I ran through stacks of them. I would keep at least two stacks on hand.

I love the stashes that they use in HFW. Such a great "quality of life" update.

Should I be level 30 to take on Frozen Wilds?

Go up there and try it. You can always fast travel back to the main quest if you're under leveled. You won't be locked into anything and you can leave at any time.

True. Good advice!
even though I was accumulating many fast travel packs, I’m glad I splurged on the golden travel pack. Now go anywhere as many times and no worrying about packs.

Have fun in the northern lands (i.e. Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons). It’s a very beautiful part of the game.

There’s already so much beauty in some of the settings already.

Heading into the last cauldron now. XI. Then I’ll head to the Frozen Wilds. I love this game. So much to do and the side quests are actually meaningful and engaging. Not all this find that switch or fetch type stuff. Actual good character interactions and quests that mean something to certain people. Just great. Hope Forbidden West is this good.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn - PS4

Of all the Side Quests in HZD, Acquired Taste is the creepiest. Brin is a weirdo. No doubt about that.

Waterlogged was my favorite Side Quest.

And yes, HFW is every bit as good as HZD if not better.

It's a good idea to do a lot of the side quests. They affect the ending a little bit.

I’m doing as many as I can. I’m forsaking the main quests right now for sides and errands. Always look for the green !. I still have 10 chapters to go.

I agree. I didn't care for that one. That was my last sidequests before I finished the final missions. I needed to do it to 100% the game.

There’s a screen on the menu that tells you. You have to get all the collectibles, weapons, and complete every mission, hunting ground, cauldron, and bandit camp.

I have to go back and complete the Hunting Grounds to get the 100%. Some of them made me mad, so I rage quit them.

I did some of them at least thirty times. I hate the stealth hunting grounds.

wow. That’s dedication. Sounds out of my league. I only got one 100% and I’m sure it’ll stay that way.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn - PS4

I know how to mount an overridden machine, but how do you call them out of nowhere to give you a ride? All this time I’ve been fast traveling and hoofing it…

It's a skill that you have to unlock on the Forager tree.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn - PS4

You know, I just realized that. I’ve been staying away from that third. Mostly building other 2/3rds, but I figured it was probably in skill set. I’ll have to get that tree going asap. Looks really handy. Especially calling ravagers. Thems suckers is fast as shit.

it seems handy. i haven't put anything to that tree yet. maybe one thing. it hasn't been bad hoofin it, especially with the generous fast travel fires. i do wish Aloy could climb mountains and stuff, like in AC: Odyssey or whatever games let you climb willy nilly. sometimes it is so hard to find the damn ridges or way to get up or down something. only gripe. and i just learned about this invincibility armor. i want that!

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn - PS4

Wow! What an epic game. Just epic. I ended up doing all but 2 sides, 1 is The Frozen Wilds, which I am going to do next and put an end to this journey. Level 40. If I didn't get the invulnerability outfit, I never would have finished that last battle against the deathbringers and all the other beasties that were thrown out. Those canons at the end saved me as well. But, all in all what a great adventure game. I loved every minute of it.

I did The Frozen Wilds when I hit Level 40 and loved having the weapons and other stuff (as Level 60) when I finished the game.

Love love, loved it!

Hard to believe that this game and TLoZ:BotW are contemporary. HZD was released the week before the Switch (in 2017).

Anyways, congrats on the accomplishment and enjoy hanging with the Banuk up north.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn - PS4

^ frankly, if I had one complaint is that even though you could buy and use many weapons, all I needed was some bows, sharpshooter bow with the different ammos, mostly precision arrow. I’m not sure if it’s me or the game, but the others felt useless to me.

I probably meeleed more machines and enemies than using my bow and arrow. Especially when you get Sylens’ staff at end. That and outfit, can’t really be touched and therefore where’s the challenge now?

I did sell most of my resources, hearts and lenses as I didn’t need them anymore and they weren’t useful. The game did make it a little difficult in knowing what to sell and what you need. Minor gripe.

As for The Frozen Wilds, I think with the invincibility outfit, I don’t think I’ll have a problem with anything this game throws at me now.
