Got the 25000 Spidey cover, now to concentrate on PVP. I think its going to be tough to hit 3000 for me.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

With only 3 events, there's no way I'll be hitting 3000. Oh well, lots of good rewards along the way at least.

I dunno, I think he's doing a fine job for me deterring people in PVP. No one wants to waste the time and burn through hit points on him. I'm sure that will change as I get higher level and break past the 800 point mark though. He's also really nice for when you know the enemy is going to use a power on the next turn that does a lot of single target damage, then you can get an Anger out and get some green cascades.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I love it when he angers because after he get the green I use fishnets Black Widow purple on him, get some more of the greens he was just kind enough to put on the board for me and blast him with Ares. I buzz through him like a knife through butter, I just make sure I've got BW blue and purple ready to go.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

What about if the cascades net the team enough AP to trigger abilities? I combo him with Thor and quite often it gives me enough to do Call The Storm. Not to mention all the damage done by said cascades.

I bet they do at least 4, and maybe have some lightning rounds that count. They've been pretty generous with putting progression rewards in reach. It'd be kind of odd to change that during such a highly promoted event.

Finished Top 50 in the PVE for a Grey Suit Black Widow. Only got useless 2*'s from the Anniversary tokens though :( Got a 3* Falcon from a regular token but I already have that color maxxed.

Don't hold your breath for it. The new PVP event has 2 days 5 hours left, and the Anniversary event ends in 4 days 17 hours. Unless they start doubling up with Lightning Rounds and they aren't stand alone like they normally are, I don't see there being more than 3 events.

I very rarely if ever run into that because I use Ares and Thor a lot so I keep the board pretty clean of green. He just ends up feeding me most of the time. I bagged my Black widow red cover and my Devil Dinosaur. That purple power is goofy.

I know, very goofy! Of course that's the only power of his I have and I have 4 of them! No other colors, lol.

Yeah, that makes sense then. I still think people tend to avoid him, especially with Thor as well, just because it's a lot of hit points to chew through. I know this will change once I'm a bigger target points wise though.

I tend to avoid Hulk mainly due to his large health pool. Plus, he always seems to start 5 minute long cascades when his Anger goes off.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I ended up getting REALLY lucky with my PvE draw and ended up coming in second. Between that and all of the 3-stars I've been getting from the Anniversary token drops, I ended up having to spring for more HP just to fit Psylocke, Invisible Woman, Captain Marvel, Human Torch, She-Hulk and Doc Ock on my roster. I'm looking at it as a good problem to have. I'm just glad I racked up 30K in ISO to max out the 3 Grey Suit BW covers and level up some other 3-stars.

ETA: I'm really hating having to keep a roster spot open for a 1-star with the current PVP. Guess I'll have to level one up again and keep them around just in case.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Always keep Jugs. He is a beast in the combined events. I think it's a toss up for the remaining 1 stars. I just got rid of Storm before this event so only have Jugs and Iron Man.

flashburn 10-13-14 09:28 AM

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I wish I had a Juggernaut. :( Not going to spend the ISO on fully leveling one now though.

I got a couple of Devil Dinosaur covers yesterday. Out of the 6 anniversary tokens i've picked up, 4 have been OBW, which is annoying. I want gold not 2*!
I dont have a 1* nor can i buy a new spot with HP so i'm kind of stuck for now. Hopefully they put in another PvE

They just did! Venom heroic. LazyCap rewards.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Meh, I'm going to be fully covered on some 3*'s that I have ZERO interest in dumping ISO into.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Cap is pretty fucking stellar. Pair him with IM40's yellow to generate blue and red and you can pretty much run the board. Hood's black reduces the countdowns and does damage to help out too.

fujishig 10-13-14 01:27 PM

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I could actually use a Blue LazyCap reward, but the selection of characters is awful (though I never fully leveled 2* Thor, which may be part of the problem)

This is all just an elaborate ruse on your part to sucker people into dumping tons of ISO into IM40 like you have! I will not believe your lies!!! ;)

pinata242 10-13-14 01:50 PM

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Ha! Well, to be fair, IM40's yellow is independent of his level. His level just makes him a damage sponge!

The character I avoid most is the character I also use the most - Fishnets Black Widow. The computer plays her savagely. I wish to hell I still had a Juggernaught.

The computer is just cheap, and BW's purple and to a lesser extent blue is just a killer if she gets it off (because of freaking endless cascades) before you kill her. Sooo many people use her so I don't avoid her all that much, but I prefer going after, say, a Storm in pvp than an OBW.

Is there anything else worthwhile in the PVE? Otherwise I plan on just ignoring it.
