resets the battle. Opponents are alive, full health, and completely cooled down. Your heroes revert to their state pre-battle (alive, hurt/healthy, same cooldown status). It's like the battle never happened. You cannot retreat and have the enemies damaged. So a suicide squad needs to be that: suicide. They must finish the battle, win or lose, to have an effect on the enemy. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Thanks Pinata.
So by using retreat, it gives you another shot at that particular battle? If it is going poorly and you lost some guys, then hit retreat and you get another shot. And the suicide squad can burn those enemy specials as long as you finish the battle? So, in my current battle, I can tag in some lowbies, hope Dooku uses his lightning, lose the battle, and bring in my big guns? |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Precisely.
There is a quirk with the seeding of the RNG where if you retreat, bring in the same team, and do the same first action/target, the thing will play out the same. You have to change it up to get different results. |

I'm finding that AoE is essential in Dark Side battles if you hope to keep everyone alive to 3* it. Otherwise you'll get AoE'ed to death with grenades and Jawas.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
You need to kill the droids first. Makes it a lot easier.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
That one and the Veers/Tarkin battle necessitate killing droids first.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Especially if you can time it so that the heal bonus you get from killing them is useful, but that's a dangerous game with Savage's slam-to-zero attack followed by the droids picking you off.

Daka and Asajj definitely help on auto-play with their basic attacks throwing a stun on him.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
MASSIVE update: QGJ is now available in Catina shipments and is no longer chromium only! He is one of the most powerful players in the game. I may start farming him now before everyone else does on my server. I can still farm Daka through two nodes.
More chromium only characters are moving to cantina. Hopefully Leia soon as I almost have her unlocked. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
They must be readying some new chromium-only characters that will make those guys obsolete.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
This is good news, obviously, but I just wish I didn't have to choose between him and Poe! Guess I need to hurry up and unlock those Poe farming nodes...

Doing this allows you to increase your farming rate for characters and continue building xp and hitting achievements for Vader. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Wow. Dreams do come true. Look what I just pulled from a Bronze pack this morning:
http://i65.tinypic.com/11h4i2e.jpg Not just a shard. Full unlocked 4* character. This will make DS battles and GW all the more easier. Best pull ever, by far. What more, I've been farming her too so I'm well on my way to promoting her. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
BTW - I have a theory about Bronze packs that just may be confirmation bias, but I have been waiting until I had at least enough ally/free points to open two packs back to back. Every time the better pull has been in the second pack. I don't know if odds improve that way or what, but its worth a shot, no? I also seem to get better stuff the higher level I climb.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Definitely worth a shot. No rush for me to keep opening them instantly for some low-level gear or 700 credits.

Bought a $4.99 crystal pack today. As promised, the daily booster pack for $10.99 showed up shortly thereafter. Now to decide if it is really worth it and if I want to drop a total of $15.98 on this game....

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
If nothing else, those bonus 100/day will allow you to refresh 1-2 more times per day which leads to more XP, more shards, more gear, and more credits.
It will just ease some of the grind to put you on a quicker path to compete in all modes. |

Sure. You should aim to receive around 200 free crystals per day from battles; catina; dailies; and arena awards. You can then use 100 crystals to refresh the catina energy and 50 crystals twice to refresh regular energy. Just click on the respective icons and it will allow you to do so.
Doing this allows you to increase your farming rate for characters and continue building xp and hitting achievements for Vader. Couldn't resist, went for the 8-pack. Got Teebo, Coruscant Underworld Police, and Count Dooku, plus several shards for characters I don't have yet (Princess Leia, Nightsister Acolyte, Plo Koon, and Poe Dameron) and enough shards to bump my IG-86 up to 2-stars. Didn't set the world on fire, but not bad. I've been farming Count Dooku a little so I'm already moving right along on his second star and I've been farming Poe so this gets me a lot closer, too. I did have 50 crystals leftover and I used that to refresh and then simmed to get some gear and bump Dooku up to Gear IV so I did take the advice. Kind of. Thank you for helping me out, I do appreciate it. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Not bad!?!
Count Dooku is literally the best character in the game. I'd say you hit the jackpot. Every time I fight a squad with him in it, I get annhialated, especially when he's leveled up. He has 100% counter chance so he's constantly attacking. I battled a squad with him in GW (granted the entire squad was 7 levels above my highest character which is bullshit), but he literally wiped out all 18 of my characters. I threw everything I had at that squad and he killed everybody. It seemed like he attacked 2-3 times every time 1 of my characters took at turn. If I were you, I would level that guy up. He is badass! |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Dooku is highly manageable if you save him for last. Yes he has 100% counter chance and gets bonus attacks, but it's really those coupled with the other characters' regular attacks that do you in.
On the plus side, he is very squishy. If you can stun him either directly or by proxy with Daka's side-stun, you take him out immediately! Anyone have thoughts on the 45 5* training droids for 380 crystals? That seems like a good use as they say it's enough XP to take a character from 1 to 58. I just can't decide if it's worth the crystals I have lying around. I feel like I'm earning ~200/day (not including the daily 100) to sustain my habit, not to mention the 3,000+ surplus I have from my recent purchase. |

I wonder what the math would be on that versus spending the crystals on energy and doing the XP keycard battle?
3* ( 750xp) x 6 = 4500xp 4* (1500xp) x 4 = 6000xp 5* (3000xp) x 3 = 9000xp Total possible = 19,500xp Tier 2 - ?? energy - Possible Rewards: I can't see. Unlocks at level 65 and I'm only 64.6. Can someone else check? Training Droid Pack - 380 crystals = 7.6 refreshes (912 energy equivalent): 5* (3000xp) x 45 = 135,000xp So... 135,000xp/19,500xp (Tier 1 max) = 6.9 Tier 1 completions / refreshes 135,000xp/??,???xp (Tier 2 max) = ?? Tier 2 completions / refreshes Assuming you don't always get the max rewards from the keycard battle, it appears to be about a wash at Tier 1. I can extrapolate that Tier 2 will blow away that equality even without seeing the actual rewards, but I will tomorrow unless someone else reports back. Of course, if Tier 2 costs more than 50 energy it will diminish its ratio. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
When does Poe get good? I only have him at 3* but he's level 50 and each of his skills are fairly high level with level 4 gear, yet all he does is taunt, then usually dies after two rounds. He just takes way too much damage and doesn't have the HP (or a heal like Chewie) to handle it.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
He does heal when he avoids status effects. He reduces the enemy turn meters. He can last with a healer. But he also doesn't have to survive because is role is to give your team a chance to set the tone with a quick KO then he slips quietly into that good night.
