Comes out March 31st. I didn't see a new thread talking about it. Only a few mentions in last season's thread.

Anyways, I did buy The Show 14 last year and I wasn't blown away by it. I'd probably give it a 7 out of 10.

I already pre-ordered The Show 15 from Gamestop. Only problem I have with baseball games is they take a lot of time. There is no feasible way I could play a 162 game season. That would take me many months & many hours per day that I don't have. I usually go for a shorter season or individual games.

But I do get a sports game itch every now and then and I haven't played a truly great baseball game in years. Hopefully the 2015 version will be it.

I noticed in last season's thread that some here were really disappointed with it.

The online sucked ass last year for a two player game. The lag was unbearable and unacceptable.

So, I get 29 dynamic themes that I will never use and can't give away? Call me stoked. Fix the lag and I'm in.

Re: MLB 15: The Show -- PS3/PS4 -- March 31st

It's worth $130 if you were planning on buying every single team's dynamic theme anyways!

I posted in the thread for last season, but...I already pre-ordered the anniversary edition. It's about time we got some Dodgers love! I am hoping that we can get a league going with some of us here.

About the net code / online, was it really terrible? I skipped the first PS4 installment, due to the usual first new generation troubles that affect sports franchises. I last played The Show '13.

Timing is very important to baseball. Lag ruins everything . Online baseball has never been properly done.

Re: MLB 15: The Show -- PS3/PS4 -- March 31st

I preordered the Anniv Ed too. Mainly for the extra swag even though I only care about one team's theme. Plus, I've never played any of the MLB Show games so I'm excited as they always get rated very high.

I'm usually a sucker for special editions, but I don't see anything in there worth paying anything extra for so regular edition for me.

Re: MLB 15: The Show -- PS3/PS4 -- March 31st

You don't see $10/$8 worth of extra value there? It's not like this is a $100 CE.

BTW : I wonder if this is one code to unlock all 30 team themes. I assume so, but if not it would really suck to have to enter 30+ codes on the PS4.

Actually, I would prefer that as I could sell each of those codes for a buck apiece.

I realize that, it's important to most sports (or most game genres, in general) games. I guess that I didn't think that most of the installments of MLB the Show were so awful, although I can't speak to last year's, because I didn't buy it.

Not really, no.

Steelbook - For a yearly sports game...what's the point?
12k in stubs - I have no idea what that even is.
15 bonus item packs - again, I have no idea what that even is.
Themes - don't use 'em.

only a couple days away from release

I saw some streaming on Live From Playstation but tend to avoid these since the stream quality isn't the best

More importantly, there are some real favorable impressions at Operation Sports

Were we looking to possibly run an online league, after all?

I usually don't bother with online for sports games but might indulge if there is enough interest and online is stable this go around

Re: MLB 15: The Show -- PS3/PS4 -- March 31st

I don't, either, outside of playing with one of my buddies from back home, but, if we can get some people together, I am all for it.

As for the online stability, wow, it must have really taken a dive on PS4, it was not terrible in 2013, from what I recall.

Do you guys use the rosters as they are when beginning (or, at least, whatever official roster update is out at the time), or, do you guys do fantasy draft leagues?

When we did a league a few years ago we just used the team rosters as they were. I prefer that way as I am more attached to the real players on my team rather than a fantasy team. I'm not too big on fantasy teams.

Picking this up later today. Pre-ordered it from Gamestop. Trading in my 2014 version and apparently it's only worth $6.60. Shows how much sports games depreciate in value.

not that I need reviews ... user impressions are good enough

picked mine Anniversary Edition up this afternoon and will fire up tonight

Re: MLB 15: The Show -- PS3/PS4 -- March 31st

I picked up my copy, and played it a little bit already. If you like The Show series, I really don't see what one could find to complain about, or need a review for. It's an MLB The Show game. A few comments, though, from a long-timer to the series, but one who skipped the first "next gen" edition:

---They keep messing with the batting interface. The whole directional/hold the stick thing just seems "meh". I miss the classic timing interface. This one isn't totally crap, but they just keep adding stuff onto the old, tried and true.

---Highlight mode is GONE. This is a minor complaint about presentation, that doesn't affect the gameplay, but I liked that. You don't get the automatic wrap up show you once did.

Those are my early, quick impressions. My only complaint so far (missed my quotation marks) is that you start off as the dirty, awful Giants during the training game, while the game installs!

Thanks for the response. I am fine with that stance, I just wanted to know. I know that the fantasy option exists, but then, you can end up with power teams, assuming that people have varying knowledge of baseball.

Let me know if anyone starts a league up!

early impressions: everything is better than last years edition and last years was great

now can SCE San Diego Studio please get the rights to the NHL

I'm assuming you can still do "classic" timed hitting?

So, I went out and bought a PS4 and this game. I recently got a bonus and was going to spend part of it on something fun. No Kris Bryant? I assume because he is not on the Cubs 40 man roster?

I played in our one and only league a few years back and had fun when it worked. I'd be interested if we are bringing it back.

Re: MLB 15: The Show -- PS3/PS4 -- March 31st

avsfan and I tried to play 2 exhibition games tonight, around 6pm Pacific. We had the game freeze in the top of the 2nd the first time, then, right before Kershaw got the last out in a CG victory for me, it froze after 8 2/3 innings. What a travesty. I hope that this isn't what you guys were talking about when discussing last year's online being a shit storm.

Pretty much. That and the fact that when you pitch and are trying to hit there is a terrible amount of lag that makes batting even more difficult than it already is.

Yes, I believe that is correct. Chris Sale was not on the Sox either, unless I didn't see him, as he is hurt (though pitched yesterday in minors).

I'm enjoying my first experience in the Show series. It literally is like watching a live game. I don't understand the 'card' part of the game though I won't really play that anyway. Will give RTTS a spin and then focus on Franchise mode.

Any tips for a first time player?

I'm using the buttons + stick to influence the ball (forgot what it is called in game). Is there a better option, the analog sticks maybe? Still working on swing timing. And, playing on Beginner. :D

best advice I think I can give is what I already told you .... try and be patient and not swing at everything

also doing the batting practice mode to get comfortable isn't a bad idea

anyway I haven't found hitting to be that difficult
