Not bad last night with Mirage and glad we got "Dagger" up past 48 on Breeding grounds. That ends today right so we'll see where we stand....

I did one of the Invasion Missions to get the Mutagen Mass and leveled up Mirage to the point of adding Blind Rage but called it a night before testing out the additional strength. I'm actually splitting between Prism and Hall of Mirrors. I did that in another Mobile Defense and Hall of Mirrors just caused havoc. I read the wiki again and max power strength can provide up to 48% Weapon Damage per hologram...not to bad at all when you have four alongside you. She's at Level 40 so more to go to see just what she can do. Interesting to see her in a mix with Nekros Shadow of the Dead and Nyx Chaos....that would be a lot of bodies...her Prism would be ideal with Nova in a Survival, MD or Plain Defense. One thing I did notice in tight places versus more wide open it seems to work different.

Yeah, Mirage is interesting, but I'm not sure whether I'll end up being a fan. I got her a few levels over 20 and will probably forma her twice. She plays like a mix between Nova and Loki, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. I'll be excited to see her alt helmet on an alert at some point.

For Goot: I used to always recommend that people grab a Rhino and give him a Reactor right away, but with Rhino Prime out, I've changed my stance on that a bit. I still think we should farm up his parts for you, but I wouldn't spend the Reactor on him. I really think that first reactor you buy should go to a frame called Nova. She doesn't have a Prime version yet, and she's pretty amazing. Here's a very basic Nova build to give you an idea what she's about, but my build is much better than this guy's.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/FUTE_-AAMC4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Also, keep an eye out this afternoon for a 24 hour Reactor or Catalyst alert. Will allow you to save 20p and will give you some flexibility later.

Thanks Chess! How long will the reactor/catalyst alerts last? I typically play tanky characters versus the squishy caster types which Nova seems to be from just reading the wiki. Is that an accurate assumption? Or can she hold her own? How well does she solo?

Edit: wait, an alert is a mission right? will i be able to do it at a low level?

Most alerts are an hour give or take, but the "gift from the Lotus" alerts are usually 24 hours.

I can escort you through anything in the game and can taxi you to nodes you don't have opened yet. I'll also teach you how to get invites from randoms.

Nova is a squishy speedy caster type, but she slows enemies down, including their fire rate, and makes them take double damage and explode when they die. It's a hell of a defense. I can solo most anything in the game with her.

If you're looking for a tank, you'll probably like Rhino a lot, but it will take a bit to get you a Rhino Prime, and I wouldn't want you put put a Reactor on a regular Rhino. Same for Frost, but I can give you most of the parts for Frost Prime. I'm trying to think of a tanky frame that doesn't have a prime version, and I'm stumped. Trinity is still pretty tanky, I guess...even after the nerfing.

I thought I read that people couldn't taxi anymore after the new update. Is that not correct?

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

Pretty sure I taxied somebody yesterday, but it wasn't clear whether it opened that node for her.

Goot, sorry I missed your message on Saturday. Noticed it late last night.

I'll be interested in seeing how they handle inputs for the powers on XO. On the PS4, they are mapped to the touchpad, and it works pretty phenomenally. I'm guessing they'll default to "toggle", which is terrible, but they'll give the option to map them to the d-pad. If so, I strongly recommend mapping them to the d-pad, because this game is all about the powers.

I'm completely caught up with update 14. Everything is leveled, including all four Kubrows. My take so far:
  • Mirage is a lot of fun and can be set up to be very powerful. Can't wait to see her alt helmet on an alert.
  • Both Quantas are interesting, and they are actually quite different from each other.
  • The Wolverine claws are badass...not objectively better than other melee weapons, but they are really slick.
  • Kubrows are fun to play with and have great presentation, but the current systems in place for their breeding and maintenance are utter dogshit. Luckily, the next update will allow you to "delete" them.

Well yesterday's runs were useless except for getting more mods....after everyone left I ran three more on Kappa and same result. However we were picking up some other mod like the Sawtooth a lot and some different ones than what we were seeing. I don't know if it matters but one thing I did see a lot was the bodies of the Power Fist just vanish the moment they were killed. ..not all but several and after Desecration nothing popped up

The Tower Survival runs were just as bad...no-way you should see that many lousy Sentinel mods especially at the 40 minute mark. My dog stayed alive the whole time and the more I think about it I might put a Potato on him after all. His cloak feature has helped out quite a bit and I've seen him go after a few just enough to distract them from me.

Your dog looks really great and is probably worthy of a potato.

If you have another imprint from him, I'd like to trade you for it. I have some Sunika imprints that you could probably use.

Edit: The towers have always been that way for sentinel mods. Not sure why it's just now bothering you.

Is your Loki Prime building?

Must have read my mind...I actually do and was going to put at least one out there to trade for a Sunika. If you have one then yes I can

yes...I know but just maybe at least mix it up a bit especially the Tower drops

Is your Loki Prime building?

Nope...still missing two pieces. I think the BP and Systems. I traded for the Chassis and Helmet.

Felt like we didn't much accomplished last night either. I put it out there I wanted to trade a chassis for a systems I actually got two offers to buy it. I got in a Tower 4 defense but we failed at 25. At 15 we got some Barrel part and at 20 a Forma...sucks. I might try and sell the Loki Chassis and then look for a deal on the Systems. There were quite a few looking to join T4 Defense last night before I went to bed. I might try the Clan and put it out and the Recruiting part to.

I'm an XO guy and just snagged this last night. Going to jump into it this weekend.

Is there a guide out there for new players that you PS4 folks might recommend? I aske because reading this thread was like reading another language. It seemed in-depth while still making no sense to me.

Xmiyux, I'm right there with ya! LOL I play on the PS4 and have been trying to sync up with Chess as he has graciously offered to give me the run down. I know the official Warframe wiki has a lot of good info.

The game has a steep learning curve up front, but once you figure out how the mods work and how crafting works, the rest should fall into place. You should know up front that the game is incredibly deep despite its seemingly simple instance-based gameplay.

The best place to start is the wiki. I'm also happy to give advice and/or answer questions here. I'd imagine Gooter asked some of the same questions you might have on the previous page.

Warframe Wiki: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/WARFRAME_Wiki

This video has some outdated menus, but the basic principles all still apply.

Of the current starter frames, I think I lean toward Volt. He's a lot of fun in lower level stuff.

Gooter 09-03-14 01:20 PM

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

I don't remember Volt being one of the 3 choices when starting out. It was Excalibur, Mag, and Loki I think. Could be wrong. I did watch some Volt videos. He does look fun.

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

You are correct but a lot has changed since day one with the PS4..and got better though still some quirks here & there. Loki to me is the most underrated frame out there and really not given more credit and looks he deserves. Not flashy with some amazing light show abilities but his Stealth w/Speed has no equal. Shame he is not a starter frame though.

As to Volt I haven't played him lately and not a bad frame overall.....has Speed to fly thru missions if needed. Overload is his bread & butter and works really well against Corpus. I really never messed with Shield that much but may need to take him out and play with that. Some say his Shield is actually a bit better than Frost's Snow Globe but only if you are able to throw out multiple shields. It doesn't cover a full 360° like Snow Globe does. But shots fired thru get 50% Electrical damage plus an additional 200% Critical. In certain Defense and Mobile Defense positions he might help but pretty much for Corpus.

Loki is a starter frame.

Excalibur (tank), Mag (Mage), and Loki (rogue).

Volt replaced Loki in update 14.

Oops, my bad. After watching that video, I would have picked Volt instead of Excalibur. Time to get me a Rhino Chess ;)
