Not to mention calling you "sleazy" for making a simple, factually, intellectually honest statement about the 6M sold, right after cherry picking his own data.

If it makes him feel better about his purchase to carve the sales numbers up somehow, that's his business, but I thought that was a sleazy move.

Apparently the stock availability we're all experiencing isn't real, sales numbers being worldwide is somehow a bad thing, most of us live in ghetto states, and max is "sleazy".

Very good point. Don't know if people are playing last year's games on it. Can't imagine anyone buying it to play Thief. Maybe it's the PS Plus freebies driving sales? Or maybe the game streams that people other than me seem so interested in.

Just because the Gamestop website says "Low Stock" doesn't mean there is one actually there. I ran into that issue MANY times during my two week journey to find one locally.

Otherwise, I can only speak for my "Ghetto" area. 3 out of the 20 Targets in my 35 mile radius say they have them in stock. Not bad, considering how it was a waste land a few weeks back. One Gamestop shows the "*Low Stock" BS.

I guess overall, we can just summarize it all by saying if you live in 49 of the "Ghetto" states outside of Cali, YMMV when it comes to PS4. If you are in Cali, contact King Gizmo and he will show you the way to PS4 ownership!

People wanted a next gen console. And it's the cheapest of the two. And they basically have the same games, I know exclusives, and all of that. But average joe doesn't care too much about that.

Also, I think Apple helped. Nowadays you spent $500 or so every two years (at least) upgrading your tablet, iphone, etc. That's why both consoles are having great numbers. Even when there are no games.

Things that I think are driving PS4 sales:

1. Pent up demand for a new console
2. Sony nailed both hardware (price and power) and PR (doubled down on gamers)
3. Microsoft and Nintendo screwed up both hardware and PR to varying degrees
4. The last 2-3 years of PS3 were pretty amazing, especially compared to competitors, which drives trust in upcoming content and in the ecosystem

A hyped game combined with the amount of product already in the system, yeah, I agree. At a minimum, it will do what MGS4 did for PS3, and it could be much bigger.

I'll be interested in seeing how they handle the XBOs currently on store shelves vs. the ones that come bundled with Titanfall for the same price. If they are any kind of smart, they'll figure out a way to give digital copies of Titanfall to anybody who buys an XBO this month, because there are a ton of units sitting on shelves.

And PS4 will continue to sell out regardless, so it will be a matter of units shipped to some degree.

I imagine they'll just have a "retail bundle" where you get all the same stuff for the same price, but just with the original green box instead of the Titanfall-branded cardboard box.

If I were getting an XO and wanted Titanfall, I'd much prefer a retailer bundle with a physical copy of the game, if the price were the same.

I don't think that Titanfall itself will push most of these on the shelf units. Most people already knew it was coming this quarter and I believe that the majority have already prepared for it by already purchasing the One. It will be interesting to see if the release really pushes hardware sales or if we will just see a spike in the software sales and a slight increase in the hardware. I know I bought my PS4 early to be prepared for games I knew were coming just a few months down the road.

That was my plan before my mom gave me a massive GC for my birthday. It's my best friend's plan as well and he'll be picking one up with this bundle.

Most people who have a ps4 most likely have a 360

If Titanfall 360 version is even remotely decent thats the system they will be buying it on

Just checked those stores again out of curiosity. Of the 16 that had systems in stock before opening, 4 have sold out. So, anecdotal evidence on the systems still moving well in that area.

Weird sidenote, they seem to now be blocking my laptop from accessing their site. I just get an access denied message when I go to Target.com, though it loads just fine on my phone and iPad. I guess maybe running a couple stock searches made them think I was a bot? Very odd.

Yup, I checked as well : it was 8/20 with in-stock inventory in L.A. this morning, now it's 6/20. Still way better than ghetto Vegas where it's in stock in 0/17 stores
