I haven't touched in last two years...barely got done with first area but it's deep, a lot to do....I am curious how the Nex gen Update will look overall. The game was made for PC awhile back but still looked pretty good. At least it's a Free Upgrade if you have the game...

I never finished the tutorial area. I'm going to go back and play some more once the update is ready and they patch it a few times.

This video is part of the Dev one but showcases the Next Gen improvements more...XBox Series X and PS5. Overall, it's a lot and hats off to Devs on doing this.

Not a bad comparison video between Old and upcoming Nex gen Improvements....

I think I own this or is it on GP? I know I have on Xbox. Is this free upgrade also free if GP?

Why does this and many other multi-console games get higher reviews on PS5 tan XSX? I thought Xbox was the more powerful one…

The Haptic feedback on the controller. I just picked whichever console had it cheaper lol.

Yeah i don't see much of a difference. The only thing that's cool is when you use a bow and arrow in games like Horizon that you can "feel" pulling on the bow.

I've put a few hours and graphics look like a big improvement. I'm playing on blood and broken bones difficulty. Makes you very strategic in combat as you cant regenerate health meditating.

A little disappodisappointed theres no auto loot while on Roach for picking herbs.

Also finally figured out Gwent. Never got into it on my first playthrough.

Couldn't resist and got the complete edition for $12.49 from the Epic yearly sale. I also wanted Cyberpunk but that's still at $40 after coupon, next year should do the trick.

Ok, I had 666,600 coins in a game and now this is post 666 ....

That's probably the best 12.49 you can spend in gaming if you want an open world RPG. Hundreds of hours of content.

I'm excited about it! I won't get to it for a while. I've discovered the best way to buy games is buy a year's worth in the holiday sales. For $93 I got Marvel's Midnight Suns, this, and Kingdom Hearts Collection, each one over 100 hours. That right there is 2023. I do sprinkle it with never-ending games (Speedstorm, Dreamlight Valley) and short games here and there.

A pretty robust modding tool is launching for the PC version of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt.

I wonder how much of what's created by mods will trickle down to the console ports.

Re: The Witcher 3 - May 19, 2015 - PS4, XBO, PC

I got the Complete Edition of this for a massive 10 bucks on the Xbox on their year-end sale.

Been playing it but not very far yet. Combat seems a little clunky at times and the crafting menus/items seems daunting and massive.

Any quick starter tips from those here who are very familiar with this game?

Reminds me a lot of Red Dead Redemption II but just vaster when it comes to items and combat.

Re: The Witcher 3 - May 19, 2015 - PS4, XBO, PC

I could swear there is a setting that can be toggled that adjusts the movement and combat, but it's been so long that I can't recall. I didn't do hardly any crafting, felt like too much of a chore.

Re: The Witcher 3 - May 19, 2015 - PS4, XBO, PC

The crafting and alchemy is so fun but take time to get used to. Don't think I did much alchemy until my 2nd or 3rd playthrough. Decoctions in alchemy are very strong and fun if you decide to go that route. Crafting you can easily pick up while you play though. Once you figure out your play style/build, I'd recommend Googling the different witcher gear to see which one's stats align.

For combat, just starting out you can get by with dodging/rolling and using fast attacks with the occasional parry. Save the heavy strikes for when your enemy is stunned or it's something slower. Dump your stats into fast attack early on and pick just 2-3 signs. I'd recommend quen(shield) and either igni(fire) or aard(push attack). The other signs are good too but those will be easy ones to use along with dodging and fast attacks. Unlocking whirl from fast attacks is pretty OP for later on.

Besides combat, loot whatever you can. Alcohols are used to replenish your potions when you rest so collect those. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff but lmk if you need more tips. Actually considering starting another playthrough since I just bought it for my PS5.

An interesting mod that hopefully will trickle down to the console versions eventually.

In a move I didn't see coming, a new DLC has been announced which will release next year.
