Isn't the guy still getting ad money from people playing the game? Or did ads stop serving? I wonder if he's making more money with the rush of people trying to download it before it came down.

Re: Flappy Bird
My gf bugged me to play this game a week ago. I couldn't get past 1 after 20 tries and said f this game. I thought the controls were whack and the game was unplayable.
We went on vacation and i read about him deleting the game so I decided to try it again. I "figured it out" and scored 100 and I was hooked.
So count me in as a fan. The game may be a rip off, but there is an evil genius to this game. It's the most frustrating and addictive game I've ever played on my IOS. Once you get the game, you can understand why it became a viral hit. Once you try the clones, you will realize he actually did a great job of developing a shitty game.

Not exactly sure what the appeal is here. I know people like quick games they can get in and out of easily while they're out and about, but this is mindless nonsense at its very worst. At least in some of these other 'quick' games out there, you can win them by beating all the stages and whatnot. Flappy Bird doesn't even offer that.

Re: Flappy Bird
Lots of games WAAY back could never be won, the point was to keep increasing your high score. Mine is now 73.
You can't view leader boards for this anymore but when you could there were a ton of people who supposedly had 9,999. I haven't timed how long it takes between pipes but that is still a long ass time to be playing this game, LOL.

Couldn't resist trying it again and finally got a feel for it I guess. Routinely get into double digits and have a high of 24. It won't be something I play more than a couple minutes a day, but I guess that sort of the norm for most mobile gaming.

Well, I do believe there's a difference between the old arcade games like Pac-Man, and this. Pac-Man was playable and fun. Flappy Birds is sadistic and isn't fun at all, in my opinion. It's just a test of your patience... and that's about it.
