Look for, "see what's new this week" in your email's inbox. I received the email yesterday morning. The lucky shoppers all get different codes and it can only be used once.

Fine print below:

Spoiler:
Receive 20% off one transaction made on PlayStation Store on PS3, PS4 or the online store (store.playstation.com ). Does not apply to transactions made on PlayStation Store on PS Vita, PlayStation TV, PSP or in-game. Some exclusions apply, including but not limited to PS Plus memberships, subscriptions, game pre-orders, PS Now content, Spotify subscription on PlayStation Music, and rental video content. Code must be redeemed at checkout and discounted transaction completed before 11:59 PM PT on December 19th, 2016. Code is not redeemable for cash, cannot be returned for cash or credit, may not be used for any other purpose, and will not be replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged.

Edit: A cool thing is that it's 20% off each item in your cart, not overall.
It sucks I've been a PS+ member since almost the beginning and I've got the box checked to receive emails from Playstation and I've never received their weekly emails.

Yeah, I wasn't exactly great at math.
I'm probably wrong about that.

I got one as well, but not from my primary account that has PS+. I'm guessing the code isn't tied to the account though, is it?

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I finally got my PS4 Pro set up. It took a couple hours to get everything swapped around. I was using my old 500GB drive as an external drive for my XB1, so I put that back in my PS4. Moved the 2TB drive from the PS4 to my Pro. And moved the 1TB from the Pro to the new external drive for the XB1. So now I have about 75 games re-downloading. The only thing I forgot to do was deactivate my old PS4 so I could make the Pro the primary console. I also didn't know that you had to have the games installed before moving over the saves. Other than that, it was a smooth process. I'm excited to check out some of the improvements in PSVR this weekend.

Has anyone had issues with the response of the thumbsticks.......my left one which is used for sprinting in a lot of the games feels sluggish. Sometimes I can get a character to run/sprint and sometimes not.

Some people have received free holiday themes for their PlayStation 4s. Check your email for, "A Holiday Gift Just For You."

Happy holidays.

4 games that be played on the PS4. I have been looking forward to Day of the Tentacle Remastered and I've heard that This War of Mine is a good game.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Got the Pro for Christmas! I'd said that because it doesn't play 4K discs, we could get a better deal on the basic PS4, but the wife thought there was no point in getting the older console. So now I can finally play UC4, and I was holding out on TLOU as well.

What's some of the recommended 1 & 2TB drives now. I put in a 1TB Seagate hybrid long ago but I have a friend looking to upgrade and needing some choices and prices.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

It looks like the first PS4 Pro themed system flew under the radar (maybe because it's a Gamestop exclusive?). Not a horrible deal since you are saving about $40 buying both separately. It looks like minimal effort went into the controller design though.

That looks like the PS4 Slim and not the Pro.

You are correct to think that. Because it is.

It's a $150 upcharge for a cool graphic, the deluxe edition of FF XV, and a 1tb hdd instead of 500gb.

Sorry about that. I saw the $450 price tag and the 1TB drive and thought it was a Pro. That thing is way overpriced!

I had to do a doubletake as well, that price is insane.

Another slim bundle. This one is a little more reasonable at $299. Comes with the MW remaster too.

Spoiler:

I'm a little surprised they didn't do a Last Guardian bundle or wait a few months and do a Horizon Zero Dawn bundle.

So without digging, because I am lazy. If I get a Pro, can I take the 2TB drive my current PS4 has and drop it in the pro? (I know Id probably have to reformat/download)

A bundle of The Last Guardian and the Slim, aka, the PS4 it barely runs on? Bundling it with the Pro would've made some sense, but might've been seen as Sony tacitly acknowledging you need the Pro to play it with a decent framerate.

From a performance perspective, the bottom line is this. The only option available to PlayStation gamers in getting a regularly smooth 30fps is to use PlayStation 4 Pro, running at 1080p. If you're on a regular PS4 you're in for a very variable experience; lurching between 20-30fps just by running around empty areas, and with stutters to over 110ms. All playthroughs have full v-sync, and there are thankfully no frame-pacing issues at 30fps, but sadly playing The Last Guardian on a standard PS4 easily gives the worst performance of all three options.

You could, but you'd have to back up entirely to an external hard drive, remove the internal HDD, put it in the new Pro, then use that external back up and copy the contents back over.

Well, you don't have to backup. But stingermck is correct that it will reformat the drive, and if he doesn't have a backup, he's going to have to redownload everything instead.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Yep, I just backed up my saved games on a thumb drive when I switched over to the Pro. It was painless.

Also, don't forget to deactivate your main system first so you can make the Pro your primary system. That was the one part I did forget. It wasn't a huge deal, but I had to stop what I was doing to get the old system back up and running where I could deactivate it.

Anyone picking up the new headset that comes out tomorrow? They look really nice (and comfy), but I'm not sure about the $160 price tag.

If it is anything like the Gold, I think it was designed well. The Pulse on the other hand was not.
