Looks like you didn't know that you buy the Nekros BP from the market for credits (100K IIRC). You have all the three parts for him.

The only frame BPs you don't buy for credits are the Primes.

Well ssshheeeettttt, I didn't know that! I'm sure I'm short on resources though. ;)

No worries. Next we'll talk about how to get Hydroid and Mirage...though I guess your Mirage quest is underway. For Hydoid, look for Vay Hek runs in the chat...or at least take them if you see them. http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Councilor_Vay_Hek

So when you're trolling the recruiting channel, along with the Towers you have targeted, keep an eye out for "ODA" for cells and "Vay Hek" for Hydroid parts.

Got that Dark Sword...and was on with clan guys who wanted Neural Sensors. Got six. And started another Forma.

I was seriously about to give that kubrow a name. Perhaps not a flattering one. ;)

Already done! Cujo! (Yes, very original ;) )

Got in a random pug and we took on Lephantis. Wow, wait a PIA! Only were 3 of us and I had to look up in the Wiki on how to take it down. We did it but it took a long time.

Yeah, Lephantis got a buff with U14. You used to be able to freeze him with Rhino Stomp when he opened up his weak spots, but that doesn't work anymore. I've found that Nova is the new boss killer since most of the bosses have been made immune to Rhino's Stomp stasis. She still slows them to a crawl and makes them take double damage.

Also, I think all Infested have been given a buff against puncture damage, and Boltor Prime is all puncture. You don't notice so much on smaller enemies, but against Lephantis, Soma easily outperforms Boltor Prime.

Hopefully you got a few cells at least. And you should put that potato on Nova. Vauban is awesome, but she has a lot wider utility IMO.

Need some advice on what items are worth spending Plat on.

Color packs:
I already bought the Saturated Color pack. Will buy Smoke too (150p).

Armor:
I like that armor you mentioned Edo or something so that's another 100p (?)... would only get the shoulders, don't like the chest.

Accessories:
Definitely getting the syandana wings. Which other ones do you recommend?

Other:
Extra slots for frames and guns are a definite. What about sentinels? I can get 1 more without having to sell an existing one.

Maybe an extra slot for a kubrow?

What don't you recommend I get?

Thanks

Armor:

I don’t recommend the bundles. The only leg armor that’s halfway usable, and even then rarely, is the Edo, and the chest armors look stupid on just about everybody too. As best I can recall, I use Eos chest armor on Frost Prime, and I use the Edo leg armor on Rhino Prime, and in both cases, it’s at least partly just so I get some use out of them. If I were buying now, I would only get the shoulders for Edo and maybe Eos for slender and/or female frames. 50p each.

Syandanas:

The early Syandanas have been surpassed by the newer ones, so there’s a bunch you can skip. The two I recommend are the Pyra, because flaming wings duh, and for a more masculine and or streamlined look, the Imperator. 50p each.

You can preview all Armor and Syandanas on your frames before buying, so you may find that you like some that I don't.

Color Palettes:

If I were buying one palette, I’d make sure to get black, and I’d probably just go for the Tenno one for 75p. I don’t see that it’s missing much for variety. If you’re buying two palettes, I think I’d get Classic Saturated for bright colors and Tenno (instead of Smoke) for black, white and some other nice options. I also think we’ll get the Halloween pack with lots of reds, greens, yellows and oranges. They might even put out the PS4 pack again at some point with blacks, whites, blues and reds, and the Valentines pack comes with a dark chocolate that looks black in most lighting...so if you can wait...

Sentinel Accessories:

For 15p, I think you have to get the diamond wings for Carrier so he doesn't look like a flying scrotum. The wings can be used on all sentinels, but I think the other sentinels look best without accessories.

Slots:

The only mistake you can make with slots is getting more than you need because you're keeping things you shouldn't. For weapons, get enough for all of the primes and a few odds and ends from the dojo, and you’re good. For frames, don’t duplicate primes and regulars except for temporary mastery rank purposes…same for sentinels. I’d buy two stasis slots for Kubrows so you can have one of each…maybe a fifth for breeding replacements. Slots are where you should spend most of your plat.

Reactors and Catalysts:

You’ll generally get enough of these from Lotus Gifts and other alerts to keep you occupied, but you could justify buying a couple if you got your platinum cheap. I recommend patience.

