That just sounds like marketing BS. Cosmos just started airing a few weeks ago, and this game has been in development for quite a while, it comes out in less than 6 months. What it's "inspired" by is Alpha Centauri, as it's basically a sequel in everything but name.

Cosmos has actually been in production now for at least the past three years. The announcement and pre-production started in 2011.

And of course there's Assetto Corsa (pretty) and rFactor 2 (not so pretty) these days.

Ordered the Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor and the Asus Maximus VI Hero ATX LGA1150 Motherboard. Two steps closer to finally having a new PC.

Decidedly mixed reviews, but a new Tex Murphy game was released last week (Tesla Effect). I'm sure many PC gamers have at some point played Under a Killing Moon or the Pandora Directive, they were among the high points for FMV games.

I'm looking to add 32GB of RAM to my PC. What's the best RAM out there? I last used Corsair. Is it okay to stick with them or is there better out there?

Re: PC Gaming Thread
Are you running several virtual machines? You shouldn't need more than 16 GB RAM. I know that RAM is cheap, and it's better than be covered and all, but for gaming and more general stuff, you won't need more than 16 GB.
Corsair is good. G.Skill has always been a good brand, great price/performance, that's what I have. Any of the 3-5 best known brands should be fine.
If you want to overclock, or get DDR3 2400 or above, then do a little more research, but there aren't a lot of brands if you go "extreme".

Even 16GB is overkill unless you are doing more than just gaming on your PC. I'd just buy a couple 4GB sticks for now, and if you need more later, drop in another 2x4GB then.

Re: PC Gaming Thread
Agree with everyone else about not really needing 32 GB, especially since I recall budget being a concern. The extra $100 would be better suited going to a video card upgrade or a bump in SSD size.

If you do get 32GB of RAM, you'll also have to get the Professional/Ultimate version of Windows, since Home Premium (for Windows 7, not sure about the different Windows 8 flavors) only supports up to 16GB. Another thing to consider.

I have Windows 7 Pro and 16GB of RAM. I thought I'd upgrade but if it's not needed, I wont bother.

Crap. The CPU cooler I got is actually 20.5mm too tall for my case. And of course I had to notice after I installed it.

Re: PC Gaming Thread
Well, despite the CPU cooler issue, the new PC build is running quite smoothly. I already ordered a new cooler that is shorter and built by the manufacturers of my case (and recommended by them for it). I also want to get a new PSU. Not that my current one is bad but I forgot that it's non-modular and the mess of cables in there is agravating.

If anyone does get this, play the game in Casual mode, so you can skip puzzles.

Re: PC Gaming Thread
After putting together my new PC and installing the latest AMD drivers (or was it when I installed the mobo utilizes/drivers?), it installed something called AMD Gaming Evolved. The official site was no help to find out what it's for (mainly PR bullshit with zero actual information). Some other forums mentioned that it's for optimizing games on my rig. Is it worth keeping installed or should I ditch it?

Re: PC Gaming Thread
Seems the same as Nvidia's own GeForce Experience app which automatically updates drivers and sets game quality settings. I like Nvidia's app quite a bit, don't see a reason to ditch it.
