i enjoy the game, but man it takes FOREVER to upgrade stuff now. I am TH8 and it takes a week or more to upgrade every damn thing.

You haven't seen anything yet....

standard pay to win model. the further you get, the longer it takes. they bank on the the fact that people get impatient and will pay to make the upgrades come faster.

Of course. I may just upgrade my last 10 or so wall sections to level 7 and then just upgrade my TH. At least then, I should be able to use whatever currency I want to upgrade the walls. Not to mention I will be able to actually upgrade everything else then as well.

So far I have been able to avoid spending any money on the game. You hear rumors of people spending thousands of dollars on games like this one of Game of War, etc. I think that is absolutely nuts.

I have two TH's going on, one on my Android and the other on the Kindle which I cannot get the Google Storefront on. So with it I cannot buy Gems to level up...everything id done the "manual" way. I opted to do another TH and both are TH7 helping each other out and also the clan. I doubt I'll ever see the 5th Builder since he costs 2000 gems. Some of the stuff at TH9 cost is insane and I really admire and tip my hat off to those at that level. Of course if some want to spend mega $$$$ so be it.

I'm a TH9 with everything maxed except walls and some troops. This game has become pretty boring. Each wall segment costs 3,000,000. Every time I get raided I lose at least 200k and 2500 DE. It's ridiculous.

I was complaining the other day about losing 450-650 Dark Elixir in raids. I get up every morning and see my TH raided twice in the night and seems always one is a TH8 or 9 loaded for bear and more like they're in a Clan War than just raiding. Then some of the higher guys let me know what they lose a day and week and I've pretty much shut-up complaining.

The thing that gripes me is the TH9's coming after me. What I see they use versus what they gain is they are getting the short end of the deal. Yea, they're getting 2-3 stars but based on loot and what they spent, makes no sense. But when I go attacking, I very seldom if any see TH5 I can go after let alone even TH6 that's worth it. Lately I'm seeing TH7-8 mainly in search. So I cannot figure out why TH9's even bother.

The other day a TH9 raided me and got.....$24K Gold, 57K Elixir and 91 Dar Elixir. Yet they used.....

88 (5)Archers, 8 (5)Giants, Barb King, (7) Archer Queen (2), 3 Healing Spells, 1 Rage Spell, 1 Earthquake Spell and 24 CC Troops

And before that about the same loot except 476 Dark Elixir and they used.....

11 (4) Giants, 4 (3) Healers, 22 (4) Wizards, Barb King (7), 2 Poison Spells, Heal Spell and 2 Rage Spells

I think that 5th builder would come in handy earlier inthe game. As one progresses, and can afford the 5th builder, shit gets so expensive to build that I hardly ever have more than one working at a time.
I've got two accounts as well. Neither one have I spent anything on.

Depending on how much I have in the stores, I lose at least 200k of gold and elixr each time I get raided. DE is usually a bit less, but if I am saving for an upgrade, I have lost 2500 to 3000 in a raid before.

Yeah, I've seen that too. Makes it seem like a waste. However, in my situation, where I have an overabundance of elixr, it is a way to "convert" elixr to gold somewhat. plust the bonuses for getting stars. For me, I know that I can replace the elixr spent easily, but the gold is harder to come by and what I need at the moment.

Yea...several in the clan mention the Gold to Elixir in-balance which I wish they would fix or slightly offset. I mean just the walls alone cost a huge chunk when you get up there. I think they need to come out with something like a 'Dark Gold Drill" at higher levels. Say one Dark Gold = 500 Normal gold and you can convert it or use however. Or find some way to convert Elixir to Gold...say since there are Builders maybe have a Trader at TH8 and above. Take spare Elixir and have The Trader convert it to Gold....just thinking outside the box.

I think you've got some good ideas there. Something should be done. Maybe simply allowing the use of either currency to upgrade walls at a lower town hall. As it is, I need 600k in gold to bring the last of my walls up to level 7, and then 8 million gold to bring just the wall around my TH to level 8 before I upgrade my TH to level 9.

Finally moving to TH9. Upgraded everything I could. Seems like it has taken a year at TH8.

My hat is off to you guys...or anyone else who is TH8 and above. I think someone in our clan just moved to TH9 and said the same thing...something like 10-11 months to get there.

I still have a lot to do on my TH7. I've almost maxed my collectors which I made a priority. I upgraded my cannons maxed and two Telsa towers but everything is going to walls right now. It's getting my Barb king up that is becoming a pain. He's only Level 3 but the leader of our clan said work on getting him up to Level 5 to unlock his ability. It kills me when I see Barb Kings at Level 9-10.

All my spells and normal troops are maxed with the exception of Goblins which I wish I knew how to use more especially going after Gold & Dark Elixir. I need cheap over-running quick raiding parties to get at least a 1-2 star. I just cannot use them efficient enough. I almost need a Heal & Rage spell along with 14+ Giants to make a dent. Feel like I'm taking two steps forward but one step back with the costs.

You've got all your walls maxed? You have more patience than I, that's for sure.

I've seen plenty of guys that have upgraded their TH without fully upgrading everything else. In fact, in my first clan we had one of those. He was a TH9, and had obviously rushed upgrading the TH so nothing else was up to snuff. Problem was, in clan wars, he was our #1, and he oftentimes had difficulty taking out their bottom level guys.

I just got my Barb King to level 10, which is the highest I can go with a TH8. Right nowI just have walls left to upgrade, and some dark elixr troops. Dark elixr is tough to come by. 540 per collector every 12 hours isn't alot. Thats 2160 per day, if I don't get hit at all.

I've had some raid me with troops right out of a TH8 or 9 but their base is no-where close. I had one last week that raided me that had a PEKKA, Hogs, Valk, level 6 Barb King, level 5 troops, Poison & Earthquake spells....I went to his base and about 80% of his walls and defense was like TH6 & 7...I'm talking Gold Walls, Level 4-5 Archer Towers & Cannons yet had two Crossbows set next to the TH.

Think people like this are buying their way thru. We see a couple of these a week asking to join but its a no brainer our leader hits the reject button. I say about 85-90% that ask to join get rejected. It's like everyone wants to hurry and get a TH8-9 and the troops to play with but don't want to take care of their base.......basically just want to spend lots of time raiding

Yup. Everything is at higest level for TH8. Only upgrades I have not made are golem and valks. Those will made during TH9, which I just started 5 mins ago.

I'll admit that I rushed a bit to TH10. Not quite the level that K&A talks about, but before I was truly ready for sure. I'm doing it right this time and taking my time before TH11. Walls will all be at least 9, will have L3 Infernos soon and max x-bow. It does take forever though, if (like me) you refuse to pay any money into the game. The walls are especially brutal. Saving up to buy one piece at a time... So boring and time-intensive...

Town Hall 9 here. And yeah it is very time consuming trying to get enough loot to upgrade anything. Before I went to TH9 I had everything upgraded except my Valks, Minions and Healer. Those are the 3 things I use the very least, if ever. Plus I was bleeding gold and elixir trying to hold it while getting everything else maxed out before moving up.
