Well shit, you can say that again.
I started the download at 6:30 this morning, and it's only half done, with 12 hours left to go! I mean, PSN's always been slow as shit, but this seems excessive. I've downloaded bigger games in far less time. I wonder what's up (downloads on my PC are fine, so it's not my ISP).

Well I only played for about an hour last night and it starts off strong. The opening gameplay as a child and learning is very nicely done and it seems to wet the appetite for a solid storyline to follow. I do like the world that is being created here. It is not totally new, but it spins it enough to make it feel fresh. I started on the first couple of missions as an adult and was happy enough playing. I was a little surprised as how easy some of the early are to take down, but I guess that's probably a false sense of security at this stage and it will get harder the further in I get. The graphics are superb and the world seems nicely constructed. One thing that does feel a little off to me is the way she fires the bow. It's just feels a little off. Maybe it's just me at his point, and it might grow on me. But a solid game overall so far.

A tip regarding unlimited fast travel. The spoiler just contains where to find it, it's not a true spoiler:
Also the one skill I'm about to unlock that I think will really pay of is tinkerer. Being able to freely swap the mods will make taking down certain machines much easier.

Man, the statue is absolutely stunning and has really good detail. The removable arrows are also a nice touch. The steelbook is solid and has inside art as well. The art book is cool, but I wish it was a bit bigger. Pretty cool dynamic theme and a ton of in game items, so hopefully they are useful.

Oh well, I'd rather hook up a gamer with a fair deal rather than price gouge them.

Nope, not unless you pre-ordered. I swapped a bunch of PS3 games for $10 so there's that. But I hadn't paid full price for a game since Uncharted 3, so it's not like buying games are ruining me.
Played about 4 hours this afternoon and I love it.

How do you get rid of the Chapter title and objectives underneath? They remain on screen all the time and there's too much stuff going on on-screen already.
Edited: Nevermind, found it along with other tips here:

This game is SO in my wheelhouse. Very pretty, very cool. It even has a training montage!
When do you get the Collectors Edition digital stuff? I redeemed the code but haven't seen the stuff yet I don't want to upgrade my bow if a better one is right around the corner.

The first vendor you meet. There are packages that you pick up from him. I got everything last night and started using one of the new bows right away.
I'm probably missing something very simple, but I can't seem to find a way to switch weapons on the fly. I have the bow and tripcaster equipped, and I thought you use the d pad to switch, but I guess that's not the case. Do you have to open the weapon wheel each time to swap weapons?

They really need to patch in the ability to pick up Traps. There's been too many times where I'll accidentally put down a trap or pick a bad spot to place one

Only 2 hours in, and while I'm enjoying it, it hasn't quite "clicked" yet with me.
I mean, the controls, fighting, and especially graphics are spot-fucking-ON, but so far it seems like any other open-world game; go to point A, get thing, go to point B, fight, go to point C, end mission, upgrade. Rinse, repeat.
Obviously I'm sticking with it, but right now, the game is keeping it's distance from me.
