Wow, that's a huge jump in frame rate.

Dan, do you still have invites left?

Not an invite. More like a workaround. I'll send you a PM.

Me and friend were talking last night and she was aking when this new update allowing an external HD will officially come out? She is hurting for a new HD and was going to look at a 1TB but is holding off till moe details on when this is coming, how it will work and read & write speeds.

...any idea as to the target date for official release? Thanks

The more recent updates have usually come a month or so after the beta so they have time to make whatever changes are necessary.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

So I'm confused about primary PS4 and DLC ... I bought Elder Scrolls Online a while ago on my account, which is the primary PS4 account. My partner plays ESO on HIS account, because I guess any accounts logged into the PS4 can play any games installed there.

BUT, now he bought some DLC expansion packs on HIS account. Which don't seem to be available on my account. Did we screw up there? Should we always buy DLC on the primary account? Or is DLC different in that it only works on the account that bought it?

You need to buy all products to be digitally shared on the Primary PS4 of the purchaser, and that includes DLC.
If he registers his PS4 as the Primary PS4 of his account, and purchased the DLC on his PS4 (not on yours), his DLC purchase should be sharable with you on your PS4 as long as he is signed into that PS4 at the time (as I understand it).
If he purchased the DLC from his account, on your PS4, then yeah, you're kinda screwed there.

Yup.

If you purchase something under the Primary account, anybody that uses the PS4 can access it.

If you purchase something under a non-Primary account, only the account the item is purchased on can access the content.

Haven't shopped HDD's in ages. I assume any external USB 3.0 HDD will do?

I believe so as long it is 8tb or less. Perfect time to pick one up by taking advantage of the Best Buy/Visa Checkout promotion.

You might also want to look for one that doesn't use an external power source unless you want it plugged into the wall at all times.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

The game looked astonishing when it came out with the PS4 release but guess what.....will look even better....

Resogun Update Adds 4K, HDR Support

Housemarque's Resogun was brimming with particle effects and other eye candy when it released on PS4. Today, if you have a display that supports HDR or 4K resolutions, the game can look even better, thanks to a free update.

The update, which is available for the PS4 and PS4 Pro, adds some additional lighting and visual effects, and also addresses some lingering bugs.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I'm about to get a 4K UHD for the living room, and will most likely get a PS4 Pro for it. I don't think I can justify keeping my regular PS4 with it. I'm pretty sure if I do any gaming it would be on the Pro, and if I need to for some reason, I can just bring the Pro upstairs, as my PS3 will be fine for any movies I'd watch on the projector upstairs.

What's the going rate for a PS4 right now? Am I better off trading it in somewhere towards a Pro, or just selling for cash on craigslist or Facebook? Could also wait for bundles/deals, I don't see any out there now.

thx

I just sold my launch unit to a co-worker for $210. I thought that was a fair price since you can buy a slim model for $250.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

So I tried to share a photo to facebook earlier. It's been ages since I've done it so I had to log in. No issues.

However on the facebook end I'm getting a "your account was logged in by an unrecognized device error." No biggie, except my location is listed as "Near Nanjing, China" which is thowing up a red flag. Anyone seen this before?

Yes, the people that live and/or work near Nanjing China would get this.

Oh, also people who might have had their login info taken, if you use the same information elsewhere, through the numerous breaches that have happened on other sites... can't remember if FB has had one reported.

You would want to change your password just to be safe...

Nice. I wonder how long I've been breached.

Changed passwords to PSN and fb and enabled two step for both. I don't keep a credit card on file(actually dumped them altogether), so no worries there.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I finally got tired of slow download speeds and hiccups during streaming, so I upgraded to a Netgear Nighthawk router and it made a huge difference. Amazon had it for their DOTD a couple weeks ago, and it was was worth the $67. I ran network tests on my PS4 before and after and the speed nearly doubled. So if anyone is still having problems with their download speeds, it might be worth trying to update your router first.

Did Sony upgrade or use a better wifi chip in the Pro vs launch console?
