I'm not familiar with Metrovania type games, but I think the protagonist moves too slow.

re: Bloodstained: RotN (Steam, PS4, XB1, Switch: 2019)

Here we are in the first half of 2018. Any sign of the game yet?
Nope. But they're sending a survey.

A survey to see where the game should ship to, right?
Nope. Just want your feedback.

The Bloodstained Feedback Survey Is Now Live!
Posted by Koji Igarashi (Creator)
To every member of the Army of the Night who has not been buried under several unseasonable feet of snow in the last week or two: happy spring!

We're passing along a quick between-updates note from 505 about a new way to leave your mark on Bloodstained—the feedback survey. Here's Roberto with more information:

Hello everyone, the Bloodstained Feedback Survey is up and running! We really want to do everything we can to give our fans a voice and listen to you as much as possible, so don’t miss your chance to tell us what you think and shape our future decisions on everything from release dates, how we’re doing with the community and how we can improve, to DLC, what (if anything) we should do about the exclusive in-game content, pricing for the game and more! And just in case you’re thinking “man what a lame Kickstarter update this month”, fret not, this is a separate effort from our usual updates, and the main April Kickstarter update is still on its way. Thank you to everyone for your time and passion, can’t wait to read your answers.

No interest anymore. Just get Konami to make another game.

And they thought crowdfunding products was the "way of the future." Well, this certainly backfired.

On a kind of related note, did that Mighty no. 9 game ever get released? Wasn't it announced around the same time as this?

Mighty No 9 came out 2 years ago and was Kickstartered in 2013.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if Mighty No 9 officially came out or not. Was it any good?I thought a couple reviews came out for it, but don't recall hearing anything positive.

It was widely slandered, rightfully so. You can have it for dirt cheap during PSN sales. I still have my non-kickstarted CE unopened somewhere.

Here's one of many articles about it's failure (I used this one because it points out near the end how Bloodstained came about because they wanted to copy Inafune's success with Mighty No. 9):

Mighty No 9 was already a PS+ game. That should tell you something

Konami dropped Castlevania, and I'm glad they did; Because we got an excellent Netflix series out of it, and here's their answer to our pleas for a new game...

If you backed Bloodstained we are getting a new demo in June. I feel like I dropped the ball on this thread, there have been a lot of updates recently. So here's one for now with the English voice cast.

VLR9r8Lunag

I'm glad they delayed the game, I'm sure Iga and his team saw what happened with Mighty and said NOPE!

I wouldn’t call the Netflix series excellent by any means. And a iOS game sucks, but at least it’s something Castlevania. At any rate, we still need a new platform game of this series.

re: Bloodstained: RotN (Steam, PS4, XB1, Switch: 2019)

The Netflix mini-series is off to a promising start, but there isn't enough of it to judge it yet. Season 1 was like a prologue.

I would like another proper 2d Castlevania, but seeing how Konami is these days doesn't give me a lot of hope of it being any good.

re: Bloodstained: RotN (Steam, PS4, XB1, Switch: 2019)

I'm not sure what the right answer here is. If I buy it, Konami thinks iOS multiplayer games are what I want, which I don't. Say it ekes out a minor profit—do we just get low-effort entries forever?

If I don't buy it, does Konami conclude that Castlevania is so unprofitable as to be nearly worthless? Maybe then another studio that's interested in producing video games instead of casino games can acquire it.

Or maybe Konami just buries it for 100 years until it rises again...

The right answer is not to buy. It's a crap game, doesn't matter whether it's a crap game that happens to be CV. As you point out, there is no way for them to discern that you are supporting Castlevania rather than supporting this specific product.

Konami made it very clear in the last year or two that they have no significant interest in mainline video games. Nothing you or I can do will lead them to produce another proper Castlevania. Or actually complete MGS V. Or, or..

re: Bloodstained: RotN (Steam, PS4, XB1, Switch: 2019)

Back on topic, does anyone know if there will be a physical Nintendo Switch version, or will it only be digital?
I was originally supposed to get the Wii U physical edition. I just logged into Kickstarter and my backer/pledge status now says:
-$60
-SPECIAL BACKER EDITION
-PHYSICAL COPY

A physical copy of the game for XBOX ONE, PS4, or STEAM (PC/Mac/Linux). Includes exclusive backer-only content and a special Kickstarter-exclusive slipcase!

Thanks for any info!

If you backed the game for the Switch, and pledged for a physical copy, you will receive a physical copy. I believe the higher tiers include digital as well.

If you go to the fangamer page you should be able to see the survey you filled out, and I see when I try to change the survey that you can choose switch now. I'm not sure if you can still change it, though I kind of want it for the switch instead of the PS4.

I've seen this question on Twitter a lot, and according to the team you CAN change your version at any time.

Hmmm.... I would like to play the game on the Switch, but I bet the exclusive slipcover looks a lot better on a PS4 case than a Switch case. I'll probably keep the PS4 version intact.

Thanks for the replys! This part has lost me though. As I remember, I just signed up for backing the game on Kickstarter. Not sure where the Fangamer part comes in, as I have never been to their site/created an account with them. Just to be certain, I clicked "recover my password," and confirmed my e-mail address is unknown to them.

Search your email for "fangamer" you should have received an email around 9/15/15 that says something like:
ACTION REQUIRED: Survey For Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

which has a (I think) tailored URL for you to fill out the survey to say what version you want, etc.

I had the same problem, so I emailed them via my receipt email Kickstarter. In that Kickstarter email there is a link that takes you to the backer page. Click on "change survey answers" and you can make any changes there.

May 14th will be the last possible day to back this game, and May 18th is the last day to change your console/version of the game.
