New DLC coming out Oct 11th. Called "Blood Ties" and it has Lara exploring Croft Manor in an attempt to retain ownership from her uncle who is looking to take the place for himself.

I'll probably pick this up on XBox, I enjoyed the Baba Yaga DLC and don't mind revisiting this again at all.

Seems like this gen is where the Sony console is the better of multiplatform games. Last gen is MS.
Granted... this one had more time on it but overall it seems to me that PS4 is the best for multiplatform games in which version is better.

Well at launch the PS4 was a beefier system while the X1 was underpowered and had resources reserved for Kinect. I think that was inevitable.
Of course that may have flipped with the newer consoles that just came out. I haven't kept up with those.

Kind of, but not entirely.
PS4 slim - same power as PS4
XBox One S - essentially same power as XBox One (some titles perform marginally better, but still no better than PS4)*
PS4 Pro - out in about a month, will be significantly better than both of the above.
XBox "Scorpio" - out late next year, will supposedly be better than all of the above. Coming out a year after PS4 Pro, it damn well should perform better, but it's MS, so...
As for this game, I read that the PS4 version is pretty much the same as the XO version in terms of performance. Slightly better resolution but maybe not noticeable, though? I haven't watched the video above.
Actually, other than resolution, I read elsewhere that the XBox 360 (yes, the old console) version performs better than both the PS4 and XO versions due to better texture filtering and lower input lag. I guess both the PS4 and XO versions have bad input lag? I don't know. Weird.
Here's the actual article:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/di...r-ps4-face-off
"However, we were a little disappointed to see that input lag on aiming still appears to be an issue on the PlayStation 4 version of the game, just as it was in the original Xbox One release. We originally thought that Nixxes had fixed this as part of its porting process - it's not an issue at all on the PC and Xbox 360 versions - but the same developer also handled this new PS4 game. Aiming weapons feels significantly heavier and less responsive, and while you do adjust to the additional latency, it just doesn't feel right - in stark contrast to Nixxes' other ports."
*other than the HDR and 4K upscaling, which are a separate thing, IMO.

The main reason to pick up the PS4 version is all of the extra content. I'm a little surprised they didn't release a GOTY type version on XB1 as well, but that may have been part of the contract.

What is on the PS4 that is not on the Xbox One/PC 20th Anniversary version/update (besides Playstation VR stuff)?

I'm only about 1.5 hours in so far and enjoying it on PS4. I haven't really noticed any input lag unless it disguises itself as "crap, should have jumped just a hair sooner".

In the wake of her father’s death, Lara’s uncle challenges her ownership of Croft Manor. Lara must explore her childhood home in the new “Blood Ties” story mode to reclaim her legacy and uncover a family mystery that will change her life forever.
In “Lara’s Nightmare” hordes of the undead overrun Croft Manor, and Lara must defend it before the nightmare overwhelms her!
“Blood Ties” includes over an hour of additional single player story, as well as community challenges with card modifiers that allow you to compete against your friends’ scores in “Lara’s Nightmare”.
This pack also includes five classic Lara Croft skins, an outfit and weapon inspired by Tomb Raider III, and the new “Extreme Survivor” difficulty setting for the main campaign.
With over an hour of new story, a replayable combat mode, classic skins, a new outfit and weapon, and a new difficulty mode, this is the perfect way to celebrate 20 years of the iconic Lara Croft.

That last sentence makes me laugh. A horde mode that should have been included with the base game, some useless skins/outfits and a weapon? The only real content there is a whole hour of new story? A whole hour? They're so generous.
That's pretty pathetic.

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One now, PS4 on 10/11/16)
I don't think the original release had any maps/areas that were suitable for a horde mode type, hence it's inclusion specifically in the Manor map.
The Blood Ties story seems like it's just walking around reading notes and finding collectibles ala Gone Home type of gameplay, so i'll probably wait for it to get cheaper before buying on XBox.
And yeah, I think Music is simply getting at the only PS4 specific content is the VR stuff, otherwise there's no real content advantage over the XBox release. It's all available via DLC/Season Pass.

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One now, PS4 on 10/11/16)
So I've been playing the PS4 version now, played a good chunk of it this weekend, maybe half-way through.
I have to say, I think I like it better than Uncharted 4. Sure UnCh4 had WAY better graphics (not that TR's are bad, they're quite good, but Uncharted is just on another level, graphics-wise).
U4 was a bit too linear for me, and had too much repetitive gunplay. I like how TR is a bit more open-world, has more possibilities for exploration and doesn't throw hundreds of goons at you to gun down as if you're Rambo. The setting can get a bit "same-y", but at least they mix it up with the tombs not being all covered with snow and ice like the rest of the game is.

I haven't been able to get into Rise yet, it just didn't grab me though I intend to give it a thorough shot in the near future.
While I love Uncharted's characters and settings -- especially #2, I agree that the gameplay and shooting mechanics are a bit lacking and that Tomb Raider was simply more fun to play.
