Suggestions for game / accessory organization?
Before I got married, I had a table in a corner of my living room where I put all my controllers, and there was a small rack with my current gen games on it.
I got rid of all my old furniture when I got hitched, and now our living room is pretty much a blank slate. I still have my consoles organized pretty well in my home theater rack, but I'm not sure what to do with my stacks of controllers/accessories for my Wii U, Xbox One, and PS4. I also don't have a place carved out to store my games. (I'll be keeping older consoles / games in another room, so those aren't as immediate a concern.)
I was wondering what suggestions you might have. Thanks!

Get a coffee table that opens up or has drawers. Or one of those gaming ottomans that has a bunch of storage room.

Our entertainment center is a 2x4 Expedit from IKEA. The receiver and center sound bar sit on top and it offers a nice, clean look that matches the birch veneer of the Billy bookcases that house our media. The TV is mounted on the wall above it.
We put doors on the top row of cubes to keep games and the PS3 and Wii out of sight (the bottom row is for cloth bins of kids' toys). Then, I bought some extra Billy shelves and sawed them down to size to make internal shelves in the newly-doored cubes. Routed into the shelves, drilled holes in the cube innards to mount them the shelves using the little metal things that hold them in the Billy like normal. This leaves room for games underneath and consoles (and Wiimotes) on top. When I assembled the doors for the cubes, I didn't install the back piece. This way there was plenty of venting for the consoles even if the door was closed. If that's tough to follow, let me know. I keep meaning to post photos of all of this, anyway.

Show her who's boss and put that shit front and center on the floor in front of the TV where it belongs
Then after the divorce, do what Corvin said and get a nice coffee table with drawers. I have two end tables downstairs with sliding drawers that work really well, but they don't fit everything. We also have an ottoman upstairs that I used to put Wii and Gamecube accessories and games in, until the kids took it over and started putting their toys in there. This family stuff is really getting in the way of my gaming habits