You might also want to buy an avatar. There's a good variety for 15-30p.

There is literally nothing else you should spend platinum on.

If you need some specific rare mod or prime part, I can probably help.

Goot, we should probably have a discussion about Bronco Prime at some point since you are building it.

It's not going to be immediately apparent how awesome that gun is, but with a potato and few forma, it's an efficient little beast of a gun. Mine does something on the order of 5K damage per shot. Also, it's a shotgun revolver pistol with gold trim...so yeah.

I'd potato it now and forma it at least 3 times, all V's. Of the mods you have, you should put on, in order:

Hornet Strike (base damage)
Lethal Torrent (Bronco needs the fire rate increase along with the multishot)
Barrel Diffusion (more multishot, and yeah, it does exactly what you'd think on a shotgun)
Ice Storm (nightmare mod that increases Bronco's clip from 4 to 6 and adds ice damage)

Those are all Vs. From there, you'll just add other elementals in whatever combo suits you.

Speaking of, you should read this: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Damage_2.0

My Bronco Prime is Rank 14. I have all of those mods except Ice Storm.
  • Once forma'd and modded, does the Bronco feel as powerful/over-powered as my Boltor Prime currently does? Eg., one or two-shotting most mobs.
  • The low ammo clip may get annoying (I hate to reload) even with Ice Storm once I get it. How can I get the Bronco semi-useable without burning 3 formas and a potato on it until I know if I will like this gun?

My Orokin Catalyst is cooking so that will give me 3 or 4 I think.

Leveling a new frame. Not sure we really covered this and too lazy to click back a few pages. ;) I now have three rank 30 frames. Next up is Vauban, then Necro once I buy the BP from the market, then Mirage once I get help doing the last quest. Generally, what is the best way to level up a new frame at least to the point where they are not so squishy? Obviously, grouping is the best option so look for groups in Recruiting. Any other advice?

Thanks

The Bronco Prime is probably, outside of the Brakk, both the most powerful secondary and the most powerful shotgun in the game. You'll be one shotting 99% of the stuff you come across if you build it halfway properly. If I didn't have a Brakk, which is basically just a better BP, the BP would probably be my secondary 95% of the time.

It's also very very ammo efficient, meaning you can use it as a primary without ever switching to your actual primary.

Without a Catalyst? Hmm. So you'll have 30 points to work with. Hornet Strike should cost at least 10, depending on where you have it leveled, and both Lethal Torrent and Barrel Diffusion cost 11. And you kind of have to get Ice Storm on there too. I believe it costs 9. Math doesn't add up...

Always start with an Aura mod, the frame's damage dealing power and efficiency, so you can pump XP directly into the frame. In terms of raw efficiency, it's tough to beat a T1D or ODD, but for your purposes, Semeini might be better because of the credits and cells. It's also a spot you can just jump in, and people will almost always be there. In terms of strategy, just do what you were doing last night...get up on something and toss down Vortex in strategic spots.

Also, you're still sitting on a Gold potato, and you have several frames who are worthy of it. Using one of them on somebody will make leveling much more fun.

My favorite frames more or less in order, for your potato-deciding purposes:
  1. Rhino
  2. Nova
  3. Loki
  4. Zephyr
  5. Frost
  6. Vauban
  7. Mirage
  8. Nekros
  9. Nyx

And the updated Oberon and Ash might be in the discussion, but I'm not sure yet. Note that you already have a few of the above.

Hey Chess, how can I tell from the Wiki which frame's powers scale to match higher enemy levels?

