Transistor (PS4/PC) from creator's of Bastion

The player controls Red, a singer who manages to get her hands on a sword, the Transistor, which transports her through the city. A group of mysterious assassins pursues her in an attempt to take the sword, while she tries to uncover the mysteries of the Transistor. In the past year of Red's universe, more than 100 people have gone missing. The traces of the dead now litter the streets, which are heavily guarded by floating white robots.

Red can pause the action and survey the battlefield. This turn-based mechanic is integral to the combat.

A voice from inside the Transistor, portrayed by Bastion narrator Logan Cunningham, guides the player through the game.

The initial release of the game has been confirmed for PS4 and PC via Steam, with Linux and Mac versions to be released at a later date.

The game is out today and it has gotten awesome reviews so far....here are a few:

Gamespot -- 8
IGN -- 9
Gametrailers -- 9
Game Informer -- 9
Destructoid -- 8.5

Reminds me that I still need to play Bastion. I bought it on PC a while ago and only put like 30 minutes into it. Seemed like a cool game. Just like Dust, which I also bought and barely played.

I really liked Bastion. This seems fun, but its a wait for a Steam sale purchase for me.

Yeah, looks good, but I can't swing paying $19.99 at launch for a single-player indie game on PSN. I'll wait for a sale.

Don't watch any quick looks or let's plays if you want to keep your $20.

Looks kind of amazing.

i only got to spend 20 minutes with it yesterday, but it is extremely cool. The sword is the narrator. I think it is the same actor, but he sounds alot different. Cool, innovative combat and art/soundtrack are great

I was about to plunk my money down, but then I thought...this game may very well show up on PS+ at some point. And now I'm waffling.

I doubt it will be free any time very soon but I'm sure it will be discounted
depends on how bad you want to play but I'd at least wait for the discount

Re: Transistor (PS4/PC) from creator's of Bastion

I finished this already, and I am now about half way into my second run on new game plus. The game is so addictive, as you unlock more and more powers and try to figure out that perfect combo. It is on the short side (maybe 6 hours first run) but between the challenge rooms and the fact that you continue to upgrade and unlock new things on new game plus means it has massive replay value...

Easily one the strongest digital only releases on a console in a long time.
