The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Cool gameplay and intriguing plot.
Gameplay <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/O_j9uKBmUEk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Engine Trailer <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/mTLle17gIYE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The Division is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, real-world events which "revealed how vulnerable we've become"; society has become "fragile" and "complex". In the game, a disease that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States to collapse in five days. The player is part of a group called "Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)", called "The Division" for short. This group was established to combat the threat and do whatever it takes to "save what remains" in a massive multiplayer online situation, putting them against friends, AI, and other players. |
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
They're still putting Tom Clancy's name on random titles I see.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I want it.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Tom Clancy aside the game looks amazing.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Day 1 for me.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
They are also releasing this on PC, as well. I'm not sure if the release will coincide with the console release, but the developer released a video right after E3 stating that they will release a PC version as well.
Probably my most anticipated game for 2014. |
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Haha yeah, I looked it up today actually, PC Version is due around the same time.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Love the voice work in that first video.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Day 1 for me. Graphics are stunning and I love the tablet integration.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
That video was fantastic....I haven't played many online multi-player games but this looks great. The ps4 may get me into online multiplayer.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
That's pretty.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
announced in a investor conference call that this has been pushed to 2015.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Not surprising. There was a rumor a few months back that there was barely any work completed on this title yet.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Dammit
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
One of my Top 5 must games I had planned this year. Looks like Destiny, Last of Us(?), Planetside 2 and one racing game (Project Cars or Driveclub) with Diablo III (PS4 and/or 360)
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Yeah, i'm not surprised about the delay.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
The day that the delay for Watch Dogs was announced I assumed that this would delayed as well. And it is.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I think we might need to change the date in the title to Q1 2016. ;)

re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
yeah, sounds like jan - march 2016 now.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Fall 2017 confirmed.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
This is the shit that bothers me about these bogus release dates they give for games nowadays. There was obviously never a chance in Hell this game would be out in 2014 so why claim that bullshit?
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Hate to see this but it's becoming the norm with the new gen games. We hardly saw delays like we've seen in the last year with the 360 & PS3 but these delays are not small and short...like a year. I'd soon as not see a single trailer until a date is confirmed and written in stone.

First we get a delay and then yesterday another huge delay and guess what we get today....
Sounds Like The Division Will Get a Beta"We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch Ubisoft may hold a beta for its upcoming online shooter The Division, according to comments from chief executive Yves Guillemot. Speaking during a recent earnings briefing about the game's delay to 2016, Guillemot referenced alpha and beta periods for the game. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sou.../1100-6427295/ ...any bets there will be a delay on the Alpha & Beta tests? |
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I'm sure the executives are gun shy in lieu of the Assassins Creed debacle.

The Division Collector’s Edition & Season Pass Revealed
http://www.xboxachievements.com/imag...ionsleeper.jpg Ubisoft has detailed The Division’s Sleeper Agent Collector’s Edition and outlined the Season Pass that comes with the upcoming, cover-based online co-op shooter MMO type-thing. The Sleeper Agent Collector’s Edition comes with a “fully functional watch which glows like the in-game SHD watches”, an Agent Armband, an artbook, a poster and an exclusive Collector’s Box. re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Good post and that's a nice set. As much as I like what I saw with Rainbow Six: Siege, I think this is the game with far more expandability, depth and possibilities. I'm looking forward to it and Uncharted 4 which hopefully come shortly after his.

re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I like when they offer the season pass as part of the set. Best Buy has both up for preorder now. After GCU, the gold edition is $80 and the CE is $128. The watch actually looks kinda cool, like a tactical watch. Wonder how good it will actually work.
Spoiler:

re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I'll be waiting for the beta at the end of the year to determine if I pre-order or not. I'd like to purchase the Gold Edition as it includes the season pass, but at the same time, this is a Ubisoft game that is always online. As it stands now, Ubisoft's track record for online multiplayer has sucked and their last few new entries have been lackluster (Watch Dogs and The Crew).
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the campaign on Watch Dogs, but the multiplayer was unplayable. The Crew just sucked. |
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
My desire for this went down a bit after watching that gameplay footage from a few days ago. Going into the "dark zone" and just shooting it up with the other groups of 3 didn't seem like to much fun. Yes, the graphics are pretty damn good but the game play just doesn't seem like something I haven't already played.

re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I think those looking for some other "COD or Tom Clancy" type shooter might be surprised there is far more than walking around and shooting at others. This will have a more RPG element than you might know. From IGN about the story and gameplay....
http://www.ign.com/wikis/the-division The Division will break away from the common conception of RPGs. You will not talk to one person to get a mission, nor will there be acts. Instead, you will have a full map of New York with objectives you can choose to do at any time. David Polfeldt, managing director at Massive, says “We wanted a lighter game than World of Warcraft. I’m not calling [The Division] an MMO,” although he’s aware of the similarities. The Division will not, however, feature classes. “We allow you to progress through the skill tree as you prefer,” Polfeldt explains. Plus you can do a mulligan on your skill tree progress at any time and switch to custom-built classes with the touch of a button. Though it’s a role-playing game first and foremost, The Division also draws from the hardcore survivalism of Day Z or State of Decay. When your sleeper agent awakens, their belongings include just three days of food, water, and supplies. After that, you must scour for resources like ammo and weapons. The whole point is to drive players to explore and discover. A variety of factions will be in the game. Some factions will be helpful, some will be harmful, and the remainder of FEMA and those type of organizations will be the biggest help in the game. The weaponized virus that nearly wiped out the population will still be in play in Tom Clancy's The Division. Details as to how it will affect gameplay have not yet been released |
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I got my Alpha code today for XB1. Starts on Wednesday. Seems kinda late for an Alpha, since the game is out in 3 months.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Seems like a slower, more realistic Gears of War.

re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
After letting it download for two hours last night while playing Tomb Raider, it was only 55% complete. At this rate, I probably won't even be able to play the damn thing since it's only 3 days long. Pretty dumb move that they didn't let it run through the weekend.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
I got an email for the Alpha test but I haven't played yet.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Did you guys get to play it? I am quite curious about this one.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
They sent me a beta code today, which is kinda odd since I canceled my preorder after the alpha.
|
re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
someone really needs to change the date in this thread title.

Re: The Division -- Xbox One/PS4 -- March 8th, 2016
Going to play the beta this weekend with my friends. I am looking forward to this game, but I am a little upset with how the best loot is behind the dark zone PVP. The dark zone just seems to be a troll's paradise. We will try the dark zone, and we may even have fun, but I hate that they would try to force this on players who just want to play pve. Even Destiny did not force you into the PVP...you could get all the gear you wanted in the PVE mode.