On the wiki, you really have to infer it from the description of the power. As a rule, if a power simply does raw damage, it doesn't scale, and if it has some kind of status effect or crowd control, it does. Examples of abilities that scale:
  • Rhino: On stomp, the damage is fixed, but the stasis effect doesn't care what level an enemy is (some bosses are now exceptions). On Roar, team damage is buffed the same regardless of enemy level. Iron Skin doesn't exactly scale, but it's not hard to keep up and is cheap, so it kind of does.
  • Nova: Molecular Prime has fixed damage, but the slowing effect and the bonus damage apply regardless of enemy level, including bosses. And Wormhole obviously isn't affected.
  • Loki: Radial Disarm takes enemy guns away regardless of level. All of his other abilities (Invisibility, Decoy, Switch Teleport) scale as well, but none deal damage.
  • Nyx: Absorb takes in enemy damage based on how much they dish out, so it scales almost perfectly. Chaos doesn't care about level either.
  • Nekros: Shadows of the Dead resurrects the last 10 enemies you killed at the same level they were, so it scales perfectly. Terrify and Desecrate also aren't affected by enemy level.
  • Vauban: Bastille and Vortex both have the same effect on enemies regardless of level
  • Frost: Snow Globe does take damage, but it's cheap to cast, and you can stack them. Once inside the globe, all enemies are affected the same way.
  • Zephyr: Tornado and Turbulence both seem to have the same effect regardless of enemy level. Obviously, her mobility stuff isn't effected by enemy level either.
  • Excalibur: Radial Blind scales.
  • Trinity used to scale perfectly. Not sure how well she scales post-nerf of Blessing, but Link should still be really good.
  • Mag's Shield Polarize scales well against Corpus.

Frames who don't scale well IMO: Ember, Volt, Banshee, Hydroid (decent crowd control though), Oberon (better CC with recent buff).

Frames that don't exactly scale but that are still great: Ash and Saryn

Frames that scale perfectly but still suck: Valkyr

When the infested invade a planet, they eventually make their way to where that planet's boss is and an infested boss called Phorid takes over. You run his level as many times as it takes to get her three parts.

Yo Chess,

Operation Gatecrash. Did you finish this event yet? When does it end (not on Wiki and I can't check main site at work)? Can I solo it with Rhino? I guess those loot caches may contain forma bps, fusion cores, void keys, and rare resources. Not too bad.

Also, apparently they are removing Frame's abilities from mods in U15.

chess 10-20-14 09:36 AM

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

Yeah, I guess they are going to be "built in" which is sort of good. I kind of liked the strategy involved in balancing the abilities and the upgrades, but I can understand why they'd want the frames to have all 4 abilities available.

Gatecrash ends on the 23rd, I think. Yes, you can run it with Rhino, and I wouldn't recommend searching for caches. Just knock out the runs. You get weaker as you go, culminating in my Rhino having ~200 shield and ~100 health and doing almost no damage on stomp on the 15th run. In hindsight, I probably could have run Loki since invisibility probably isn't affected.

I'd say this is probably the worst of the events since I started playing the game. Just pure grind. But I got it done.

I did grab a catalyst BP one day this weekend, but I missed the Ice Storm. ;)

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

How long did it take you to go through 15 missions? So far, I have one under my belt.

Can you alternate frames to lessen the harmful effects or does it still apply the same cumulative effect no matter which frame? E.g., run it 5 times with Rhino, then 5 with Nova and Nova will only be harmed by 5 missions not 10.

And, I need to pull you away from Destiny for a night. Still need to knock out that last Mirage mission. :)

chess 10-20-14 02:04 PM

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

I blew through them pretty quickly. I'd estimate probably 5-7 minutes per. I don't think alternating frames helps.

Just found this on the wiki for the debuffs:
  • Missions run on Earth will decrease the total shield and shield recharge speed you have during the mission each run you make, up to the maximum at the 4th run completed (in which the shield decrease applies on the 5th run). Shield recharge rate is also severely lowered, with shields recharging about 10 shields every second.
  • Missions on Phobos will reduce the damage you can deal with your Warframe each time you run the mission, again up to the 4th run. Warframe powers are significantly reduced in range, strength, and duration, so significant that a thirty seconds of normal duration is reduced to just three seconds, with similar effects on power and range. Abilities whose effects do not greatly vary with or depend on all these variables may be more useful, especially instant-use utility powers.
  • Missions on Ceres will experience drops in overall health each time you run the mission up to the 4th run. Power range may be reduced as well.

Yikes on the duration hit! That rules out Nova, Loki and Zephyr. I'm not sure who else I'd use other than Rhino, and by the 15th run, even he was HURTING. I think if I were you, I'd just go for 10 and get the mods. The missions don't get hard until after 10 either.

That last Mirage mission is a mission type that I don't think you've done (Infested Sabotage), and it can be a bit confusing. Will help if I catch you on.
