you're not gonna like this:
so when my nephew got the game on release date, we played it (on his XBOX-ONE)for maybe 10 minutes on that weekend and then decided to not play it until they fix their shit... Anyway so for just signing in back then, I got 30 free days of live and free ODST.

I finally got around to watching Halo Nightfall, and man was that garbage. Forward Unto Dawn was better in every way.
Also, are the hopes of getting an updated version of Halo Reach pretty much dead now? I'm glad we got ODST, but would love an excuse to play through Reach again.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Will be Getting an Xbox One X Patch with Fixes and Improvements
full article https://www.xboxachievements.com/new...rovements.html
One of the biggest announcements during the stream is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be getting enhancements for Xbox One X along with some well-awaited fixes, improvements and upgrades. 343 Industries plan to roll out a public 'flighting' program to allow for iterative patches and updates whilst testing the game in the wild.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection received a lot of criticism with players calling the game 'broken' and unplayable. Many fans believed that the studio was finished with the game and was purely focusing on Halo 5 so it was a huge surprise to see 343 Industries announced that they'll be releasing a Xbox One X patch for it with fixes and improvements.

VISUAL ENHANCEMENTS FOR XBOX ONE X
If you own an Xbox One X and a compatible TV you’re in for a real treat – MCC has received visual enhancements to deliver the entire Master Chief saga up to 4K UHD and HDR. And of course, each of the titles in MCC already run at 60FPS delivering what truly is the definitive way to experience the classic Halo collection.
A new HDR and SDR video settings option has been added to the game to provide fine-tuning and calibration options to ensure MCC looks as good as possible across a variety of different hardware setups and personal preferences.

IMPROVED MATCHMAKING
The Xbox platform and online services have evolved and grown in many ways since MCC was first released in 2014. With this patch, the foundation of MCC is getting modernized and updated to take advantage of the latest and greatest Xbox matchmaking and networking features and functionality. The result for players is an online experience that’s significantly more stable across both Multiplayer and Campaign co-op offerings.
MCC also now utilizes dedicated servers housed in Microsoft global datacenters for all Matchmaking game sessions to provide further stability, reliability, and consistency. Within the game you’ll now see what your average ping time is to each of the data centers. You can view your approximate pings in the main menu under “Options & Career / Settings / Network.”

FASTER LOAD TIMES
Over the course of working on this update, the team has been able to achieve significant optimizations across the entire title which results in greatly reduced loading times for all of the content in MCC. Regardless of which flavor of Xbox One you’re playing on, everyone will experience quicker load times on every aspect of MCC - but it’ll be extra noticeable with Halo 2 Anniversary in particular.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Adding Halo: Reach, Including Firefight Mode
Halo: Reach's multiplayer content, as well as Forge and Theatre, will be added to Halo: MCC on Xbox One at no extra cost. However, the game's campaign and fan-favourite Firefight multiplayer mode are coming together in a paid package. If you're an Xbox Game Pass member, however, you'll get "the entirety of Halo: Reach" without paying extra.

Not thrilled that it's paid content since I already own the game in physical and digital form, but I'll buy it again to have in one package.

Re: HALO: The Master Chief collection
This collection came out 8 years ago?!
Anyways, after watching the Halo TV series I finally decided to pop this in after buying it on sale about a year ago. Played through the OG Halo campaign. Hadn't done that in almost 20 year. I forgot how repetitive the game was and how unevenly paced it was. Frankly it was a bit boring. You just kind of go from one group of enemies to the next. The gameplay still hold up though, especially the AI and especially for a 20 year old game. I don't like the level design though as there were too many points that I was lost because the environment was too large for the specific area I had to get to though. And exploring is definitely boring and not rewarded at all. I was surprised that were was 116 gb update that I had to do before playing it. that part wasn't fun. There were also still random hangups where the whole game would just pause. I was hoping all that would have been worked out by now. On to Halo 2.
