I hope that's not the final cover art for Bayonetta 2. I might have to buy it digitally if that's the case...
downloads of Bayonetta 2 from Nintendo eShop do not include the first game. |

Not really true, there have been plenty of third party games, it's just that no one who already owned a Xbox 360 or a PS3 would ever buy one (though I've read Rayman Legends on Wii U was the best version), or care to know they exist.

Speaking of XO exclusives and considering the studio's typical style of gameplay, I thought Platinum's Scalebound looked like it could be interesting.

Anyway, you brought it up. As far as I can tell, nobody else did. Must have been on your mind or something. |

Well, good point. I just meant from a technical standpoint.
Was there anything that the WiiU version could do that you couldn't do on the PS3/360 with the iPad app? *sigh* I wish that game had had more legs. |

Re: The Official 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo Thread
I can see why someone would love Nintendo's presentation; just a tease of Zelda would be enough for a lot of Zelda fans, but things like Mario Party, more Smash Bros information, cute stuff like Yarn Yoshi and Captain Toad, and some misc things like Bayonetta, Mario Maker, or Splatoon. Personally, a lot of it comes off as predictable Nintendo fare though that i'm losing interest in; I feel like I can get my fix of Nintendo properties on the 3DS now that I have one.
Personally I'd still put it behind Sony and Microsoft, but they had some good things to show. |
Re: The Official 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo Thread
Well put stan. That's kind of how I feel. It looks nice, but it's really mostly more of the same stuff. I do enjoy the Zelda games, for for the most part if I want to play a Nintendo game, my Wii ones or my 3DS will suffice. I'm still not sold on a WiiU, especially at the current price.

And when you consider that none of the multiplats at any other show will be on the system...I just don't know. I'd put Ubisoft ahead of them too with Division, AC, Far Cry, Valiant Hearts and Rainbow Six. |

I think it depends on what your expectations for Nintendo are now that we know they're going to be last in this generation with little 3rd party support; if you view the presentation simply as wanting new Nintendo properties, it's a win and they delivered the familiar Nintendo stuff. If you're still thinking of it as a primary console instead of option 2 or option 3 for your gaming (or as I mentioned before, you just like Nintendo games), the presentation probably made people happy.
And Zelda was probably the biggest "megaton" of all the conferences. My bias toward WiiU is basically that the only thing they could announce that would make me happy is a tablet-free version of the hardware. But I absolutely know I'll buy one eventually regardless. |
Re: The Official 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo Thread
How is Zelda a 'megaton' though? It's a Nintendo console. It will have a Zelda at some point in its lifecycle. Like stan said, pretty much standard Nintendo fare.

Re: The Official 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo Thread
Anyway, back to actual discussion, all the newer systems are coming out with a lot of sequels and/or reboots. That's what people want. Not a whole lot of new IP at this point from Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo.

It helped that there weren't really any other megatons. The only surprises I can even think of were Rainbow Six the Suda 51 game and a few indies. |
Re: The Official 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo Thread
LBP 3 coming out this year for PS4 was a huge surprise for me.
