I really want to play Lost Legacy but man, Uncharted 4 takes forever. I know they said something like 16 hours, but for me it's a LOT longer. Today I sat down for like 2 1/2 hours and just finished chapter 14.

I'm one of those fools who raced through the previous Uncharted games so I'm taking my time with this one knowing that it's shorter by far. I'm doing all the little side stuff which gets more interesting once you obtain a certain item and just enjoying the ride. I was really late to the party on this franchise but for my style of gaming these are the best games of both the last and current console generations, excepting the freak of nature that is Skyrim.

I spent today collecting all of the items and solving puzzles to get a certain item. It's been a blast so far.

Just wrapped The Lost Legacy. It's a significantly better game than A Thief's End imho. I'd be more than happy to pay for more adventures of the new trio.

Finished Lost Legacy today. Absolutely awesome game, and I'm still amazed they were able to get that out a year after Uncharted 4. It was significantly shorter, but after playing Uncharted 4 last year for around 20 hours, it was nice that it didn't overstay it's welcome. I loved the last chapter, it wouldn't be an Uncharted game without a train sequence :)
I'd be up for more adventures with Chloe and Nadine. They had awesome chemistry and had some really funny dialogue. |

I also finished Lost Legacy today. I loved it, it was much better than A Thief's End in my opinion. I would dare say that the only Uncharted better than this one was Among Thieves. This game was paced well, had many puzzles, great voice acting, and the story was quite good. I enjoyed the battle sequences, which is a first in this series for me, especially the stealth stuff and the introduction of silenced weapons. I'm glad I played through this and I highly recommend that Uncharted fans give it a shot.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Well Lost Legacy forced me back to Uncharted 4. It took such a long time but I am thankfully done with it. Can't wait to take those 65 GBs off my HDD.
I really liked the game for the most part but something just didn't click for me. It was very good but somehow less fun than its three predecessors. Like I said it certainly overstayed its welcome -- by a lot. Those 22 chapters felt never-ending. And it wasn't because the combat was so hard or the puzzles were so confusing; it just had so much content that finding Avery's treasure felt like a total afterthought by the end. Still there was plenty to like. It looked great. Voice acting was still superb. It was a little less fun and funny than previous games but I did like the context-specific dialogue that occurred from time to time. I also liked the upgraded character models -- more than any game I've ever seen these avatars looked like real people - especially freaky to me since Elena looks very much like my wife (Mrs Decker is older and nowhere near as adventurous, but she does look a heck of a lot like that). I had some sympathy for Drake when he caught hell from the wife - I've been there. Now finally on to Lost Legacy! |
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
A Thief's End (ATE) is still a stellar game. There's just too much of it. Imagine if a Michael Bay movie was five hours long. That's what ATE is.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
I don't recall having too many complaints about the length of the game, except that it starts kind of slow and not being a fan of Young Drake. The game was exhilarating after a certain chapter.
I haven't had much time so i'm only now playing a bit of Lost Legacy. So far it just feels like Uncharted with Chloe, but the story so far isn't particularly interesting yet. |
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Yeah, unless it drags or it's poorly paced (none of which U4 really suffered from), I don't understand the criticism in a game being too long. That is, unless you're trying to finish it over the weekend, as I know many try. A 12+ hour game, regardless of how great, will drag if played over just a few days instead of a few weeks. Savor that shit!

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Yeah, it's kind of a weird complaint. But sometimes too much of a good thing is just too much. I wanted to get to wherever we were headed and it just seemed like it would be one long quest to go on another long quest. At some point, if you're just doing the same shit over and over again, solving the same puzzles in the same way and killing the same bad guys over and over again it just feels like padding.
I'd rather play the game twice at two difficulties. That is why I'm so looking forward to giving Lost Legacy a go. I really like Chloe's character and look forward to knowing more about Nadine and seeing who she is when she isn't taking orders from Poor Man's Steve Buchemi. |

FWIW, it looks like Yahtzee agrees with me :

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
I rented and finished Uncharted 4 last week and loved it! I had bought the first Uncharted when it first came out, and liked it but never finished. I never played the other two, but after finishing U4 I went straight to eBay and bought the Nathan Drake collection. I can't wait to see what I missed!

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Been so damn busy the last few months, finally finished Lost Legacy this morning. I really enjoyed playing as Chloe, but this might be where I started getting a little tired of the Uncharted formula, maybe because the story wasn't as interesting to me as the main games. The Hindu history didn't feel quite as strong, and the main enemy felt weak and generic although the action bits at the end were a lot of fun.
Spoiler:
Anyway, it was fun since it's more classic Uncharted gameplay, but I didn't think it was a must play or anything. I gusss i'm alone that I liked Thief's End better. That said, I liked Lost Legacy more then Uncharted 1 or 3. |
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Knocked out The Lost Legacy tonight. Yay, actually making progress on my unplayed pile of shame! It was a nice addition to Uncharted 4. Not sure it was worth $40 though (what I spent last Black Friday for it).

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (PS4, 5/10/2016)
Plus, it was only $20 for those of us who preordered it waaaaay in advance, along with lots of in-game premium currency. That was one pre-order that didn’t screw over customers.
