Helpful video. I realize it takes some work, but I'm suprised they made it that easy to hit 34. I would think most of us will be all 34's by the weekend. Hell Scott will probably have a 34 before I even get to work Tuesday.

for me, class armor (shards), Epilogue and P&T which either have or will be sharded, and shards and energy which cannot be sharded ... oh and don't forget that shader

3 Nightfalls that followed yielded 3 legendary (so they tell me) fusion rifles .... who would have thought ....

Thanks a bunch guys, I had a great time. The raid is definitely the high point of vanilla Destiny.

The VoC is great since I usually use scout rifles anyway. I'll have to upgrade that puppy ASAP. The max damage is 300..will that change to a possible 365 in HoW as long as I get an etheric shard?

Also, I can only equip one piece of Exotic armor at a time so its worth upgrading the legendary armor I have right now? Or do I wait for better legendary armor before upgrading? I have the vanguard vendor stuff right now.

Is it still the case that you need raid armor to get to level 30 because the vendor stuff can only get you to 28/29ish? If so, more armor should drop in that raid! Going through with you guys helped a ton but if I spent hours and hours chugging my way through just for some shards I would be angry!

Since HOW is less than a week away you might want to save up your Vanguard marks and buy a armor piece then since it will have a higher base level. You'll also want to run the weekly strikes this week to gather enough strange coins to grab an exotic piece of armor.

Thanks! I am going to get my Vanguard rank to "just about there" and then level it up when HoW hits along with farming marks. I also have enough strange coins for one exotic armor purchase..its probably worth waiting until the first HoW visit from Xur.

The drops are so random it is silly. I had a fairly easy time accumulating armor for my titan and a ridiculously easy time with my warlock ( had all the armor in 2 runs) I've tried to run my hunter a ton and have had only 2 armor drops. I also have never had the Vision of Confluence drop for me.

Yeah, i had a much easier time getting Crota Armor. For VOG I have two pieces for my Warlock and Titan and jack shit for my Hunter.

VOG weapons, however, drop like crazy for me. Two VOC's, 3 FB's, 2 VM's, 3 PR, etc.

First off, sorry I missed the Raid. Tuesdays are a little tough for me as I usually stay up later than usual for reset. I'm glad the Daggers showed up in full force and got it done for ya.

You exist is an interesting middle ground with your gear. I believe that was your first raid, correct? That means you probably don't have all that many shards/energy. All this old gear you have requires shards (with Crota gear needing the Radiant ones).

I'll stand by my previous suggestion to you of waiting for new gear, which won't use shards. Now if you have enough shards to upgrade your current gear. I would say you should probably max out the two purple pieces you have if you have enough shards. Then next week if you have enough marks buy a new helmet and chest. That would be enough to get you to 31 I believe. With Nightfalls and Weeklies moving to 32 max next week (that's the assumption anyway), getting to 31 would help with that.

Also, even though it's more of a grind, it helps to have 3 characters. You just get so many more opportunities for gear, weapons, and materials when you're running 3 deep. That's how most of us have more shards/energy than we can ever hope to use, and musick and myself have enough coins to build a Scrooge McDuck type Money Bin.

Hunters do seem to have a rough go in VOG gear. This week however I got all 4 pieces during one run. I've never had that happen for any character before. It was only the second time the boots had dropped for me.

I really want to finish this Thorn bounty, but its hard knowing that if I wait a few days ill get the reep the rewards of the update.(increased rep/marks) They really need to hurry up and drop it.

6 people is a lot, the Daggers definitely showed up to help me out. It was my first raid and I was really hoping for some armor.

I've got 25 shards and 25 energy. The energy I will probably pour into VoC. Looking at the upgrade paths for my purple armor it looks like I can upgrade one all the way and the other a bit at least.

Hopefully that gets me close. I'll use the rest of this week to boost my vanguard and see what HoW brings.

It's tough playing catch up!

I guess running 3 is the thing to do but man is it a time sink. I barely have enough time to run one character through, haha. I'll keep it in mind though.

If you want to be efficient, then run two or all three of the same class and swap/share gear. I still run two warlocks and a titan. I think Gold used to run the same though now has all 3 classes. Plus, if you haven't heard, there is an App to swap gear without going to the Tower.

Yep use to run 2 warlocks and that as it for a while, then I started a hunter. Few weeks later deleted 2nd warlock and started a Titan. There is an extention for chrome and firefox called Tower Ghost. Allows you to transfer directly from character to character, with out going to the vault 1st

Happy to help and run a little relic for old time's sake. Seemed like a really smooth run to me. Templar, Gatekeepers and Atheon all went down on the first attempt.

I always liked VoG and was pretty bummed when CE gutted it, so it was nice to have an excuse to run it. Granted, most of us were over-leveled. It would be really nice if they added new difficulty levels to old raids.

So you want hard mode VoG to be harder. Really?! Splash damage from Atheon getting into the bubble isn't sweaty enough for you. 😉
Running with the C Team into the wee hours of the morning not controller throwingly difficult enough for you. 😁

I wouldn't mind if they added a harder mode for both raids and/or added a weekly modifier for them.

Weekly update is out, not much in there except patch is expected to be pushed some time tomorrow morning, and they are implementing connection recovery, if you get disconnected, it will try and reconnect you instead of just pushing you to orbit. As of right now, its only going to be used in ToO though
