re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I'll just post the link to Gamespot's video of 30 minute playthru of Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain on the PS4...it is in HD by the way. The movement really looks good and fairly fluid.

I just bought Strider on XB1 thinking there's no way it goes free so soon. Oh well, great pair of freebies.

Someone (or many people) at Sony must be on crack if they think this pricing is going to hold up for PSN Now: http://kotaku.com/playstation-now-pr...ane-1594025919

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Has anyone had this problem?

Last night I tried to pop in my UFC Game and the PS4 spit out the disc right away. Then it was constantly making ejecting noises every 10 seconds or so. It would not take in any discs. The slot was jammed as it was constantly ejecting.

I was freaking out that there may be some mechanical defect with the disc drive. But then, I looked it up on Google and apparently this is a pretty common problem. All I had to do to fix it was re-start and enter safe mode. Then I had to update the system software and the problem was fixed after it was installed and re-booted.

Whew!! What a relief.

$5 for 4 hours? That's like a reverse dagger, or something.

The problem with PSNow is individual rentals. It needs to be a subscription service. Who's gonna play more than a few levels/hours of Crash Bandicoot or Destruction Derby before moving on to something else? I can see playing a few levels of game x and moving on to game y, before checking out game z.

Blacklight: Retribution beta ends, launches on PS4 next week with major update

Zombie Studios has confirmed that the beta phase for the PlayStation 4 version of the free-to-play shooter Blacklight: Retribution is coming to an end, with the game due to launch on Tuesday June 24, 2014.

Blacklight: Retribution has been in the beta phase since November, but the full release of the game will introduce a host of improvements and changes based on community feedback.

"Our community and fan feedback have been instrumental in helping us to get to where we are and we are excited to share those changes with everyone. I especially can’t wait to be able to finally earn trophies in Blacklight!” said Director of Production, Andy Kipling.

Additions to the game include two new PvP maps, one called Outpost and the other named Trench. Three new maps will also be released for co-op PvE mode: DeathMetal, Lockdown, and Terminus. Improvements include tighter aiming mechanics, higher frame rates and new weapons, while streamers will get the opportunity to interact with viewers to vote on player mods.

Producer, Kael Hammond, states “We did a lot of work during Beta to improve the overall user experience, from improving in-game performance across the board, to overhauling our entire menu system, improving our matchmaking and adding new features. The end result is a vastly improved game experience that we believe all Blacklight players – from longtime fans to new users – will find vastly more fun, enjoyable and accessible.”

Absolutely. For perspective, that's 20-40% more than PS Plus costs per month, and PS Plus gives you 6 games on 3 platforms every month.

Service is going to fail hard if they don't sort that out.

They really need to look at renting these older games for a dollar a day and that is about it.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I don't know much about the series or this game itself but it's been under the radar yet seems to have some impressive visuals. In the same area as Dragons Age, Skyrim, Elder Scroll's but it's an impressive trailer.

The trailer was edited using real gameplay, like all our former trailers featuring Kingdom Under Fire II. The extended version trailer shows more detail and additional battle scenes running on our powerful, in-house “Blueside Engine.” The music was composed by renowned game and film composer Cris Velasco, who has been featured in the God of War video game series.
