I don't think the article was that dumb, since it was just relaying the sales figures from Japan and admits that there are a lot of reasons for the big drop in sales from the first week. I'd be more curious to know the drop off with the PS3 in comparison though then the Wii U.

I don't think the Japanese have any "major" gift giving holidays that are as ridiculous as Christmas in Europe and the US (seriously that shit has gone way wayyyy overboard), but from my understanding Christmas has caught on pretty big over there and taken over for their "end of the year" gifts they normally send. Something about the "end of the year gifts" was apparently obligatory and Christmas gifts are more personal. So gift giving on December 25th is a thing for sure, just not sure what extent it has sunken in. I don't think there were exact numbers from last month, but the gap seems to have narrowed given last month the PS4 was almost double the XBox. I assume that's Titanfall hype helping.

Had a funny experience at Target tonight. Saw 3 regular Xbox Ones, 2 Titanfall bundles, and 1 day one edition (it was a return because there was a note on it saying they had to open it to make sure everything was in there). And one lonely PS4 :lol:

Scored a PS4 tonight. :banana:
Local Gamestop got 4 in stock. Used my $110 in credit as I've mentioned here and paid around $340 (I also renewed my Power Up rewards for another year and spent $15) I don't have a lot of money to spend on games right now, so I can't go crazy on games. I don't have time to read a lot of the individual games threads, what's currently the best, most popular game right now? I was looking at Call of Duty Ghosts as a possibility. I was also thinking about picking up NBA 2K14 as well. Can anyone who has 2K14 clarify whether or not the PS4 version is an adequate upgrade to the 360 version. I have the 360 version, which I got for my B-Day last year and was wondering if it's worth the double dip. Not going to touch Madden 25 since the season is over. Going to wait until Madden 15 comes out later this summer. |

Battlefield 4 is better than CoD - especially on the PS4 system, but CoD will be cheaper. I think it's $39.99 at Best Buy and there's a 35% off Cartwheel coupon at Target for that game. NBA 2K14 looks amazing on the PS4 -especially the replays. How much better than the 360 version I couldn't tell you.
My favorite is Assassin Creed IV Black Flag. It looks and plays great. If you can find a cheap, new PS3 version, you can use the enclosed code to upgrade to the PS4 version for $9.99 until 3/31. Same goes for CoD Ghosts and Battlefield 4. |

Concur with everything just said: - BF>CoD and is actually "next gen" (ie, it wouldn't be possible at that scale on prior gen) - To me, NBA2K probably wouldn't be worth a double dip just for graphics, especially if money is a factor - AC4 looks great, and I have to add that I really liked Need For Speed Rivals quite a lot You absolutely have to get PS+ and all of the free games that come with it: Resogun, Contrast, Don't Starve, Outlast and Dead Nation (some may not still be free). Check out the free to play games, especially Warframe, which I am incredibly addicted to, and Blacklight Retribution, which you might find a solid substitute for CoD. (note, you don't need PS+ to play these) |

ACIV is great. CoD:Ghosts was pretty disappointing.
I think if someone owns a PS4 it would be silly to not have PS+ for the free games. |
