I've been holding out for that exact same reason. Up until a few months ago, I had 6.0 mbps with a 150 GB monthly cap. Now I have 100 mbps with no cap, so I figured this was the perfect time. I'm going to toss the old 500GB hard drive in a new enclosure and use it externally for my XB1.

Just remember, you need to return the original 500 GB HDD with the PS4 for a warranty replacement. Not sure about a warranty repair. Don't lose it.

Google isn't helping - what's the highest amount of TB you can add to a PS4?

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I replaced my hdd with a 2TB drive a month or so ago and went through about 50 gigs in one day just downloading patches and updates for the disc based games that I still play. The killer are games like Borderlands that don't have any of the DLC on the disc, which is bullshit, and has to be downloaded.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

So I'm assuming the hard drive that can be used is standard and not SSD? I've only downloaded the patches for 2 games, but I'd rather replace with a larger one now since I have PS+ and know I'll be downloading a lot of games over the next year.

You also have to reinstall the games from the physical disk, it won't copy the data over. At least, that's what I found out when NBA 2K made me replay the Spurs/Heat game while it loaded the data again; and then came the updates.

Do you guys foresee Journey being a PS+ freebie at some point for PS4?

No I don't. It's one of their favorite games. That said, it's been on sale several times and will again. I wouldn't buy it at full price.

I never got around to picking up Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, so that's a nice bonus. I guess I'll grab Limbo for the 4th or so platform now :)

Let's see, after August 4, I have Limbo on....

360 (bought on first sale - paid too much)
iPad (99 cent sale)
Vita (PS Plus Freebie)
Xbox One (gift from Microsoft for being a Day One sucker)
PS4 (PS Plus Freebie)

All for a game I think was terribly overrated and I never liked much.

Don't feel bad, I bought Limbo when it was first released at $15. It's a fantastic, gorgeous game though so I'm not too bitter about that one.

I'm pretty excited to try the Lara Croft game. I skipped it because I got the impression it was built more for co-op play, so I'm hoping it turns out to be a decent single-player experience.

It's very much like the last Lara Croft game on XBLA. It's designed for MP and plays better that way, but it scales for single player and is certainly playable like that. It's a nice freebie, wish I hadn't grabbed it previously but I'm a sucker for a decent sale (and this one has been significantly discounted on both PS4 and XO recently.

I got it awhile back when they were having a lot of markdowns...I think it was half off or something. It is best for co-op though with some of the puzzle parts to do but as Decker mentions SP can be done. It is in that long 3rd person view like Diablo. The game looks really good. I could never find anyone to play with and still near the beginning I think.

Isometric view.

Sound shapes is the ultimate trophy machine.

Each version has it's own trophy list, and the games are cross-save. So you play through the game once, and you get the trophies 3 times (assuming you have a PS3, PS4 and Vita).

My left analog stick finally started wearing away and peeling. I bought some of those XBone replacement sticks off eBay, and I must say they are pretty great. Thanks XBox, while slow and graphically inferior, you can still serve a purpose!

FWIW...Best Buy has a Toshiba 2.5 1TB drive for $49.00 this week.

2TB. If you want a drive that will fit properly. Higher if you use the Nyko DataBank or run a cable to connect the drive from outside the PS4. More than 3TB seems to cause some problems.

So I got a new PS4. The Batman bundle, not LE. How much time should I expect to spend in setup?

I mean from opening the box until I can play Batman. I'm guessing I will need to download some updates.

Just checking if I will have time to play tonight.

The patch was about 5gigs? or so. Took about 45 min to download and install the patch. Then I watched the beginning sequence to the game which was about 10 minutes or so to get to the start of the game play.

You will need to update the PS4. Maybe another 45 minutes.
