You stole your wife!

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Oh i am lucky to have her, but i think she realized that if she did not get me one then some day soon she would arrive home and find that i had bought them myself.
Not wanting to derail the thread, but any advice on other PS4 games worth picking up? I was thinking Killzone, would like to see Destiny but poor home internet stops that from happening. |
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Killzone's cheap and pretty, but not much fun. Get Diablo III Ultimate Evil. That's an awesome game, has couch co-op mode to play with the Mrs, looks great and won't require a lightning-fast internet connection to play multiplayer on.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
The Last of Us if you didn't already play it on PS3 (or if you did, pick it up anyways :)). Same with Tomb Raider.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Wolfenstein: The New Order was REALLY good.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Every time I come to this thread I actually expect to read about Shadow of Modor. There are plenty of "what game should I get" threads.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Shadow of Mordor is a very good game that I need to get back to playing. I like it a lot but have been spending my free gaming time on Forza Horizon 2 instead because it's awesome. Also just got Alien Isolation yesterday and need to spend some time playing that as well this weekend. But Shadow of Mordor is fun as well and I do enjoy it for the most part.
There, are you happy Rob? :) |

Much better, thanks guys!

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I platinumed this yesterday. Overall its good. 7\10 Some of the achievements are tough, but the main story isn't tough at all. I like the nmesis system and how you need to manipulate things to make them go your way.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Finally started the game today. Put in 2-3 hours and man, what a blast. I like that the battle system is like Arkham but more forgiving. On the flipside The traversal/climbing should be a little tighter like Tomb Raider. As it stands climbing is just kinda automatic, pretty much impossible to fall.
I'm looking forward to getting back into it. |
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I think I am getting close to 30 hours in this game and I am still not done. It sort of poops out towards the end and I am having a hard time keeping at it. I have had a lot of fun, but it just does not end strong.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
It gets more fun once you can brand orcs and command captains and warchiefs. Found all the collectibles tonight. I also finished the bow quests but haven't quite finished the sword and dagger quests yet.
|
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I took out the first Warchief yesterday and am probably a 1/3 of the way thru. I have no desire to complete all the quests or find the collectibles.
|
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
 I've spent the fix 6 or so hours just going after the collectables and quests. I'm only a few missions into the story.
|
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I finished the story and all missions (and all collectibles) at 29 hours. I still have a number of achievements left, as I didn't look at them beforehand.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
It's the weirdest Open World game I've played -- technically "open world", but in reality the environment is just a single dingy brown valley heavily populated with some of the most nearsighted Orcs imaginable. You have to be standing like directly in front of them for them to notice you unless you're on a mission.
I do find it funny when several are marching in a row and you can kill them all one by one without the one in front noticing -- even if the one you just killed was mid-sentence when you stabbed him. Uninquisitive lot, Sauron's Army. |

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I finished it. A fun game, but I don't really see any replay value.

Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I just started this last night. I am about 4 hours in and really liking it. The combat is fun and the Nemesis system is a cool twist. I had one orc captain that managed to kill me twice and he also got promoted when his underlings killed me twice....so I created myself a level 15 I was pretty upset about, haha. But I do like that the game "punishes" you for getting kille repeatedly.
While off doing side quests and artifact finding I ran into him again. This time he only had about 4 underlings with him instead of 12 or so. I managed to take him down and it sure felt nice after all his smack talk. |
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I'm on the 2nd map. Still amusing but it's gotten a bit boring since I pretty much never die ...any time I get low on health I simply roll overtop of a few orcs, run and cut a plant (shown on the map) and I'm at magic full health again! I don't even have half of the upgrades unlocked.
If the Orcs could see farther than a nearsighted granny (or hear batter - like if they noticed when you stealth-killed the guy chatting behind them) and the roll-over-dodge move wasn't so overpowered the combat would be a lot better. |
Re: Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I think if it was any harder it wouldn't be as fun. It can be pretty frustrating at times as it is.
